Knowing Truth

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:32)

  • What is The Truth?
  • Where can we find The Truth?
  • Do you understand what this scripture means?

Do we find truth in a specific religious affiliation? If so which one? Catholics, Pentecostals, Lutherans, Baptists, Methodist or another...

All of them will say you have to be baptized in their religion or theological belief in order to receive salvation. If this is True where does it say in scripture that a person needs to be Catholic, Baptist or one of the others in order to receive eternal life?

Scriptures indicate the only requirement to receive salvation are to obey the commandments and receive the testimony of Yahshua the Anointed by water baptism. You will then have an opportunity to be saved.

Here is the endurance of the set-apart ones, here are those guarding the commands of YAH and the belief of Yashshua. (Revelation 14:12)

Guarding the commandments of YAH and having the faith of Yahshua are the prerequisites for receiving eternal life. You cannot have one without the other, meaning you cannot keep the commandments and not have a proper baptism and expect to be saved [delivered, protected]; nor can you receive proper baptism and not keep the commandments and expect to be saved. The scripture states you must keep the commandments and have the testimony of his Son Yahshua.

Blessed are those doing His commands, so that the authority shall be theirs unto the tree of life, and to enter through the gates into the city. (Revelation 22:14)

Notice John states, "Blessed are those doing His commands, so that the authority shall be theirs unto the tree of life". Does Christianity teach about keeping the commandments of YAH or do they teach freewill, faith and grace? More importantly, is this Truth?

If you are practicing the laws of YAH, and following the process that he has given:
  • Believing in his only begotten son Yahshua.
  • Being purified (baptized) with water.
  • Doing His commands.

Then you will receive eternal life if it is YAH’s will. The only affiliation that you need to have, is to be a member of the body of the Anointed. You achieve this upon purification of the word coupled with water baptism.

And Yohanan answering, said, Master, we saw someone casting out demons in Your Name, and we forbade him because he does not follow with us. But Yahshua said to him, Do not forbid him, for he who is not against us is for us. (Luke 9:49-50)

In other words, if you are teaching and practicing the word without deviation from scripture, you are in accordance with the minimum requirements needed to become a possible heir of eternal life. During this study, we will answer many questions such as:

  • What is Truth?
  • Did Yahshua speak the Truth?

The Law and the Prophets will be our guide and judge. They will determine what is The Truth and what is a lie. They will instruct us of what to do in order to receive The Truth and be potential heirs to salvation; according to Truth, not according to what man thinks or feels.

Lets start with basic scriptures pertaining to truth and let the scriptures bare witness to the fact that The Truth mentioned by the Law and the Prophets, is nothing more than the Laws of YAH and his righteousness:
Show me Your ways, O YAH; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the Elohim of my deliverance; On You I wait all the day. (Psalms 25:4-5)

The Psalmist starts off by asking YAH to show him his ways and teach him his paths. In other words, give me direction and show me your code of conduct, that was established from the beginning for man to live for YAH’s satisfaction and for the peace and happiness of mankind. In verse 5 he says,...lead me in your truth and teach...". He did not say tell me The Truth, but teach me your truth and order my footsteps according to your truth. Lets see what truth he is speaking of:

For Your kindness is before my eyes, And I have walked in Your truth. (Psalms 26:3)

Does this mean he walked in YAH’s laws and commandments? We’ll allow scripture to answer this question:

I pray, O YAH, please remember how I have walked before You in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done what is good in Your eyes. And Hezekiah wept bitterly. (Isaiah 38:3)

Notice Hezekiah said that he has walked before YAH in truth and with a perfect heart and has done that which is good in the eyes of YAH. Hezekiah was able to walk in truth, because he focused on YAH’s laws, practiced them and lived by them, this gave him a perfect heart and it pleased YAH. Lets dig deeper into The Truth that Hezekiah walked in and explore "truth" further as written in scripture:

Do not withhold Your compassion from me, O YAH ; Let Your kindness and Your truth always watch over me. (Psalms 40:11)

The scripture says to let your truth always watch over me. We could also read this passage; thy WORD always watch over me or your LAWS always watch over me. Let’s see if the scriptures will support this rephrase:

Teach me Your way, O YAH ; Let me walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your Name. (Psalms 86:11)

There is no explanation needed here. It is a simple restating of walking in truth. Could the Truth spoken by the Psalmist mean walking in the laws of YAH? Is this how we walk in truth? Yes! In order for us to walk in The Truth, we must first learn the ways of YAH. We can find YAH’s ways in the books of the law, which are located in the first five books of the bible or often called the Torah. Let’s look at another scripture, which will show YAH’s protection for those who keep his ways or laws:

He covers you with His feathers, And under His wings you take refuge; His truth is a shield and armour. (Psalms 91:4)

YAH’s truth is a shield and armour, which means that YAH’s laws and the righteousness of his laws will be the protection needed to preserve your life and health. Let’s continue to confirm this in scripture:

My son, do not forget my Torah, And let your heart watch over my commands; For length of days and long life And peace they add to you. Let not kindness and truth forsake you and Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart, (Proverbs 3:1-3)

It is healing to your navel, And moistening to your bones. (Proverbs 3:8)

Let’s look at scripture that clearly shows Torah (Law) is truth:

And You came down on Mount Sinai, and spoke with them from the heavens, and gave them straight right- rulings and Torah of truth, good laws and commands. (Nehemiah 9:13)

The Torah of truth was in his mouth, and unrighteousness was not found on his lips. He walked with Me in peace and straightness, and turned many away from crookedness. (Malachi 2:6)
Your righteousness is righteousness forever, And Your Torah is truth. (Psalms 119:142)

You are near, O YAH, And all Your commands are truth. (Psalms 119:151)

From what we have seen so far, we can see that The Truth is YAH’s LAWS [Torah]. Therefore, it is the law that we must obey in order to walk in The Truth and find favor with YAH. How can any religious denomination say they have The Truth if they do not acknowledge and give testimony to the commandments?

YAH is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth. He does the desire of those who fear Him; And He hears their cry and saves them. YAH preserves all those loving Him, But all the wrong ones He destroys. (Psalms 145:18-20)

Notice the Prophet said that YAH is near to all who call upon Him in truth. We discovered that truth is the law and the commandments. So in order to "call upon YAH in truth" we must be obeying the Fathers voice and walking in His laws and commandments, if we fail to do this he will not accept us. Look what Solomon wrote in Proverbs:

He who turns away his ear from hearing the Torah, Even his prayer is an abomination. (Proverbs 28:9)

The only way we can show YAH that we love and serve him is to keep his commandments without reluctance, knowing his commandments are not grievous. Psalms 145:20, validates the commitment that YAH has with his people by preserving [protect, maintain, care for, look after] those who love him and destroying those who are wicked [lawless, violating Torah].

YAH preserves all those loving Him, But all the wrong ones He destroys. (Psalms 145:20)

Look what Isaiah has to say regarding truth:

Open the gates, let the righteous nation which guards the truth enter in. (Isaiah 26:2)

We can see here that only those who guard (keep) The Truth, (laws of YAH), will receive eternal life. The scripture says those who guard (keep) or practice the Truth, not those who just hear it. We must keep the laws of YAH with sincerity [genuineness, truthfulness, integrity], this is the only way the TRUTH can be kept.

Lets see if we can validate the scriptures we have covered so far as being accurate and consistent in the New Testament also, linking the Truth as a "whole" throughout the Holy Scriptures. Analyzing The Truth throughout the New Testament is important because Christianity supports the New Testament over the Old Testament. This school of thought is widely believed because many religious leaders teach that the laws (or Old Testament) were done away with when the Messiah was crucified. This is not true and has been one of the biggest lies ever promoted by the Christian faith.

Lets start are review in Matthew:

And they sent to Him their taught ones with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that You are true, and teach the way of YAH in truth, and it does not concern You about anyone, for You are not partial to any man. (Matthew 22:16)

The apostles said that "Yahshua is true and teaches the way (laws) of YAH, in truth". This means that Yahshua came to teach us how to worship the Father. Yahshua wanted everyone to understand that the Father could not be worshiped by traditions of men or by lawlessness, but by being obedient to the laws of YAH and serving him in truth and righteousness. Lets look at what Moses said:

And now, Yisrael, what is YAH your Elohim asking of you, but to fear YAH your Elohim, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, and to serve YAH your Elohim with all your heart and with all your being, (Deuteronomy 10:12)

Yahshua came to teach and embody, true worship according to the laws of YAH, and to clarify what was written by Moses.

And the Word became flesh and pitched His tent among us, and we saw His esteem, esteem as of an only brought-forth of a father, complete in favour and truth. Yohanan bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, This was He of whom I said, He who comes after me has become before me, because He was before me. And out of His completeness we all did receive, and favour upon favour, for the Torah was given through Mosheh the favour and the truth came through Yahshua Messiah. (John 1:14-17)

John said, "full of grace [favour] and truth". Yahshua brought grace to man, which simply means that we no longer have to offer animal sacrifices to atone for our sins. The grace given to us from our Father YAH was his son Yahshua the Anointed. Yahshua liberated us from the requirement of animal sacrifice as atonement for our sins. The Truth that Yahshua brought was pure and correct doctrine, unadulterated, undefiled without tradition. The truth that Yahshua was teaching was not being taught in its entirety by the Jews in the synagogues during that time. Pay close attention to the following scriptures in order to get an idea of what Yahshua clarified in the law to bring about truth:

And the Pharisees and some of the scribes assembled to Him, having come from Yerushalayim. And seeing some of His taught ones eat bread with defiled, that is, with unwashed hands, they found fault. For the Pharisees, and all the Yehudim, do not eat unless they wash their hands thoroughly, holding fast the tradition of the elders, and coming from the market- place, they do not eat unless they wash. And there are many other traditions which they have received and hold fast  the washing of cups and utensils and copper vessels and couches. Then the Pharisees and scribes asked Him, Why do Your taught ones not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands? And He answering, said to them, Well did Yeshayahu prophesy concerning you hypocrites, as it has been written, This people respect Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain do they worship Me, teaching as teachings the commands of men. Forsaking the command of YAH, you hold fast the tradition of men. And He said to them, Well do you set aside the command of Elohim, in order to guard your tradition. For Mosheh said, Respect your father and your mother, and, He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death. But you say, If a man says to his father or mother, Whatever profit you might have received from me, is Qorban (that is, a gift), you no longer let him do any matter at all for his father or his mother, nullifying the Word of Elohim through your tradition which you have handed down. And many such traditions you do. (Mark 7:1-13)

Yahshua used the washing of hands and pots as a tradition of the elders, which is not found in the law. You can clearly see that Yahshua placed more validity on the practice of the commandments rather than the traditions of man:

And the Pharisees came to Him, trying Him, and saying to Him, Is it right for a man to put away his wife for every reason? And He answering, said to them, Did you not read that He who made them at the beginning made them male and female, and said, For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh? So that they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what Elohim has joined together, let man not separate. They said to Him, Why then did Mosheh command to give a certificate of divorce, and to put her away? He said to them, Because of the hardness of your hearts, Mosheh allowed you to put away your wives, but from the beginning it was not so. And I say to you, whoever puts away his wife, except on the ground of whoring, and marries another, commits adultery. And whoever marries her who has been put away commits adultery. (Matthew 19:3-9)

Yahshua is explaining the origin of divorce according to the law. He clearly states that you cannot divorce your wife unless she is defiled by another man (commits adultery or fornication). Moses made an addition to the law, which was considered a law made by man, but was not in compliance with the word of YAH. Yahshua spoke against this because it was not truth, nor was it pure doctrine (free from mans interference). Lets reference another scripture:

And having left there, He went into their congregation. And see, there was a man having a withered hand. And they asked Him, saying, Is it right to heal on the Sabbath? so as to accuse Him. And He said to them, What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, shall not take hold of it and lift it out? How much more worth is a man than a sheep! So it is right to do good on the Sabbath. Then He said to the man, Stretch out your hand. And he stretched it out, and it was restored, as healthy as the other. (Matthew 12:9-13)

The Pharisees are trying to accuse Yahshua; however, He asked them a question, "What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the Sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?" It’s obvious it requires work or labor to lift a sheep out of a pit, however, Yahshua brought light to the fact that labor on the Sabbath day is not condemned, if it is absolutely necessary! There are numerous scriptures that support Yahshua’s position on traditions as well as how those traditions were in direct opposition to the commandments of YAH. This is The Truth that Yahshua brought and taught the Hebrews, who had tainted the righteous doctrine by adding to the laws of YAH. Regardless to what man decides to embrace as a religion, The Truth (Law) of YAH is undefiled and pure.

Let’s continue to see what The Truth is, and who has The Truth today:
And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light, for their works were wicked. For everyone who is practicing evil matters hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But the one doing the truth comes to the light, so that his works are clearly seen, that they have been wrought in Elohim. (John 3:19-21)

Yahshua is the light and he is truth. For the light is The Truth and The Truth is the light. The scripture here states that everyone who is practicing evil matters hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. However, he that does truth comes into the light, so that his works are clearly seen and that they give testimony to the laws and ethics of YAH. The Prophet Isaiah said:

To the Torah and to the witness! If they do not speak according to this Word, it is because they have no daybreak. (Isaiah 8:20)

We know that when there is light we are able to see. We also know that when there is darkness we are blinded. The light that we see in scripture is "truth and holiness" and the darkness is "wickedness and ignorance". The Prophet Isaiah speaks about receiving information, guidance, counseling, instructions and spiritual nourishment from the law and the testimony or as stated above "according to the word". The word, as stated in Proverbs, YAH’s word is synonymous with his commandments, laws, statutes and judgments!

Then he taught me and said to me, Let your heart hold fast my words; Guard my commands, and live. (Proverbs 4:4)

The Messiah brought the truth to the world; this is why he truly is the light of the world. The time will come when those who are true worshipers will worship YAH in spirit, (righteousness and holiness), and in truth, (correct worship without spiritual defilement). YAH expects us to worship him according to his laws and will. Do we believe that the nations as a whole teach the law and holiness? Lets refer to scripture to answer this question:

But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father also does seek such to worship Him. Elohim is Spirit, and those who worship Him need to worship in spirit and truth. (John 4:23-24)

Yahshua said that the "THE HOUR IS COMING"! This refers to something that is not widely practiced by the masses, however; YAH’s TrueFollowers will serve him in truth according to his word. Today we see individuals attempting to worship the Father by traditions, myths, philosophies, experiences, theories, vanities and deceit. In other words, their allegiance is to man, not YAH. YAH has left us with the perfect model of how to live in righteousness, and we should not depart from it.

Summing Up

5 Key Points to remember!

  1. In an attempt to sanctify and exalt himself, man in his own wisdom, has ordained and incorporated various religions or laws unto himself, which will ultimately lead to his destruction.
  2. There is only one Truth spoken of by the Prophets of the Old Testament which are the Laws of YAH.
  3. There is only one way to peace, happiness and safety, which is through YAH’s Law.
  4. Yahshua did not bring a new Law [Instructions, Torah]. He came in the name and spirit of his Father to clarify and dis annul the amendments and traditions of man, which had defiled the Laws of YAH.
  5. Yahshua made it clear. The Law of the Father is not the doctrine practiced by most in their assemblies today; however, upon his return, ALL flesh must worship the Father in Truth and that Truth is His Laws of Righteousness.

Closing Comments

One of the most important aspects of are relationship with our Father YAH, is the seeking of Truth. Above all else we must be obedient to the truth that has been revealed to us in order to be led into more truth. We must also be able to let go of false truths regardless of how popular opinion may sway us.

Theologians and those wrapped up in tradition may want to deny and explain away YAH’s word, but at the end of the "day" it will be YAH’s Word and Covenant that will come to pass. For the past 2000 years a purging of Truth has been occurring, replacing the original "Faith" with Gentile-oriented patterns. Early-on Gentiles separated themselves from the original believing children of Israel and have almost completely redesigned the "walk", by doing so they have hi-jacked the minds of billions with their "replacement theology". It has been successful, and will continue until the end.

In striving to keep Yah’s law, we are blessed with His Holy Spirit. Not fully adhering to the law and accepting only those things that are convenient for us does not make us potential heirs to receive His Spirit or salvation. Without the works of the law, YAH has no measuring tool to judge us, therefore damnation (sentence of death) is quickened on the day of judgment. In this next passage, we clearly see specific examples of the law and YAH judging man according to the law (not just the 10 commandments):

Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine; the soul that sinneth, it shall die. But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right, and has not eaten upon the mountains, neither has lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither has defiled his neighbors wife, neither has come near to a menstrous woman; and has not oppressed any but has restored to the debtor his pledge, has spoiled no one by violence, has given bread to the hungry and has covered the naked with a garment. He has not given upon usury, neither has taken any increase, that has withdrawn his hand from iniquity, has executed true judgment between man and man; has walked in my statutes and has kept my judgments to deal truly, he is just, he shall surely live saith Yah, Ezekiel 18:4-9.

In closing it is very sad that our Theologians who are called Preachers, Pastors, Bishops, Deacons, etc have gone to school to learn how to teach mankind HOW to be disobedient by not practicing or keeping the laws of the first five books of the bible called the Torah which is YAH’s Truth. Due to an aggressive movement to stamp out Hebrew culture, our religious leaders have taught a doctrine of hypocrisy, and one that makes absolutely no sense, once carefully examined. The work that was annulled was the sacrificial work. The work that is still in tact and will be used to judge us are the works of practicing the laws of Holiness and Morality which are found in the very same books that the clergy has said no longer needs to be adhered to.
