Marked By Law

The objective of this study is to understand the purpose of YAH’s law called the Torah and answer the following questions:

  • Why are Elohim’s laws so vitally important to us?
  • Why did he find it necessary to give them to us?
  • What is his law supposed to accomplish?
  • Why does Christianity teach against these laws?

We will cover the purpose of Elohim’s laws, the overall objective of his code of ethics, and the belief that the law has been nullified.

We will start this study by defining Law and Sin to establish a common understanding of their meanings.

Law or Torah:

  1. Law, direction, instructions.
  2. Instruction or direction, human or divine.
  3. Body of legal directives.
  4. Custom or manner.

The law allows us to see things about our character and nature that we wouldn’t normally be able to see. Others may have seen things and even said something to us, but we would generally look at it as their opinion. The law, YAH’s code of ethics is an absolute in which all other things must be measured, it’s a mirror that allows us to see who we really are through the eyes of Elohim.

Sin or Iniquity:

  1. To miss.
  2. Miss the goal or path of right and duty.
  3. To miss the mark.
  4. Wander from the way.

The mark we’re expected to hit is established by the law, it has been set forth by the Most High to clarify what’s right and wrong, clean and unclean, based on his expectations of the way we are to live from day-to-day.

We’re going to establish a foundation for this study by reviewing many of the guidelines and ordinances that have been given to us by Elohim, which will allow us to do a self comparative, so we can see our own lives and actions through Elohim’s ethical standard.

    YAH spoke to Moshe and Aharon in the land of Egypt, saying, "This month shall be to you the beginning of months. It shall be the first month of the year to you. (Exodus 12:1-2 RNWEB)

The beginning of the year is Abib, which generally falls in April on the worlds calendar, this is a law set by YAH.

    Elohim spoke all these words, saying, "I am YAH your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. YOU SHALL HAVE NO OTHER ELOHIMS BEFORE ME. "You shall not make for yourselves an idol, nor any image of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: you shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, for I, YAH your Elohim, am a jealous Elohim, visiting the lawlessness of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me, and showing loving kindness to thousands of those WHO LOVE ME AND KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS. YAH shows mercy to those that love him and keep his commandments.

    "You shall not take the name of YAH your Elohim in vain, for YAH will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain. "Remember the day of Sabbath, to keep it holy. You shall labor six days, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to YAH your Elohim. You shall not do any work in it, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates; for in six days YAH made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day; therefore YAH blessed the day of Sabbath, and made it holy. "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which YAH your Elohim gives you. "You shall not murder. "You shall not commit adultery. "You shall not steal. "You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. "You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s." (Exodus 20:7-17 RNWEB)

These are the 10 commandments, which are posted in various government buildings and churches all over the United States.

  • What significants do these hold?
  • Are they just words to admire?
  • How can we tell if there significant to us?

The way we’re judged is by the works of our hands, so we know these laws are significant in our lives if we have taken the time to understand them, so we can practice them. In the book of James it says, "Show me your faith without works, and I by my works will show you my faith," true conviction will bring a corresponding action, in this case obedience to the YAH’s law.

    "One who strikes a man so that he dies shall surely be put to death, (Exodus 21:12 RNWEB)

This is the death penalty, which was set forth in Elohim’s law for specific acts of disobedience.

    "Anyone who attacks his father or his mother shall be surely put to death. "Anyone who kidnaps someone and sells him, or if he is found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death. (Exodus 21:15-16 RNWEB)

Remember these laws were not established by man, these are the dictates and ordinances of Elohim. Kidnappers should be put to death according to YAH’s laws, this is not something listed in the 10 commandments because they only represent a summary of about 450 laws we must follow to be obedient to YAH’s code of ethics. This does not mean we can go out and kill a convicted kidnapper, that would be against the laws of the land we dwell in, and in this age there are no righteous judges to pass judgement. However, this still does not mean we can break the law that forbids kidnapping or any other ordinance written in scripture. The moral law is a reflection of what our conscience should already tell us is right and wrong, but mans imagination has been corrupted, and often his conscience has been seared with a hot iron. The law has been written down so those who desire to walk in righteousness have instructions to achieve YAH’s standards.

    "If men quarrel and one strikes the other with a stone, or with his fist, and he doesn’t die, but is confined to bed; if he rises again and walks around with his staff, then he who struck him shall be cleared: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall provide for his healing until he is thoroughly healed. (Exodus 21:18-19 RNWEB)

If one person hurts another, and he can’t work and has medical bills, the person that caused the problem is responsible and must reimburse him for his losses and expenses. This is an example of fair righteous judgment.

    "If a man steals an ox or a sheep, and kills it, or sells it; he shall pay five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep. (Exodus 22:1 RNWEB)

The commandment says "you shall not steal," so when somebody breaks this ordinance this is what they have to do under the Most Highs laws.

    If the thief is found breaking in, and is struck so that he dies, there shall be no guilt of bloodshed for him. If the sun has risen on him, there shall be guilt of bloodshed for him; he shall make restitution. If he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft. If the stolen property is found in his hand alive, whether it is ox, donkey, or sheep, he shall pay double. "If a man causes a field or vineyard to be eaten, and lets his animal loose, and it grazes in another man’s field, he shall make restitution from the best of his own field, and from the best of his own vineyard. "If fire breaks out, and catches in thorns so that the shocks of grain, or the standing grain, or the field are consumed; he who kindled the fire shall surely make restitution. "If a man delivers to his neighbor money or stuff to keep, and it is stolen out of the man’s house; if the thief is found, he shall pay double. If the thief isn’t found, then the master of the house shall come near to Elohim, to find out if he hasn’t put his hand to his neighbor’s goods. For every matter of trespass, whether it be for ox, for donkey, for sheep, for clothing, or for any kind of lost thing, about which one says, ’This is mine,’ the cause of both parties shall come before Elohim. He whom Elohim condemns shall pay double to his neighbor. "If a man delivers to his neighbor a donkey, an ox, a sheep, or any animal to keep, and it dies or is injured, or driven away, no man seeing it; the oath of YAH shall be between them both, whether he hasn’t put his hand to his neighbor’s goods; and the owner of it shall accept it, and he shall not make restitution. But if it is stolen from him, he shall make restitution to the owner of it. If it is torn in pieces, let him bring it for evidence. He shall not make good that which was torn. "If a man borrows anything of his neighbor’s, and it is injured, or dies, the owner of it not being with it, he shall surely make restitution. If the owner of it is with it, he shall not make it good. If it is a leased thing, it came for its lease. (Exodus 22:2-15 RNWEB)

Take the time to look, meditate, and focus on these laws as we proceed.

    "You shall not spread a false report. Don’t join your hand with the wicked to be a malicious witness. You shall not follow a crowd to do evil; neither shall you testify in court to side with a multitude to pervert justice; neither shall you favor a poor man in his cause. "If you meet your enemy’s ox or his donkey going astray, you shall surely bring it back to him again. If you see the donkey of him who hates you fallen down under his burden, don’t leave him, YOU SHALL SURELY HELP HIM WITH IT. "You shall not deny justice to your poor people in their lawsuits. "Keep far from a false charge, and don’t kill the innocent and righteous: for I WILL NOT JUSTIFY THE WICKED. (Exodus 23:1-7 RNWEB)

We should never bring a false report, this can be done by lying or through gossip and supposition. If we see someone we dislike in trouble, we’re still expected to help them. These are laws set forth by Elohim that must be followed if we want to be justified.

    "You shall take no bribe, for a bribe blinds those who have sight and perverts the words of the righteous. "You shall not oppress an alien, for you know the heart of an alien, seeing you were aliens in the land of Egypt. "For six years you shall sow your land, and shall gather in its increase, but the seventh year you shall let it rest and lie fallow, that the poor of your people may eat; and what they leave the animal of the field shall eat. In like manner you shall deal with your vineyard and with your olive grove. "Six days you shall do your work, and on the seventh day you shall rest, that your ox and your donkey may have rest, and the son of your handmaid, and the alien may be refreshed. "BE CAREFUL TO DO ALL THINGS THAT I HAVE SAID TO YOU; AND DON’T INVOKE THE NAME OF OTHER ELOHIMS, NEITHER LET THEM BE HEARD OUT OF YOUR MOUTH. (Exodus 23:8-13 RNWEB)

We invoke the names of other Elohim's on a consistent basis, for example, when we say Sunday, we’re invoking the sun god, and each of the days of the week and many of the months are named after other elohim's. The creators of the calendar used in the world system named the days and many of the months to give homage and honor to the gods they worshiped.

Dietary Law

    YAH spoke to Moshe and to Aharon, saying to them, "Speak to the children of Yisra’el, saying, ’These are the living things which you may eat among all the animals that are on the earth. Whatever parts the hoof, and is cloven-footed, and chews the cud among the animals, that you may eat. "’Nevertheless these you shall not eat of those that chew the cud, or of those who part the hoof: the camel, because he chews the cud but doesn’t have a parted hoof, he is unclean to you. The coney, because he chews the cud but doesn’t have a parted hoof, he is unclean to you. The hare, because she chews the cud but doesn’t part the hoof, she is unclean to you. The pig, because he has a split hoof, and is cloven-footed, but doesn’t chew the cud, he is unclean to you. Of their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch; they are unclean to you. "’These you may eat of all that are in the waters: whatever has fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, that you may eat. All that don’t have fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of all the living creatures that are in the waters, they are an abomination to you, and you detest them. You shall not eat of their flesh, and you shall detest their carcasses. Whatever has no fins nor scales in the waters, that is an abomination to you. "’These you shall detest among the birds; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the nesher, and the rakham, and the black rakham, and the red kite, any kind of black kite, any kind of raven, the tanshemet, the screech owl, and the gull, any kind of hawk, the kos, the shalakh, the yanshuf, the white owl, the desert owl, the osprey, the khasidah, any kind of heron, the dukifat, and the atalef. "’All flying insects that walk on all fours are an abomination to you. Yet you may eat these: of all winged creeping things that go on all fours, which have legs above their feet, with which to hop on the earth. Even of these you may eat: any kind of arbeh, any kind of katydid, any kind of cricket, and any kind of grasshopper. But all winged creeping things which have four feet, are an abomination to you. "’By these you will become unclean: whoever touches the carcass of them shall be unclean until the evening. Whoever carries any part of their carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. "’Every animal which parts the hoof, and is not cloven-footed, nor chews the cud, is unclean to you. Everyone who touches them shall be unclean. Whatever goes on its paws, among all animals that go on all fours, they are unclean to you. Whoever touches their carcass shall be unclean until the evening. He who carries their carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. They are unclean to you. "’These are they which are unclean to you among the creeping things that creep on the earth: the kholed, the rat, any kind of tzav, the anakah, and the monitor lizard, the wall lizard, the skink, and the tanshemet. These are they which are unclean to you among all that creep. Whoever touches them when they are dead, shall be unclean until the evening. On whatever any of them falls when they are dead, it shall be unclean; whether it is any vessel of wood, or clothing, or skin, or sack, whatever vessel it is, with which any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the evening; then it will be clean. Every earthen vessel, into which any of them falls, all that is in it shall be unclean, and you shall break it. All food which may be eaten, that on which water comes, shall be unclean; and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean. Everything whereupon part of their carcass falls shall be unclean; whether oven, or range for pots, it shall be broken in pieces: they are unclean, and shall be unclean to you. Nevertheless a spring or a cistern in which water is a gathered shall be clean: but that which touches their carcass shall be unclean. If part of their carcass falls on any sowing seed which is to be sown, it is clean. But if water is put on the seed, and part of their carcass falls on it, it is unclean to you. "’If any animal, of which you may eat, dies; he who touches its carcass shall be unclean until the evening. He who eats of its carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. He also who carries its carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. "’Every creeping thing that creeps on the earth is an abomination. It shall not be eaten. Whatever goes on its belly, and whatever goes on all fours, or whatever has many feet, even all creeping things that creep on the earth, them you shall not eat; for they are an abomination. YOU SHALL NOT MAKE YOURSELVES ABOMINABLE WITH ANY CREEPING THING THAT CREEPS, NEITHER SHALL YOU MAKE YOURSELVES UNCLEAN WITH THEM, THAT YOU SHOULD BE DEFILED THEREBY. For I am YAH your Elohim. Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be holy; for I am holy: neither shall you defile yourselves with any kind of creeping thing that moves on the earth. For I am YAH who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your Elohim. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy. "’THIS IS THE LAW OF THE ANIMAL, AND OF THE BIRD, AND OF EVERY LIVING CREATURE THAT MOVES IN THE WATERS, AND OF EVERY CREATURE THAT CREEPS ON THE EARTH, TO MAKE A DISTINCTION BETWEEN THE UNCLEAN AND THE CLEAN, AND BETWEEN THE LIVING THING THAT MAY BE EATEN AND THE LIVING THING THAT MAY NOT BE EATEN.’" (Leviticus 11:1-47 RNWEB)

We’re responsible for adhering to each regulation concerning what we can and can’t eat. This is part of what sanctifies us before Elohim. We are marked by our acts of obedience to YAH’s law. These ordinances have a purpose, everything that was given as food strengthens the body, the foods listed as abominations are not good for the body and this materializes over the years. YAH made all the animals and creature, he knows which ones cause harm to our bodies.

    YAH said to Moshe, "Speak to the children of Yisra’el, and say to them, ’I am YAH your Elohim. You shall not do as they do in the land of Egypt, where you lived: and you shall not do as they do in the land of Kena`an, where I am bringing you; neither shall you walk in their statutes. You shall do my ordinances, and you shall keep my statutes, and walk in them: I am YAH your Elohim. You shall therefore keep my statutes and my ordinances; WHICH IF A MAN DOES, HE SHALL LIVE IN THEM: I am YAH. (Leviticus 18:1-5 RNWEB)

YAH did not present us with a religion, we’re the only group of people that have a relationship with the Most High through a culture.

Culture - An integrated pattern of human knowledge, belief, and behavior that is both a result of and integral to the human capacity for learning and transmitting knowledge to succeeding generations.

Laws of Sexual Relations

    "’None of you shall approach anyone who are his close relatives, to uncover their nakedness: I am YAH. "’You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father, nor the nakedness of your mother: she is your mother. You shall not uncover her nakedness. "’You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s wife: it is your father’s nakedness. "’You shall not uncover the nakedness of your sister, the daughter of your father, or the daughter of your mother, whether born at home, or born abroad. "’You shall not uncover the nakedness of your son’s daughter, or of your daughter’s daughter, even their nakedness: for theirs is your own nakedness. "’You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s wife’s daughter, conceived by your father, since she is your sister. "’You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s sister: she is your father’s near kinswoman. "’You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother’s sister: for she is your mother’s near kinswoman. "’You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s brother, you shall not approach his wife: she is your aunt. "’You shall not uncover the nakedness of your daughter-in-law: she is your son’s wife. You shall not uncover her nakedness. "’You shall not uncover the nakedness of your brother’s wife: it is your brother’s nakedness. "’You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter. You shall not take her son’s daughter, or her daughter’s daughter, to uncover her nakedness; they are near kinswomen: it is wickedness. "’You shall not take a wife to her sister, to be a rival, to uncover her nakedness, while her sister is yet alive. (Leviticus 18:6-18 RNWEB)

The term uncover refers to having sexual relations.

    "’You shall not approach a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is impure by her uncleanness. "’You shall not lie carnally with your neighbor’s wife, and defile yourself with her. "’You shall not give any of your children to sacrifice to Molekh; neither shall you profane the name of your Elohim: I am YAH. "’You shall not lie with a man, as with a woman. That is detestible. "’You shall not lie with any animal to defile yourself with it; neither shall any woman give herself to an animal, to lie down with it: it is a perversion. "’Don’t defile yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations which I am casting out before you were defiled. The land was defiled: therefore I punished its lawlessness, and the land vomitted out her inhabitants. You therefore shall keep my statutes and my ordinances, and shall not do any of these abominations; neither the native-born, nor the stranger who lives as a foreigner among you; (for all these abominations have the men of the land done, that were before you, and the land became defiled); that the land not vomit you out also, when you defile it, as it vomited out the nation that was before you. "’For whoever shall do any of these abominations, even the souls that do them shall be cut off from among their people. THEREFORE YOU SHALL KEEP MY CHARGE, THAT YOU DO NOT PRACTICE ANY OF THESE ABOMINABLE CUSTOMS, WHICH WERE PRACTICED BEFORE YOU, AND THAT YOU DO NOT DEFILE YOURSELVES WITH THEM: I am YAH your Elohim.’" (Leviticus 18:19-30 RNWEB)

Society has been slowly desensitized to these problems due to the influences of mass media, such as television, movies, and the Internet. Things that were always considered wrong are now being accepted as the norm.

Feeding the Poor

    "’When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not wholly reap the corners of your field, neither shall you gather the gleanings of your harvest. You shall not glean your vineyard, neither shall you gather the fallen grapes of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and for the foreigner. I am YAH your Elohim. (Leviticus 19:9-10 RNWEB)

Elohim throughout scripture has always made provisions for the poor, this is not being presented as just a good thing to do, it’s law! Everyone doesn’t have a farm, however the principle being set forth still applies. We must be aware of the poor around us and make provisions to help if were able.

Don’t Lie or Steal

    "’You shall not steal; neither shall you deal falsely, nor lie to one another. "’You shall not swear by my name falsely, and profane the name of your Elohim. I am YAH. (Leviticus 19:11-12 RNWEB)

Lie is a verb meaning to engage in deceit, to deal falsely, cheat, or trick. The notion of a treacherous or deceptive activity forms the fundamental meaning of this word. We should not be involved in any activity or scheme where we’re trying to present something deceptively, the scripture says do not lie or steal, this leaves no room for private interpretation.

    "’You shall not oppress your neighbor, nor rob him. The wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until the morning. "’You shall not curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling block before the blind; but you shall fear your Elohim. I am YAH. "’You shall do no injustice in judgment: you shall not be partial to the poor, nor show favoritism to the great; but in righteousness shall you judge your neighbor. "’YOU SHALL NOT GO UP AND DOWN AS A SLANDERER AMONG YOUR PEOPLE; neither shall you stand against the life of your neighbor. I am YAH. (Leviticus 19:13-16 RNWEB)

Slander is a masculine noun referring to gossip. It refers to spreading rumors or falsities about someone. It’s never presented in scripture in a positive manner. A gossip is a person who presents unsubstantiated reports about other people, they spread rumors, and engage in idle talk about the private affairs of others.

    "’You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him. "’You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people; but you shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am YAH. (Leviticus 19:17-18 RNWEB)

Respecting Your Parents

    "’Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be holy; for I am YAH your Elohim. You shall keep my statutes, and do them. I am YAH who sanctifies you. "’FOR EVERYONE WHO CURSES HIS FATHER OR HIS MOTHER SHALL SURELY BE PUT TO DEATH: he has cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him. (Leviticus 20:7-9 RNWEB)

By reviewing the laws and ordinances we’re looking at what the mirror of the law should be reflecting.

If we don’t respect our fathers and mothers we surely don’t have the ability to show YAH love and respect, parents represent our head.

Sexual Perversions

    "’The man who commits adultery with another man’s wife, even he who commits adultery with his neighbor’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. The man who lies with his father’s wife has uncovered his father’s nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. "’If a man lies with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall surely be put to death: they have committed a perversion; their blood shall be upon them. "’If a man lies with a male, as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. "’If a man takes a wife and her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burned with fire, both he and they; that there may be no wickedness among you. "’If a man lies with an animal, he shall surely be put to death; and you shall kill the animal. "’If a woman approaches any animal, and lies down with it, you shall kill the woman, and the animal: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. "’If a man takes his sister, his father’s daughter, or his mother’s daughter, and sees her nakedness, and she sees his nakedness; it is a shameful thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of the children of their people: he has uncovered his sister’s nakedness; he shall bear his lawlessness. "’If a man lies with a woman having her monthly period, and uncovers her nakedness; he has made naked her fountain, and she has uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off from among their people. (Leviticus 20:10-18 RNWEB)

The term "cut off" means to kill.

    "’You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother’s sister, nor of your father’s sister; for he has made naked his close relative: they shall bear their lawlessness. If a man lies with his uncle’s wife, he has uncovered his uncle’s nakedness: they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless. "’If a man takes his brother’s wife, it is an impurity: he has uncovered his brother’s nakedness; they shall be childless. "’You shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my ordinances, and do them; that the land, where I am bringing you to dwell, may not vomit you out. YOU SHALL NOT WALK IN THE CUSTOMS OF THE NATION, WHICH I AM CASTING OUT BEFORE YOU: for they did all these things, and therefore I abhorred them. (Leviticus 20:19-23 RNWEB)

The Most High gave us our own culture, we should not be walking in any of the customs that the nations practice.

    But I have said to you, "You shall inherit their land, and I will give it to you to possess it, a land flowing with milk and honey." I AM YAH YOUR ELOHIM, WHO HAS SEPARATED YOU FROM THE PEOPLES. (Leviticus 20:24 RNWEB)
    When you shall err, and not observe all these commandments, which YAH has spoken to Moshe, even all that YAH has commanded you by Moshe, from the day that YAH gave commandment, and onward throughout your generations; THEN IT SHALL BE, IF IT BE DONE UNWITTINGLY, WITHOUT THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE CONGREGATION, that all the congregation shall offer one young bull for a burnt offering, for a sweet savor to YAH, with the meal offering of it, and the drink offering of it, according to the ordinance, and one male goat for a sin offering. The Priest shall make atonement for all the congregation of the children of Yisra’el, and they shall be forgiven; for it was an error, and they have brought their offering, an offering made by fire to YAH, and their sin offering before YAH, for their error: and all the congregation of the children of Yisra’el shall be forgiven, and the stranger who lives as a foreigner among them; For in respect of all the people it was done unwittingly. (Numbers 15:22-26 RNWEB)

When we sin in ignorance, there’s mercy, though a transgression has occurred, if it’s done without us being aware it’s wrong, the Most High takes this into account. Someone who dies having broken the laws in ignorance will not make the first resurrection, they will be raised with the wicked ones in the second resurrection and YAH will judge their righteousness based on the areas where they knew to do well.

    If one person sins unwittingly, then he shall offer a female goat a year old for a sin offering. The Priest SHALL MAKE ATONEMENT FOR THE SOUL WHO ERRS, WHEN HE SINS UNWITTINGLY, BEFORE YAH, TO MAKE ATONEMENT FOR HIM; AND HE SHALL BE FORGIVEN. The same laws apply the same to everyone, the Hebrew and the Stranger, there are not separate laws for different groups of people.

    But the soul who does anything with a high hand, whether he is native-born or a foreigner, the same blasphemes YAH; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people. (Numbers 15:30 RNWEB)

The person who sins presumptuously blasphemes Elohim.

Presumptuously - arrogantly, haughtily, with conceit; boldly, immodestly, inflexible, or rigid.

    Because HE HAS DESPISED THE WORD OF YAH, and has broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; HIS LAWLESSNESS SHALL BE ON HIM. (Numbers 15:31 RNWEB)

If we arrogantly, haughtily, with conceit break any of the commandments of the Most High, it’s because we despise the law, and we shall bare all our lawlessness.

    Therefore love the foreigner; for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt. (Deuteronomy 10:19 RNWEB)
    Only be sure that you don’t eat the blood: for the blood is the life; and you shall not eat the life with the flesh. (Deuteronomy 12:23 RNWEB)

We can’t eat any of the approved meats under the dietary law, unless they are fully cooked, there cannot be any blood (red in the meat).

    You shall not eat it; you shall pour it out on the earth as water. You shall not eat it; THAT IT MAY GO WELL WITH YOU, AND WITH YOUR CHILDREN AFTER YOU, WHEN YOU SHALL DO THAT WHICH IS RIGHT IN THE EYES OF YAH. (Deuteronomy 12:24-25 RNWEB)

Righteous Judgment & Moral Guidelines

    AT THE MOUTH OF TWO WITNESSES, OR THREE WITNESSES, shall he who is to die be put to death; at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death. The hand of the witnesses shall be first on him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. So you shall put away the evil from the midst of you. If there arise a matter too hard for you in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within your gates; then shall you arise, and go up to the place which YAH your Elohim shall choose; and you shall come to the priests the Levites, AND TO THE JUDGE WHO SHALL BE IN THOSE DAYS: AND YOU SHALL INQUIRE; AND THEY SHALL SHOW YOU THE SENTENCE OF JUDGMENT. Many of the court system procedures in this country and others are based on these principles.

    You shall not remove your neighbor’s landmark, which they of old time have set, in your inheritance which you shall inherit, in the land that YAH your Elohim gives you to possess it. One witness shall not rise up against a man for any lawlessness, or for any sin, IN ANY SIN THAT HE SINS: AT THE MOUTH OF TWO WITNESSES, OR AT THE MOUTH OF THREE WITNESSES, SHALL A MATTER BE ESTABLISHED. If an unrighteous witness rise up against any man to testify against him of wrong-doing, then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before YAH, before the priests and the judges who shall be in those days; and the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, IF THE WITNESS IS A FALSE WITNESS, AND HAS TESTIFIED FALSELY AGAINST HIS BROTHER; THEN SHALL YOU DO TO HIM, AS HE HAD THOUGHT TO DO TO HIS BROTHER: so shall you put away the evil from the midst of you. Those who remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil in the midst of you.     You shall not see your brother’s ox or his sheep go astray, and hide yourself from them: you shall surely bring them again to your brother. If your brother isn’t near to you, or if you don’t know him, then you shall bring it home to your house, and it shall be with you until your brother seek after it, and you shall restore it to him. SO SHALL YOU DO WITH HIS DONKEY; AND SO SHALL YOU DO WITH HIS GARMENT; AND SO SHALL YOU DO WITH EVERY LOST THING OF YOUR BROTHER’S, WHICH HE HAS LOST, AND YOU HAVE FOUND: YOU MAY NOT HIDE YOURSELF. You shall not see your brother’s donkey or his ox fallen down by the way, and hide yourself from them: you shall surely help him to lift them up again. (Deuteronomy 22:1-4 RNWEB)

These are the guidelines governing an animal or any item that is found, the nations notion of finders keepers does not cut it under Elohim's law.

    A woman shall not wear men’s clothing, neither shall a man put on women’s clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to YAH your Elohim. (Deuteronomy 22:5 RNWEB)

This is specifically talking about a man dressing to look like a woman or a woman dressing to look like a man. It doesn’t mean a woman can’t wear pants, there are pants specifically designed for women. This law is addressing men or woman who cross dress to project a different image.

    If a bird’s nest chance to be before you in the way, in any tree or on the ground, with young ones or eggs, and the hen sitting on the young, or on the eggs, you shall not take the hen with the young: you shall surely let the hen go, but the young you may take to yourself; that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days. (Deuteronomy 22:6-7 RNWEB)

Choose Life

    Behold, I have set before you this day life and good, and death and evil; in that I command you this day to love YAH your Elohim, TO WALK IN HIS WAYS, AND TO KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS AND HIS STATUTES AND HIS ORDINANCES, that you may live and multiply, and that YAH your Elohim may bless you in the land where you go in to possess it. But if your heart turn away, and you will not hear, but shall be drawn away, and worship other elohims, and serve them; I denounce to you this day, that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land, where you pass over the Yarden to go in to possess it. I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse: THEREFORE CHOOSE LIFE, THAT YOU MAY LIVE, YOU AND YOUR SEED; TO LOVE YAH YOUR ELOHIM, TO OBEY HIS VOICE, AND TO CLEAVE TO HIM; FOR HE IS YOUR LIFE, AND THE LENGTH OF YOUR DAYS; that you may dwell in the land which YAH swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.     Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to YAH’s law. Blessed are those who keep his statutes, who seek him with their whole heart. (Psalms 119:1-2 RNWEB)

One of the reasons people will fall by the wayside is because they never searched for Elohim with their whole heart. To seek Elohim and hold the course we must serve him with our entire being, it needs to be a desire of our heart, and not just done for the approval of others.

    YES, THEY DO NOTHING WRONG. THEY WALK IN HIS WAYS. You have commanded your precepts, THAT WE SHOULD FULLY OBEY THEM. Oh that my ways were steadfast to obey your statutes! Then I wouldn’t be disappointed, when I consider all of your commandments. (Psalms 119:3-6 RNWEB)
    Those who love your law have great peace. Nothing causes them to stumble. (Psalms 119:165 RNWEB)

If we love the law, will be at peace and not stumble. We will cut off those around us that create discord, and bring misery, according to the precepts set forth by Elohim.

    I have hoped for your salvation, YAH. I have done your commandments. (Psalms 119:166 RNWEB)

By keeping his commandments we hope for his salvation.

We are told to love her (the law) and she will preserve us!

    My son, attend to my words. Turn your ear to my sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes. Keep them in the midst of your heart. FOR THEY ARE LIFE TO THOSE WHO FIND THEM, AND HEALTH TO THEIR WHOLE BODY. (Proverbs 4:20-22 RNWEB)

It’s only through following and understanding the law that we can have life. It must reside in the heart of our being, governing our mind and emotions.

    My son, keep your father’s commandment, and don’t forsake your mother’s teaching. Bind them continually on your heart. Tie them around your neck. When you walk, it will lead you. When you sleep, it will watch over you. When you awake, it will talk with you. FOR THE COMMANDMENT IS A LAMP, AND THE LAW IS LIGHT. Corrections that discipline our the way of life. We’re going to make mistakes and do things that are wrong, we need to be open to correction and receive instruction to refine our discipline (training, teaching, instruction).

    to keep you from the immoral woman, from the flattery of the wayward wife’s tongue. (Proverbs 6:24 RNWEB)

The immoral woman represents pagan religion.

    Wrap up the testimony. Seal the law among my disciples. (Isaiah 8:16 RNWEB)
    Turn to the law and to the testimony! If they don’t speak according to this word, surely there is no morning for them. (Isaiah 8:20 RNWEB)

If we don’t speak according to the law and testimony there is no light in us, we’re without truth.

Now that we have laid a foundation in the law and the prophets, lets see if this same message is carried throughout the New testament.

New Testament

    The law came in besides, that the trespass might abound; but where sin abounded, grace abounded more exceedingly; (Romans 5:20 RNWEB)

The law came on the scene so we could see sin without it being subjective.

    For sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace. (Romans 6:14 RNWEB)

The grace Shaul is talking about is us being removed from the sacrificial ordinances through Yahshua the anointed.

    What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under law, but under grace? MAY IT NEVER BE! Don’t you know that to whom you present yourselves as servants to obedience, his servants you are whom you obey; WHETHER OF SIN TO DEATH, OR OF OBEDIENCE TO RIGHTEOUSNESS? (Romans 6:15-16 RNWEB)

Lets look at a scripture that parallels this in the old testament in the account of Kayin and Abel. We’re picking it up just after Kayin's offering was rejected.

    YAH said to Kayin, "Why are you angry? Why has the expression of your face fallen? IF YOU DO WELL, WILL IT NOT BE LIFTED UP? If you don’t do well, sin crouches at the door. ITS DESIRE IS FOR YOU, BUT YOU ARE TO RULE OVER IT." (Genesis 4:6-7 RNWEB)

If we’re doing well then we are walking in righteousness, however, if not we’re walking in sin, which is transgression of the law. We know that Kayin was not living up to the expectations Elohim had for mankind. He wasn’t being obedient and that’s why sin is mentioned in this verse, we’re told to rule over sin, however if we don’t, we become a servant to sin.

    DON’T YOU KNOW THAT TO WHOM YOU PRESENT YOURSELVES AS SERVANTS TO OBEDIENCE, HIS SERVANTS YOU ARE WHOM YOU OBEY; whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness? (Romans 6:16 RNWEB)

Can you see the parallel? The old and new testament verses are both referring to ruling over sin, and being ruled by either sin or righteousness, whichever one, we align ourselves to.

    But thanks be to Elohim, that, whereas you were bondservants of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching whereunto you were delivered. Being made free from sin, you became bondservants of righteousness. I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh, for as you presented your members as servants to uncleanness and to wickedness upon wickedness, even so now present your members as servants to righteousness for sanctification. (Romans 6:17-19 RNWEB)

If we’re no longer under law than sin is irrelevant, yet the scriptures are constantly referring to sin, so we must still be under law. Without law there are no absolutes and everyone ends up doing what they think is right, which varies greatly among the nations.

    For when you were servants of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. What fruit then did you have at that time in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now, being made free from sin, and having become servants of Elohim, you have your fruit of sanctification, and the result of eternal life. FOR THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH, but the free gift of Elohim is eternal life in the Anointed Yahshua our Master. (Romans 6:20-23 RNWEB)
    Or don’t you know, brothers (for I speak to men who know the law), THAT THE LAW HAS DOMINION OVER A MAN FOR AS LONG AS HE LIVES? (Romans 7:1 RNWEB)
    For the woman that has a husband is bound by law to the husband while he lives, but if the husband dies, she is discharged from the law of the husband. So then if, while the husband lives, she is joined to another man, she would be called an adulteress. But if the husband dies, she is free from the law, so that she is no adulteress, though she is joined to another man. Therefore, my brothers, you also were made dead to the law through the body of the Anointed, that you would be joined to another, to him who was raised from the dead, that we might bring forth fruit to Elohim. For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were through the law, worked in our members to bring forth fruit to death. But now we have been discharged from the law, having died to that in which we were held; so that we serve in newness of the spirit, and not in oldness of the letter. WHAT SHALL WE SAY THEN? IS THE LAW SIN? MAY IT NEVER BE! However, I WOULDN’T HAVE KNOWN SIN, EXCEPT THROUGH THE LAW. For I wouldn’t have known coveting, unless the law had said, "You shall not covet." But sin, finding occasion through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of coveting. For apart from the law, sin is dead. (Romans 7:2-8 RNWEB)

If there’s no law how can there be sin?

    I was alive apart from the law once, but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. The commandment, which was for life, this I found to be for death; for sin, finding occasion through the commandment, deceived me, and through it killed me. Therefore the law indeed is holy, and the commandment holy, and righteous, and good. Did then that which is good become death to me? May it never be! BUT SIN, THAT IT MIGHT BE SHOWN TO BE SIN, BY WORKING DEATH TO ME THROUGH THAT WHICH IS GOOD; THAT THROUGH THE COMMANDMENT SIN MIGHT BECOME EXCEEDING SINFUL. For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am fleshly, sold under sin. For I don’t know what I am doing. For I don’t practice what I desire to do; but what I hate, that I do. But if what I don’t desire, that I do, I consent to the law that it is good. So now it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me. For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don’t find it doing that which is good. For the good which I desire, I don’t do; but the evil which I don’t desire, that I practice. But if what I don’t desire, that I do, it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me. I FIND THEN THE LAW, THAT, TO ME, WHILE I DESIRE TO DO GOOD, EVIL IS PRESENT. FOR I DELIGHT IN ELOHIM’S LAW AFTER THE INWARD MAN, BUT I SEE A DIFFERENT LAW IN MY MEMBERS, WARRING AGAINST THE LAW OF MY MIND, AND BRINGING ME INTO CAPTIVITY UNDER THE LAW OF SIN WHICH IS IN MY MEMBERS. What a wretched man I am! Who will deliver me out of the body of this death? I thank Elohim through Yahshua the Anointed, our Master! So then with the mind, I MYSELF SERVE ELOHIM’S LAW, BUT WITH THE FLESH, I AM A SLAVE OF SIN’S LAW. (Romans 7:9-25 RNWEB)

Shaul is struggling with his two natures, but acknowledges the law is good, and that it shows a person there trespasses and iniquity . If we’re serving the law with our minds, the flesh can’t be in control, because it can’t do anything the mind doesn’t allow.

    to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and incorruptibility, eternal life; but to those who are self-seeking, and don’t obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, will be wrath and indignation, oppression and anguish, on every soul of man who works evil, on the Jew first, and also on the Greek. But glory and honor and peace to every man who works good, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For there is no partiality with Elohim. For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without the law. As many as have sinned under the law will be judged by the law. For it isn’t the hearers of the law who are righteous before Elohim, BUT THE DOERS OF THE LAW WILL BE JUSTIFIED (for when Gentiles who don’t have the law do by nature the things of the law, these, not having the law, are a law to themselves, in that they show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience testifying with them, and their thoughts among themselves accusing or else excusing them) in the day when Elohim will judge the secrets of men, according to my Good News, by Yahshua the Anointed. INDEED YOU BEAR THE NAME OF A HEBREW, AND REST ON THE LAW, AND GLORY IN ELOHIM, AND KNOW HIS WILL, AND APPROVE THE THINGS THAT ARE EXCELLENT, BEING INSTRUCTED OUT OF THE TORAH, (Romans 2:7-18 RNWEB)

We don’t know the things that are right unless we’re instructed out of the law.

    and are confident that you yourself are a guide of the blind, a light to those who are in darkness, a corrector of the foolish, a teacher of babies, HAVING IN THE LAW THE FORM OF KNOWLEDGE AND OF THE TRUTH. (Romans 2:19-20 RNWEB)
    Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, BUT THE KEEPING OF THE COMMANDMENTS OF ELOHIM. (1 Corinthians 7:19 RNWEB)

Being circumcised means nothing, and being uncircumcised means nothing, however what does mean something is keeping Elohim's commandments, which should be our main concern.

    but the end of the charge is love, out of a pure heart and a good conscience and unfeigned faith; from which things some, having missed the mark, have turned aside to vain talking; desiring to be teachers of the Torah, though they understand neither what they say, nor about what they strongly affirm. BUT WE KNOW THAT THE TORAH IS GOOD, IF A MAN USES IT LAWFULLY, AS KNOWING THIS, THAT TORAH IS NOT MADE FOR A RIGHTEOUS MAN, BUT FOR THE LAWLESS AND INSUBORDINATE, FOR THE UNREVERENT AND SINNERS, FOR THE UNHOLY AND PROFANE, FOR MURDERERS OF FATHERS AND MURDERERS OF MOTHERS, FOR MANSLAYERS, (1 Timothy 1:5-9 RNWEB)

A righteous man, someone who practices the law by nature has no need for the moral law, it’s those that are lawless, profane, irreverent, and insubordinate that need the law to show them what they’re doing wrong. There were a number of righteous men that did not have the written law but practiced it by nature, for example Chanokh, Abraham, and Noah.

    FOR THE SEXUALLY IMMORAL, FOR HOMOSEXUALS, FOR SLAVE-TRADERS, FOR LIARS, FOR PERJURERS, AND FOR ANY OTHER THING CONTRARY TO THE SOUND DOCTRINE; according to the Good News of the glory of the blessed Elohim, which was committed to my trust. (1 Timothy 1:10-11 RNWEB)

Why would Shaul be telling Timothy this if the law wasn’t relevant?

    But you remain in the things which you have learned and have been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them. FROM INFANCY, YOU HAVE KNOWN THE SACRED SCRIPTURES WHICH ARE ABLE TO MAKE YOU WISE FOR SALVATION THROUGH FAITH, WHICH IS IN THE ANOINTED YAHSHUA. (2 Timothy 3:14-15 RNWEB)

The sacred scriptures that make men wise are the books of the law and the witness of the prophets, there was no New Testament when Shaul wrote this to Timothy.

    Every writing inspired by Elohim is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction which is in righteousness, that the man of Elohim may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 RNWEB)
    Behold, one came to him and said, "GOOD TEACHER, WHAT GOOD THING SHALL I DO, THAT I MAY HAVE ETERNAL LIFE?" He said to him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good but one, that is, Elohim. BUT IF YOU WANT TO ENTER INTO LIFE, KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS." (Matthew 19:16-17 RNWEB)

We need to keep all the commandments to receive eternal life.

    For the law works wrath, for WHERE THERE IS NO LAW, NEITHER IS THERE DISOBEDIENCE. (Romans 4:15 RNWEB)

If there’s no law there’s no sin, without sin there is no death.

    For until the law, sin was in the world; but SIN IS NOT CHARGED WHEN THERE IS NO LAW. (Romans 5:13 RNWEB)
    But each one is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed. Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin; AND THE SIN, WHEN IT IS FULL GROWN, BRINGS FORTH DEATH. (James 1:14-15 RNWEB)

Sin is the transgression of the law, and it brings death. When the New Testament acknowledges sin, it’s also acknowledging the law.

    The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. (1 Corinthians 15:56 RNWEB)

None of the apostles or disciples are saying the law has been done away with.

    Whoever believes that Yahshua is the Anointed is born of Elohim. Whoever loves the father also loves the child who is born of him. By this we know that we love the children of Elohim, when we love Elohim AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. For this is the love of Elohim, THAT WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. HIS COMMANDMENTS ARE NOT GRIEVOUS.     The dragon grew angry with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her seed, WHO KEEP ELOHIM’S COMMANDMENTS AND HOLD YAHSHUA’S TESTIMONY. (Revelation 12:17 RNWEB)

The righteous seed our those who keep the commandments of Elohim and have the testimony of Yahshua the anointed.

    HERE IS THE PATIENCE OF THE HOLY ONES, THOSE WHO KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF ELOHIM, and the faith of Yahshua." I heard the voice from heaven saying, "Write, ’Blessed are the dead who die in the Master from now on.’" "Yes," says the Spirit, "THAT THEY MAY REST FROM THEIR LABORS; FOR THEIR WORKS FOLLOW WITH THEM." Christian Confessions

But we do not trust through Moses or through the law; for then we would do the same as yourselves. But now 21 -(for I have read that there shall be a final law, and a covenant, the chiefest of all, which it is now incumbent on all men to observe, as many as are seeking after the inheritance of God. For the law promulgated on Horeb is now old, and belongs to yourselves alone; but this is for all universally. Now, law placed against law has abrogated that which is before it,

........... and a covenant which comes after in like manner has put an end to the previous one;
........... and an eternal and final law-namely, Christ-has been given to us,
........... and the covenant is trustworthy,
........... after which there shall be no law, no commandment, no ordinance. (Dialog of Justin Martyr Chpt 6)

In the second century CE, many of the “Early Church Fathers”, or “Apostolic Fathers”, began to make statements which further separated gentiles from everything Jewish. Non-Jewish doctrines began to be developed which became the foundational beliefs of Christianity. Although Gentile Christians were not particularly opposed to the Jews and many still converted to Judaism, the formal position of the Church was decisively set against the Synagogue. The Church sought to conquer the Synagogue which, in their view, continued to cling stubbornly to its ancestral faith.

Frustrated and embittered, the Church Fathers set out to prove that Judaism was a legalistic, dead and superseded religion. By reversing the Biblical image of the Jews, the Church claimed to be the "New Israel", the "Jacob", whereas the Jews were Esau and Cain, the murderers of their brother. Israel was portrayed as blind and divorced by God. This theology of replacement, which evolved into a theology of displacement, stated that the Jews had forfeited what God had given them and now Christianity was the new "heir" to the promises and blessings of God. The Jews, however, could keep the curses.

In the Epistle of Barnabas, written around 135 CE, this “replacement theology” is clearly stated. Referring to the Mosaic Covenant, Barnabas writes: “Indeed it is ours; for Moses had hardly received it when they (the Jews) forfeited it forever.” (Epistle of Barnabus)

In 118 C.E. Bishop Ignatius encouraged all Christian houses of worship to sustain from any Hebraic ritual or custom, even though it had been the basis for there ecclesiastical development and the foundation for their teachings before the death of the apostles. This mind set among Christian leaders spawned two thousand years of anti-law teachings under various doctrines such as grace, faith, belief, hope, and love, anything that would allow them to escape acknowledging the commandments found in the first five books of the bible. These theological precepts under the leadership of the Church and its religious authorities immediately began to replace gods commandments and laws, such as the observance of the Sabbath day, dietary code, and Elohim's prohibition against graven images.

The Christian fathers believing that they were rejecting Hebrews and their legalistic requirements to receive eternal life were actually rejecting the word and will of Elohim and teaching the world a new found theology that would be in direct opposition to Elohim and his son Yahshua the Anointed. The church diametrically taught against the precepts of the holy scriptures, there by teaching most of the world a lawless theological precept which cannot be substantiated through the scriptures or secularly.

    Not everyone who says to me, ’Master, Master,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will tell me in that day, ’Master, Master, didn’t we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?’ Then I will tell them, ’I never knew you. DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO WORK LAWLESSNESS.’ (Matthew 7:21-23 RNWEB)

There is a large body of people claiming to know the Master, however they don’t keep the law. They have no relationship with the father and as a matter of principle actually teach against following the law, saying it’s not for today. Do you know who they are?
