The Rapture: Just The Facts

The rapture has been intensely promoted in many Christian churches for the last century. It is the belief that either before during or after the tribulation “Christ” will come back for his faithful church. We will look at the history of the rapture, alternative view points, then most importantly what scripture actually teaches us.

The questions we will be addressing in this study are:

  • What are the different doctrines about the rapture taught in the church?
  • Does scripture say there will be a rapture?
  • Will faithful Christians be caught up to heaven?
  • What is the tribulation period?
  • What does scripture say about the tribulation and what occurs?
  • Who are the faithful and righteous?

The History of The Rapture

The following information is only provided as an overview of the history of the rapture and the different teachings surrounding it in the Christian Church.

The word “rapture” comes from the Latin verb rapere which means “to carry off, abduct, seize or take forcefully”. It was used in the Latin Vulgate (about 405 A.D.) translation of 1 Thessalonians 4:17, which is the primary biblical reference to the event in question, rapiemur “we shall be caught up” translating the original harpagesometha (passive mood, future tense of harpazo).

The earliest known extra-biblical reference to the rapture is from a sermon attributed to a fourth century Byzantine, Ephraem of Nisibis, in which he is quoted as saying, “For all the saints and Elect of God are gathered, prior to the tribulation that is to come, and are taken to the Lord lest they see the confusion that is to overwhelm the world because of our sins.”

Although the doctrine of the Resurrection of the dead — as said to be taught by Jesus — was common to all Christians and part of the Nicene Creed, little attention was paid to the area of eschatology later known as ‘Rapture’ until the Protestant Reformation, aside from this ancient reference; thus the Christian denominations that have beliefs concerning a rapture are mostly those that appeared after the Reformation.

The later popularization of the term is associated with teaching of John Nelson Darby and the rise of premillennialism and dispensationalism in the United States at the end of the 19th century. The doctrine of the rapture was further popularized by an evangelist named William Eugene Blackstone, whose book “Jesus is Coming” sold more than one million copies, and then by its inclusion in the Scofield Reference Bible.

Among Christians who do believe in a Rapture, there is substantial debate about the timing of the rapture relative to the seven-year Tribulation. Critics of a “Pre-Tribulation” Rapture, the belief that the Rapture will occur prior to the Tribulation, often attribute that doctrine to a 15-year old Scottish- Irish girl named Margaret MacDonald (a follower of Edward Irving) who had a vision in 1830. However, there are at least three other Pre-Tribulation references prior to Macdonald – in a book published in 1788, in the writings of a Catholic priest Emmanuel Lacunza in 1812, and by John Darby himself in 1827.

The Rapture gained popular interest in wider circles during the 1970s, in part thanks to the books of Hal Lindsey, including The Late Great Planet Earth. Many of Lindsey’s predictions in that book, which assumed that the rapture was imminent, were based on world conditions at the time. The Cold War figured prominently in his predictions of Armageddon, and other aspects of 1970s global politics were seen as having been predicted in the Bible. Lindsey believed, for example, that the 10-headed beast cited in Revelation was the European Economic Community, a forebearer of the European Union, which at the time consisted of ten nations.

The doctrine of the Rapture continues to be an important component in Christian eschatology today. Many Christians continue to feel that world conditions point to the Rapture occurring soon. Although this belief is emphasized in the USA, where it is widespread in certain circles, these views continue to find wide resonance around the world not through the study of End-times books, the political events around the world, and the continued spreading of the Christian gospel, and particularly Evangelicalism, to all areas of the Earth.

Varying Views

There are three main viewpoints (within the premillennial school) concerning the timing of the Rapture.

A popular view, and the view taught in dispensationalism, is referred to as the Pre- Tribulation Rapture, or simply “Pre-Trib”. This is the belief that the Rapture will occur at the beginning of the 70th Week of Daniel, the final seven years of this age. Christian believers will be translated into immortal bodies in the Rapture before the great persecutions by the Antichrist as he comes into his Beast role midway through the final seven years. According to this view, the Christian Church that existed prior to that seven year period has no vital role during the seven years of Tribulation. However, one should keep in mind that the Bible affirms that the Church is made up of individual Christians. If the rapture occurs according to pre-trib doctrine, many others will believe in the Jesus Christ of the Bible and will be saved, despite having missed the “rapture” and will now have to go through that tribulation period with everyone else on the Earth. When those people become new Christians, they will be part of “the Church” on earth during this time period. They will witness during the first three and one half years, and they will also witness during the last three and a half years, or 1260 days of the Great Tribulation, which follow. The pre-trib rapture is sometimes presented as minority opinion among Christians, but it has become popular in recent years around the world and through the work of dispensational preachers such as Tim LaHaye and Hal Lindsey.

The other main view is termed the Post Tribulation Rapture (or “Post-Trib”). This view admits the concept of “rapture” from 1 Thessalonians, but does not see an intervening 7-year period (or 3 and half- year period depending on scholar) between the rapture and the “second coming” of Christ. This viewpoint is that Christian believers will be on earth as witnesses to Christ during the entire seven years and right up until the last day of this age. This includes the final three and one half years of the age believed to be the time period of the Antichrist in his malevolent role as the Beast. The post-trib view is supported by Matthew 24:29-31 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days…they shall gather together his elect…” Both views hold that Christian believers will be either removed from, or protected from, the Doomsday judgement when the wrath of God falls and the wicked are carried off at the end of the age.

Both Pre-tribulation Rapture advocates, and post- Tribulation advocates would agree with the following:

  • The tribulation is the period of time when those on Earth who say that they want to live life on the Earth without God, get to actually try to do this – on their own without God. The fact that they were not “raptured” into Heaven to be with God during this time period, means that they chose to stay behind, since they could have voluntarily chosen to believe God and the Bible Prior to the Rapture.
  • Although no one can be sure when the Seven Year period of Tribulation occurs, there are several passages in the Bible (primarily in Daniel, Ezekiel and Revelation) that state specific events numbered down to the actual day – within the seven year period. Therefore after the seven year period of Tribulation has begun, people will be able to understand and predict the various catastrophes coming to the planet by studying an accurate version of the Bible.
  • The Tribulation – the seven year period of Great Difficulty – still can be divided into two time periods:
    • The First three and half years when God is simply absent from the Earth.
    • The Second three and half years when Satan actually rules the planet through his Emissaries. (The Tribulation is the overall seven year period. The “Great” tribulation usually refers to the last 3 and half years of the tribulation)

  • The end of the Seven Year period is marked by the return of those people who were Raptured along with all of those who have gone to Heaven until that point in time. All of those people return under the Guidance of Christ who comes to judge the Earth and its inhabitants for deciding to align themselves with the forces of Satan. (the Bible presents Satan as a fallen archangel, a spiritual being of great and wicked power who deceives the world into following him)

It is called the Great tribulation because the saints of God are beheaded for not worshipping the antichrist. This is also known as the hour of temptation and when the saints are killed. This is also the time that the days are shortened for the elects sake. They will not take his mark therefore they face great tribulation (Revelation 6:9-11, Revelation 20:4). God is not absent from the earth but speaks through them by his spirit while they are in prison that even the gainsayers can’t resist. The two witnesses preach for three and one half years and the spirit of God raises them up at Christ’s return.

A third view is that believers will remain on Earth for the first half of the Tribulation and will be raptured at the mid-point of the seven-year Tribulation, which is the start of the Great Tribulation. Each of these Tribulation theories has added credibility through various scriptures; however, each has weaknesses that can diminish theory credibility as well. For example, an argument against the Pre-Trib theory exists in Mark 13: 19, 24-26 (NAS) which reads,

“For those days will be a time of tribulation such as has not occurred since the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never wil But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory” … After that tribulation, Then they will see …!” Surely this provides substantial footing for those who advocate the mid-trib stance. The words “after” and “then” render the question, “After, or Then what!?” To these questions one must answer, “After the tribulation!” The problem with these assertions is found in verses such as Matthew 24:42 (NAS), “Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming” and Mark 13:33 (NAS), “Take heed, keep on the alert; for you do not know when the appointed time is.”

Alternative Rapture Viewpoints

Pre-wrath rapture

The Prewrath Rapture view teaches that at the midpoint of the “7 year period” the “abomination of desolation” will begin the Antichrist’s Great Tribulation (this is not God’s wrath; rather the object of persecution during this time will be the church, not the ungodly). Then according to Jesus sometime during the Great Tribulation–we do not know the day or hour–it will be cut short (not the 70th week cut short, rather the Great Tribulation which is Antichrist’s persecution) with the Coming of Christ to deliver the righteous (rapture) and then the subsequent Day of the Lord’s wrath against the ungodly will follow for the remaining 7 year period.

Pre-tribulation rapture already in process

The fourth view is a more recent addition that claims that the Rapture is a three step process according to I Thessalonians 4:13-18. The three steps being the Shout voice trump. The Shout being a message to turn the hearts of the children (last day Christians) to the fathers (Apostolic). Malachi 4:5-6 John the Baptist fulfilled the first part of turning the hearts of the fathers (old covenant) to the children (new covenant)] Therefore, the Rapture has already started and will be completed with the Voice of the Resurrection and the Trumpet which calls them to the feast in the sky also called the wedding supper.

Secret Rapture

A common interpretation that is quite popular is sometimes referred to as the “secret Rapture”. Corinthians says Christians will all be transformed in the twinkling of an eye. Thessalonians says Christians will be caught up. This seems to be quickly, as snatching up is not a slow process. However, when Jesus returned to heaven his followers saw him go up. When Eliyahu was taken up Elisha saw him go up. Some views posit that there is no scriptural instance of a person vanishing instantly in the past, which is what the “secret Rapture” interpretation teaches; however, in the Old Testament, Chanokh was “raptured” by God instantaneously: “And Chanokh walked with God: and he (was) not; for God took him” (Genesis 5:24). Nevertheless, the rapture does not necessarily have to have a precursor of the same type to make it possible.

Tradition and the timing of the rapture

Some challenges of the validity of The Rapture are based in the famous “fig tree” parable of Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew, specifically Matthew 24:36: “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only”. However, it should be noted that Matthew 24:36 does not specifically refer to the Rapture, but rather to that time when Heaven and Earth pass away. This event takes place at the end of the millennial reign of Jesus Christ.

Another biblical reference frequently cited by Rapture theorists, Matthew 24:40-41, does not refer to the Rapture either: “Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.” This parable is repeated Luke 17:35-37: “Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, (literal translation) Wheresoever the (dead) body (fallen in battle) is, there will the vultures be gathered together.” This does not refer to the rapture of the church. Jesus answers that these people are taken to a battlefield and are dead and putrefying, having fallen in battle, pointing to an event later in time referred to in Revelation 16:14: “For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

The Rapture

Now that we have learned that all the views on the Rapture theory have Christians being taken from the earth by Elohim into heaven, lets look at some of the supporting scriptures used to see if they have been properly contextualized.

But we don’t want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who have fallen asleep, so that you don’t grieve like the rest, who have no hope. For if we believe that Yahshua died and rose again, even so Elohim will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Yahshua. For this we tell you by the word of YAH, that we who are alive, who are left to the coming of the Master, will in no way precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Master himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the chief angel, and with

Elohim’s trumpet. The dead in the Anointed will rise first, then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Master in the air. So we will be with the Master forever. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 RNEB)
Shaul said that Yahshua will descend from heaven with a shout, and that the dead in the Anointed shall rise first, followed by those alive in the Anointed. Nevertheless, can we understand this as saying we meet in Heaven?

Yahshua said therefore again to them, “I am going away, and you will seek me, and you will die in your sins. Where I go, you can’t come.” (John 8:21 RNEB)
Little children, I will be with you a little while longer. You will seek me, and as I said to the Hebrews, ‘Where I am going, you can’t come,’ so now I tell you. (John 13:33 RNEB)

Yahshua said where he goes, we cannot follow. Yahshua ascended into heaven to be with the father. Therefore, these scriptures are clear we cannot go to heaven. So, what does it mean when scripture says we will meet him in the air? Is there just one heaven?

Elohim said, “Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of sky.” (Genesis 1:20 RNEB)

Heaven also refers to the sky just above us.

I know a man in the Anointed, fourteen years ago (whether in the body, I don’t know, or whether out of the body, I don’t know; Elohim knows), such a one caught up into the third heaven. (2 Corinthians 12:2 RNEB)

Here we see there is more than one heaven, this scripture refers to three. We can define them as follows.

  1. The first heaven is above the earth, where we see the clouds.
  2. The second heaven is where the stars are.
  3. The third heaven is where Elohim and the angels abide.

We should also be aware that Shaul, in first Thessalonians says that the dead in the Anointed shall rise first. If the dead followers of Elohim went to heaven immediately upon death as many teach, why would they have to be raised at Yahshua’s return? Does scripture promise anyone living or dead a place in heaven?

For the living know that they will die, but the dead don’t know anything, neither do they have any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, their hatred, and their envy has perished long ago; neither have they any more a portion forever in anything that is done under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 9:5-6 RNEB)
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, where you are going. (Ecclesiastes 9:10 RNEB)

Solomon clearly tells us the dead don’t know anything, there is no wisdom, knowledge, or device in the grave.

As the cloud is consumed and vanishes away, so he who goes down to the grave shall come up no more. He shall return no more to his house, neither shall his place know him any more. (Job 7:9-10 RNEB)

This scripture answers many questions, so much for ghosts or people walking about as spirits.

Remember, I beg you, that you have fashioned me as clay. Will you bring me into dust again? (Job 10:9 RNEB)

The destination of all mankind is dust. As we move forward we will see the order of things is death, dust, resurrection than judgment.

so man lies down and doesn’t rise. Until the heavens are no more, they shall not awake, nor be roused out of their sleep. (Job 14:12 RNEB)

Man lies down when he dies until the heavens are no more. Lets see when this occurs.

I saw a great white throne, and him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. There was found no place for them. I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and they opened books. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works. (Revelation 20:11-12 RNEB)

It was not just Job who spoke of death, dust, resurrection and judgment, so did David in Psalms, Isaiah, Solomon, Yahshua, Shaul, and others. There are many religious bodies such as Christendom and Judaism that teach a very different theology than what scripture dictates. This type of false teaching has led to doctrines such as the rapture, reincarnation, wondering spirits, and many other foolish ideas.

There are two accounts in scripture that many use as proof for their heaven theology. These accounts are about Chanokh and Eliyahu, as well as the incident on the mount of transfiguration. Lets look at the scriptural accounts of these events.

Chanokh lived sixty-five years, and became the father of Metushelach. Chanokh walked with Elohim after he became the father of Metushelach three hundred years, and became the father of sons and daughters. All the days of Chanokh were three hundred sixty-five years. Chanokh walked with Elohim, and he was not, for Elohim took him. (Genesis 5:21-24 RNEB)

Took here means to, take, get, fetch, and carry away. So, where did Elohim take Chanokh? Many believe it was heaven, but is this assumption correct?

By faith, Chanokh was taken away, so that he wouldn’t see death, and he was not found, because Elohim translated him. For he has had testimony given to him that before his translation he had been well pleasing to Elohim. (Hebrews 11:5 RNEB)

Chanokh was translated, which means to change from one function or state to another. Shaul was actually saying Chanokh was changed from one state to another, that he should not see death. Does this mean he didn’t die? Lets look at an example of someone being translated.

But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. (Genesis 19:26 RNEB)

Here is a incident that occurred where someone was translated into a pillar of salt. Can we assume she was dead? I think so. We see that the instant she looked back, she died.

Is it possible this is what happened to Chanokh, that he simply died, that he was translated from a living person to a dead person in a single moment? Remember what YAH said to Adam, the first man he created.

By the sweat of your face will you eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” (Genesis 3:19 RNEB)

The declaration or promise made to Adam was he would return to dust, this would apply to all men. Chanokh a descendant of Adam was translated to dust, probably just as Elohim took Moshe into the mountain and translated him from a living man to a dead man. Shaul bore further witness to this in the book of Hebrews.

Inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once, and after this, judgment, (Hebrews 9:27 RNEB)

Lets review what scripture says about Eliyahu.

They said to him, See now, there are with your servants fifty strong men; let them go, we pray you, and seek your master, lest the Spirit of YAH has taken him up, and cast him on some mountain, or into some valley. He said, You shall not send. When they urged him until he was ashamed, he said, Send. They sent therefore fifty men; and they sought three days, but didn’t find him. They came back to him, while he stayed at Yericho; and he said to them, “Didn’t I tell you, ‘Don’t go?'” (2 Kings 2:16-18 RNEB)

The first thing we have to ask is why would the sons of the prophets search for Eliyahu’s body if they believed that it had been taken into heaven? This verse and the preceding ones showed us that the sons of the prophets were preparing Elisha for Eliyahu’s departure, and they knew the day he would be taken by Elohim, however they didn’t know where. Because Eliyahu died as a Holy man of YAH and was taken by him to be buried, this was one of the reasons why the prophets wanted to search for the body. We can also see that Elohim made his prophets aware that Eliyahu was going to be taken, but yet none of the prophets expected that he would be taken off the earth. The idea of a rapture is not of Hebrew origin, and they had no concept of such an action because it is not the natural course of man, nor a promise from YAH.

Moshe was taken and his body was never found by his people.

YAH said to him, This is the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, I will give it to your seed: I have caused you to see it with your eyes, but you shall not go over there. So Moshe the servant of YAH died there in the land of Mo’av, according to the word of YAH. He buried him in the valley in the land of Mo’av over against Beit-Pe`or: but no man knows of his tomb to this day. (Deuteronomy 34:4-6 RNEB)

As mentioned earlier, we see in the scriptures Moshe’s body was taken and buried by Elohim. Although no man ever found his body, we know he did not go to heaven but was simply buried. Eliyahu was taken and simply buried in the same manor.

After six days, Yahshua took with him Peter, Jacob, and Yochanan his brother, and brought them up into a high mountain by themselves. He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his garments became as white as the light. Behold, Moshe and Eliyahu appeared to them talking with him. (Matthew 17:1-3 RNEB)

Many talk about Moshe and Eliyahu because of their appearance before Yahshua, but scripture clearly stated that no man has ascended into heaven before Yahshua, so where did Moshe and Eliyahu come from? Could they have been spirits? No! The bible says that all who are born of Man are flesh not spirits.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit. (John 3:6 RNEB)

Man has the breath in his nostrils which is a spirit TYPE called the “Neshmat” or “the breath of life” given to Adam from YAH, and passed down to every man so that he may live, accompanied by a conscience, which is also stated as a type of spirit in scripture, lets side track for a moment to look at this more closely.

YAH Elohim formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. (Genesis 2:7 RNEB)

People commonly speak of a spirit as an entity that’s separate from the body it abides in. This theo-metaphysical point of view is not scriptural, but paganistic. Man is created from the dust of the earth with oxygen breathed into his lungs to vitalize his organs in order to produce breath, a systematic rhythm flow of oxygen produced by organs carried throughout the body by the blood so that life can be sustained, this is one of the two forms of spirit that gives man life.

In addition, the conscience of man which is used to determine right and wrong is a spirit type, an intangible created to govern Man in the protocols of righteousness. If YAH created Man and gave him breath to live, then what gives him the mind to determine right and wrong? The oxygen is carried through the blood so that man may live in order to serve YAH according to his dictates and commandments through a conscience state of mind and being. Lets look at scripture to validate these points.

For as to the life of all flesh, its blood is with its life: therefore I said to the children of Yisra’el, “You shall not eat the blood of any kind of flesh; for the life of all flesh is its blood. Whoever eats it shall be cut off.” (Leviticus 17:14 RNEB)
If he set his heart on himself, If he gathered to himself his spirit and his breath, all flesh would perish together, and man would turn again to dust. (Job 34:14-15 RNEB)
Elohim said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before me, for the earth is filled with violence through them. Behold, I will destroy them with the earth. (Genesis 6:13 RNEB)
All flesh died that moved on the earth, including birds, livestock, animals, every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, and every man. All in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, of all that was on the dry land, died. (Genesis 7:21-22 RNEB)

Job said spirit and breath would be gathered (taken). Here the breath and conscience are taken.

(for when Gentiles who don’t have the law do by nature the things of the law, these, not having the law, are a law to themselves, in that they show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience testifying with them, and their thoughts among themselves accusing or else excusing them) (Romans 2:14-15 RNEB)
through the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron; (1 Timothy 4:2 RNEB)

Man was given a conscience, which in Hebrew is called Ruach meaning spirit, an intangible driving force behind decisions and judgments of what’s right and wrong, and righteous and unrighteous, as Shaul says “IT” bears witness to us. Both the breath of life and a conscience were given to us at birth so that we may first live, and secondly walk in an Elohim fearing state of mind governed by the conscience. Lets get back to Eliyahu and Moshe making a grand entrance when the scriptures say they were supposed to be dead.

As they were coming down from the mountain, Yahshua commanded them, saying, “Don’t tell anyone what you saw, until the Son of Man has risen from the dead.” (Matthew 17:9 RNEB)

This was a vision, not an actually material or literal event. Lets look further at this in the Gospel of Mark.

He said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, there are some standing here who will in no way taste death until they see the Kingdom of Elohim come with power.” After six days Yahshua took with him Peter, Jacob, and Yochanan, and brought them up onto a high mountain privately by themselves, and he was changed into another form in front of them. His clothing became glistening, exceedingly white, like snow, such as no launderer on earth can whiten them. Eliyahu and Moshe appeared to them, and they were talking with Yahshua. (Mark 9:1-4 RNEB)

Yahshua was speaking to the twelve apostles, and said some of them, not all, would see a glimpse of the kingdom. Who saw what the kingdom would look like? Lets reread part of the event, “And after six days Yahshua took with him Peter, Jacob, and Yochanan, and brought them up onto a high mountain privately by themselves, and he was changed into another form in front of them”. This was the fulfillment of Yahshua’s prophecy. YAH has and will continue to speak to his prophets and show them things to come through dreams and visions.

After these things the word of YAH came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Don’t be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.” (Genesis 15:1 RNEB)
He said, Hear now my words: if there be a prophet among you, I YAH will make myself known to him in a vision, I will speak with him in a dream. (Numbers 12:6 RNEB)
Then you spoke in vision to your holy ones, and said, “I have bestowed strength on the warrior. I have exalted a young man from the people. (Psalms 89:19 RNEB)
The vision of Isaiah the son of Amotz, which he saw concerning Judah and Yerushalayim, in the days of `Uzziyah, Yotam, Achaz, and Chizkiyahu, kings of Judah. (Isaiah 1:1 RNEB)
This is the Revelation (Vision) of Yahshua the Anointed, which Elohim gave him to show to his servants the things which must happen soon, which he sent and made known by his angel to his servant, Yochanan, (Revelation 1:1 RNEB)

At this point in this study, we have determined that although the rapture doctrine says that those who are caught up will be taken to heaven, scripture tells us that no man has ascended.

Now that we know that no man has ascended into heaven except at the resurrection of Yahshua, lets take another look at first Thessalonians.

For the Master himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the chief angel, and with Elohim’s trumpet. The dead in the Anointed will rise first, then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Master in the air. So we will be with the Master forever. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 RNEB)

Scripture is teaching that Yahshua was prophesied to return in like manner, the same way he left, he would return. The dead shall rise first, then those that remain will meet him in the air (sky) to be with him always on earth. Yahshua was returning to earth not just coming for a visit.

When he had said these things, as they were looking, he was taken up, and a cloud received him out of their sight. While they were looking steadfastly into the sky as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white clothing, who also said, “You men of the Galil, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Yahshua, who was received up from you into the sky will come back in the same way as you saw him going into the sky.” Then they returned to Yerushalayim from the mountain called Olivet, which is near Yerushalayim, a Sabbath day’s journey away. (Acts 1:9-12 RNEB)

The Anointed ascended to heaven from the Mount of Olives, and as we will confirm in the next scripture he will return to the Mount of Olives. The Anointed is not returning halfway to the earth to snatch up a bunch of people and then return with them to heaven. If, as many would have us believe the Anointed will return to earth just to rapture believers, it would mean that there would have to be a THIRD advent, one for his birth, a second advent for the rapture of believers and a third for war. The event spoken of in first Thessalonians is Yahshua’s second return or advent, at the end of the tribulation period, which marks two advents not three. Scripture does not support a third advent.

Behold, a day of YAH comes, when your spoil will be divided in your midst. For I will gather all nations against Yerushalayim to battle; and the city will be taken, the houses rifled, and the women ravished. Half of the city will go out into captivity, and the rest of the people will not be cut off from the city. Then YAH will go out and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. His feet will stand in that day on the Mount of Olives, which is before Yerushalayim on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in two, from east to west, making a very great valley. Half of the mountain will move toward the north, and half of it toward the south. (Zechariah 14:1-4 RNEB)
Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, including those who pierced him. All the tribes of the earth will mourn over him. Even so, Amein. (Revelation 1:7 RNEB)
But immediately after the oppression of those days, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken; and then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky. Then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. He will send out his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other. (Matthew 24:29-31 RNEB)

Now that we have confirmed that Yahshua will be returning to the earth, it’s apparent that those who are caught up with him in the air will be returning to the earth with Yahshua as well.

Christianity teaches that only saved Christians will rise to meet the Anointed. Shaul in first Thessalonians said that the dead in the Anointed (or the dead in Christ) shall rise first. Do they both mean the same thing? What does it mean to be in the Anointed?

Being In The Anointed

Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” (Acts 2:37 RNEB)

This question is being asked after Peter gives his sermon, just after the Holy Spirit fell on the apostles on the day of Pentecost. They are asking what must be done in order to receive eternal life.

He said, “Into what then were you purified?” They said, “Into Yochanan’s immersion.” Sha’ul said, “Yochanan indeed purified with the immersion of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe in the one who would come after him, that is, in Yahshua.” WHEN THEY HEARD THIS, THEY WERE PURIFIED IN THE NAME OF MASTER YAHSHUA. (Acts 19:3-5 RNEB)
be it known to you all, and to all the people of Yisra’el, that in the name of Yahshua the Anointed of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom Elohim raised from the dead, in him does this man stand here before you whole. (Acts 4:10 RNEB)

We must repent and be baptized (purified) in the name of Yahshua the Anointed, not in any other name! So, those who have died “in the Anointed” are those who have repented and been purified in the name of Yahshua the Anointed. It’s these who have died “in the Anointed” that will rise first to meet Yahshua in the air and then return with him to the earth.

Behold, I tell you a mystery. We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, AND THE DEAD WILL BE RAISED INCORRUPTIBLE, AND WE WILL BE CHANGED. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. But when this corruptible will have put on incorruption, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then what is written will happen: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” (1 Corinthians 15:51-54 RNEB)

Shaul is confirming that in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, those who are still alive in the Anointed when Yahshua returns shall be changed, from the incorruptible flesh of man to a new immortal body. This is why he said “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?”

I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Yahshua, and for the word of Elohim, and such as didn’t worship the beast nor his image, and didn’t receive the mark on their forehead and on their hand. They lived, and reigned with the Anointed for the thousand years. The rest of the dead didn’t live until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. (Revelation 20:4-5 RNEB)

The righteous are those who serve Elohim.

One who believes in the Son has eternal life, but one who disobeys the Son won’t see life, but the wrath of Elohim remains on him.” (John 3:36 RNEB)

It appears to be simple, just believe, and we will receive everlasting life, but lets look at what it means to believe.

“Don’t think that I will accuse you to the Father. There is one who accuses you, even Moshe, on whom you have set your hope. For if you believed Moshe, you would believe me; for he wrote about me. But if you don’t believe his writings, how will you believe my words?” (John 5:45-47 RNEB)

Yahshua is telling the Scribes and Pharisees that if they had believed Moshe, then they would recognize him as the Anointed. We know they believed that Moshe wrote what he wrote, however was it understood and properly practiced in their lives? It looks like there’s more to believing than just acknowledging someone exists.

Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself. Yes, a man will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without works, and I by my works will show you my faith. You believe that Elohim is one. You do well. The demons also believe, and shudder. But do you want to know, vain man, that faith apart from works is dead? (James 2:17-20 RNEB)

Someone that’s serving YAH does believe, but the evidence that shows that they do is their works. Works are defined as activities in which one exerts strength or faculties to do or perform something. So, what works are being spoken of?

Wasn’t Abraham our father justified by works, in that he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? You see that faith worked with his works, and by works faith was perfected; and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed Elohim, and it was accounted to him as righteousness;” and he was called the friend of Elohim. You see then that by works, a man is justified, and not only by faith. (James 2:21-24 RNEB)

Obedience to YAH’s word is works. Abraham was willing to give up his son, what are you willing to do to walk in obedience? YAH expects us to give up our own will and conform to his will. He wants us to love him and keep all the ordinances of the covenant.

One of them, a Torah scholar, asked him a question, testing him. “Rabbi, which is the greatest commandment in the Torah?” Yahshua said to him, “‘You shall love YAH your Elohim with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. A second likewise is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ The whole Torah and the Prophets depend on these two commandments.” (Matthew 22:35-40 RNEB)

So, if we just love him and love our neighbors that’s all we need to know? Yes as long as we understand and have been instructed in how to love YAH and our neighbor. The Torah and the ten Commandments were given to us to provide instructions on how we can live an obedient life and serve YAH.

You shall have no other elohims before me. “You shall not make an engraved image for yourself, [nor] any likeness [of anything] that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: you shall not bow down yourself to them, nor serve them; for I, YAH, your Elohim, am a jealous Elohim, visiting the lawlessness of the fathers on the children, and on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me; and showing loving kindness to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments. “You shall not take the name of YAH your Elohim in vain: for YAH will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain. “Observe the day of Sabbath, to keep it holy, as YAH your Elohim commanded you. Six days shall you labor, and do all your work; but the seventh day is a Sabbath to YAH your Elohim: [in it] you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates; that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you. You shall remember that you were a servant in the land of Egypt, and YAH your Elohim brought you out of there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm: therefore YAH your Elohim commanded you to keep the day of Sabbath. “Honor your father and your mother, as YAH your Elohim commanded you; that your days may be long, and that it may go well with you, in the land which YAH your Elohim gives you. “You shall not murder. “Neither shall you commit adultery. “Neither shall you steal. “Neither shall you give false testimony against your neighbor. “Neither shall you covet your neighbor’s wife; neither shall you desire your neighbor’s house, his field, or his male servant, or his female servant, his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.” (Deuteronomy 5:7-21 RNEB)

Notice the first four deal with loving YAH, while the last six apply to loving our neighbors. Yahshua often emphasized these commandments in his teachings because they were often ignored by the religious leaders of his day.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint, dill, and cumin, and have left undone the weightier matters of the Torah: justice, mercy, and faith. But you ought to have done these, and not to have left the other undone. (Matthew 23:23 RNEB)

Yahshua makes a clear statement “These need to have been done”. Today, most Christians ignore the first four commandments, many bow to idols (Crosses, Statues, Pictures, etc..), a large majority of Christendom takes his name in vain without realizing it, and almost all of them are not keeping the Sabbath. Sadly, the Sabbath has either been changed or ignored. Most people seem to only be concerned with loving their neighbor, but it’s just as important, if not more important for us to show our love for YAH. Part of loving YAH is worshipping Him in the way he desires us to. This requires us to follow the Torah, the instructions he provided for us to live righteously and set-apart (holy) before him. He wants us to keep all Sabbath days, his appointed times (Feasts, convocations) and honor him with our obedience.

The Torah (Law) is not a heavy burden. Understanding how Elohim wants us to serve and love him brings liberty [freedom from oppression or imprisonment]. We cannot serve him with things that seem right in our own eyes, but we need to honor him by doing things that are right in his eyes.

YAH’s law is perfect, restoring the soul. YAH’s testimony is sure, making wise the simple. (Psalms 19:7 RNEB)
If you love me, keep my commandments. I will pray to the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, that he may be with you forever,– the Spirit of truth, whom the world can’t receive; for it doesn’t see him, neither knows him. You know him, for he lives with you, and will be in you. (John 14:15-17 RNEB)
“Why do you call me, ‘Master, Master,’ and don’t do the things which I say? Everyone who comes to me, and hears my words, and does them, I will show you who he is like. He is like a man building a house, who dug and went deep, and laid a foundation on the rock. When a flood arose, the stream broke against that house, and could not shake it, because it was founded on the rock. But he who hears, and doesn’t do, is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream broke, and immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great.” (Luke 6:46-49 RNEB)

The one who built his house on a rock was obedient to YAH’s word as his foundation. The one who built his house on the sand only acknowledged his words and did not act on them.

Lets go deeper, there is more than just knowing and keeping the commandments. There are many doing these but all in pretense (inadequate or insincere attempt). Someone who loves YAH and his neighbor will show this love in their personality and the overall spirit about them. If we have truly become part of Elohim we will have been implanted with his seed, and the fruit (characteristics) of that seed should be evident in our lives. Lets look at what characteristics we should be displaying as Elohim’s people.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to the Anointed have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. (Galatians 5:22-25 RNEB)

This is the heart of YAH’s Torah and Commandments. If we are walking in the love of YAH, which is expressed in the spirit and truth of Torah (the law), the fruit of the spirit would be evident in our lives, and we would be living and walking in the spirit. The true disciple (follower) would not transgress Torah, because they would despise any act that was contrary to YAH’s will.

Those who have died in the Anointed and walk righteously, and who have been baptized (purified) in Yahshua’s name are those who will take part in the first resurrection; they will receive a new incorruptible body.

The secular source we used to show the history and theories of the Rapture says that there are multiple schools of thought regarding the tribulation, one which says that believers will be raptured before the tribulation, another point of view believes that the rapture will occur at the mid point, and another after a 7-year tribulation. However, can these beliefs be supported by scripture? Since our secular source has referenced Daniel in referring to Daniel’s 70th Week as the seven-year Tribulation period, lets take a look at this to see what it says.

Seventy Weeks of Daniel

Seventy weeks are decreed on your people and on your holy city, to finish disobedience, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for lawlessness, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy. (Daniel 9:24 RNEB)
After the sixty-two weeks the Anointed One shall be cut off, and shall have nothing: and the people of the prince who shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end of it shall be with a flood, and even to the end shall be war; desolations are determined. He shall make a firm covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease; and on the wing of abominations [shall come] one who makes desolate; and even to the full end, and that determined, shall [wrath] be poured out on the desolate. (Daniel 9:26-27 RNEB)

The Vision Daniel received tells us that a covenant will be confirmed for one week. From the rapture history, we saw this is equated with a 7 year tribulation. So, how does one week equal seven years?

One Day Equals One Year

The following are some examples of a day representing a year.

  1. “A day for each year” in the account of the ten spies coming back with a bad report to Moshe about the promised land after spying it out for 40 days. And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcasses be wasted in the wilderness. After the number of the days in which you searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years…” (Numbers 14:33,34)
  2. Ezekiel is told to lie on his side 390 plus 40 days — – “a day for each year:””Lie thou also upon thy left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Yisrael upon it: according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon it thou shalt bear their iniquity. For I have laid upon thee the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days: so shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of Yisrael. And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year” (Ezekiel 4:4-6).
  3. The Law of Moshe commands that the 7th day be a day of rest, and that likewise the 7th year be a year of rest, (Ex. 20:8-11; 23:10-11). This lays a pattern for the prophecy of Daniel’s seventy weeks.

We can see how one week is equated to 7 years in scripture. In Daniel’s vision Yahshua will confirm the covenant with many for one week, which the rapture history reference uses to justify a 7-year tribulation period. However, Daniel goes on to say that in the midst of the week he (Yahshua) shall cause the slaughtering and the meal offering to cease. What does this mean?

The sacrifices and oblations (meal offerings) were a part of the old covenant, the Levitical order. However, upon Yahshua’s death, after his three and a half year ministry, we can see in Matthew 27:51 that the veil of the temple was split in two, from the top to the bottom. The veil represented the separation of the inner court of the temple from the Holy of Holies, where the Levitical priests performed the sacrifices and oblations. Yahshua, upon his death, caused the sacrifice and the oblation to cease.

Yahshua fulfilled half of the one week or half of the seven years. He fulfilled three-and-a-half years. There is still three-and-a-half years to be fulfilled, not seven years. Do the scriptures speak of a seven year tribulation period, or do they instead speak of a three-and-a-half year tribulation period?

YAH is a jealous Elohim and avenges. YAH avenges and is full of wrath. YAH takes vengeance on his adversaries, and he maintains wrath against his enemies. YAH is slow to anger, and great in power, and will by no means leave the guilty unpunished. YAH has his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. (Nahum 1:2-3 RNEB)
YAH is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows those who take refuge in him. But with an overflowing flood, he will make a full end of her place, and will pursue his enemies into darkness. (Nahum 1:7-8 RNEB)

YAH is a jealous Elohim and cannot condone sin, he will take vengeance on his enemies. What could cause YAH to take his vengeance out on the inhabitants of the earth?

Behold, YAH makes the earth empty, makes it waste, turns it upside down, and scatters its inhabitants. It will be as with the people, so with the Priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the creditor, so with the debtor; as with the taker of interest, so with the giver of interest. The earth will be utterly emptied and utterly laid waste; for YAH has spoken this word. The earth mourns and fades away. The world languishes and fades away. The lofty people of the earth languish. (Isaiah 24:1-4 RNEB)

This scripture says the earth will be made desolate in the latter days, the inhabitants scattered, the land emptied. What would cause YAH’s judgment to come upon the inhabitants of the earth in such a harsh way?

The earth also is polluted under its inhabitants, because they have transgressed the laws, violated the statutes, and broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore the curse has devoured the earth, and those who dwell therein are found guilty. Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left. (Isaiah 24:5-6 RNEB)

The earth has been defiled because the people have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance and broken the everlasting covenant.

Come near, you nations, to hear! Listen, you peoples. Let the earth and all it contains hear; the world, and everything that comes from it. For YAH is enraged against all the nations, and angry with all their armies. He has utterly destroyed them. He has given them over for slaughter. (Isaiah 34:1-2 RNEB)
For YAH has a day of vengeance, a year of recompense for the cause of Tziyon. (Isaiah 34:8 RNEB)

The tribulation is a time in which ALL the people of the earth will be witnesses to YAH’s wrath, his righteous anger, due to the trespasses the nations have committed against his holy laws. The most popular rapture doctrine teaches that Christians will be saved from this period by being taken to heaven to wait out his wrath. The scriptures tell us that YAH’s wrath will be on all nations. Does this mean that all the inhabitants of the earth must endure the tribulation?

For the day of YAH is near all the nations! As you have done, it will be done to you. Your deeds will return upon your own head. For as you have drunk on my holy mountain, so will all the nations drink continually. Yes, they will drink, swallow down, and will be as though they had not been. (Obadiah 1:15-16 RNEB)
After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude, which no man could number, out of every nation and of all tribes, peoples, and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands. They cried with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation be to our Elohim, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” All the angels were standing around the throne, the elders, and the four living creatures; and they fell on their faces before his throne, and worshiped Elohim, saying, “Amein! Blessing, glory, wisdom, thanksgiving, honor, power, and might, be to our Elohim forever and ever! Amein.” One of the elders answered, saying to me, “These who are arrayed in white robes, who are they, and from where did they come?” I told him, “My master, you know.” He said to me, “These are those who came out of the great tribulation. They washed their robes, and made them white in the Lamb’s blood. (Revelation 7:9-14 RNEB)

All NATIONS, KINDREDS, PEOPLE and TONGUES have endured the great tribulation. We don’t see anywhere in Scripture that Christians are to be snatched out of it. What we do see is that a great multitude of people will come out of the tribulation that have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb, in other words, they have been purified in the name of Yahshua the Anointed, and pledged to keep the covenant Elohim set forth in the beginning.

The day of YAH (the tribulation) will be visited on all people and the scriptures do not support the rapture doctrine which says Christians will not be here. Lets see if the scripture shows anyone being protected from it.

For, behold, the days come, says YAH, that I will turn again the captivity of my people Yisra’el and Judah, says YAH; and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it. (Jeremiah 30:3 RNEB)
Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it. It shall come to pass in that day, says YAH of Armies, that I will break his yoke from off your neck, and will burst your bonds; and strangers shall no more make him their bondservant; (Jeremiah 30:7-8 RNEB)

The word that came to Jeremiah states that Yisrael and Judah shall be saved from the day of YAH’s vengeance.

Therefore don’t you be afraid, O Jacob my servant, says YAH; neither be dismayed, Yisra’el: for, behold, I will save you from afar, and your seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be quiet and at ease, and none shall make him afraid. (Jeremiah 30:10 RNEB)

This further confirms that Yisrael will be kept safe during the Tribulation.

As I live, says YAH Elohim, surely with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out, will I be king over you: and I will bring you out from the peoples, and will gather you out of the countries in which you are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out; and I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there will I enter into judgment with you face to face. (Ezekiel 20:33-35 RNEB)
She gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron. Her child was caught up to Elohim, and to his throne. The woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by Elohim, that there they may nourish her one thousand two hundred sixty days. (Revelation 12:5-6 RNEB)
When the dragon saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child. Two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, so that she might be nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. (Revelation 12:13-14 RNEB)

Yisrael will be saved out of the tribulation by being carried away into the wilderness for three-and-a-half years. This is exactly what YAH did when he delivered his people out of Egyptian bondage and led them into the wilderness.

Christian doctrine using first Thessalonians 4:17 teaches that they will be saved out of the tribulation period by being carried off to heaven, so they will not have to endure the great and terrible day of YAH’s vengeance. However, we have shown this is not the case, lets review.

  1. No one will be carried off to heaven because no one was promised they would go to heaven.
  2. Those who have been purified (baptized) in the name of Yahshua will meet him in the air, but they will return with him to earth, not heaven.
  3. YAH’s vengeance is on all the inhabitants of the earth on account of the nations grievous transgressions.
  4. Yisrael (144000 protected by YAH) will be the only nation that will be kept safe during the three-and-a-half year tribulation period, All other nations will have to suffer through this terrible time.

Once again, Christianity has tried to replace themselves with YAH’s people, the Hebrew Yisraelites, natural and spiritual, but we have proven that this doctrine called “replacement theology” is unfounded scripturally. It’s not Christians who will be saved from the day of destruction, it will be Yisrael who will be saved out of it which Shaul speaks of in the book of Romans.

For I speak to you who are Gentiles. Since then as I am an emissary to Gentiles, I glorify my ministry; if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh, and may save some of them. For if the rejection of them is the reconciling of the world, what would their acceptance be, but life from the dead? If the first fruit is holy, so is the lump. If the root is holy, so are the branches. But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them, and became partaker with them of the root and of the richness of the olive tree; don’t boast over the branches. But if you boast, it is not you who support the root, but the root supports you. You will say then, “Branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.” True; by their unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by your faith. Don’t be conceited, but fear; for if Elohim didn’t spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you. (Romans 11:13-21 RNEB)

So, what will happen to the earth when the tribulation period is over? Since we have shown that no one will ascend into heaven, it should be obvious that the earth will be populated.

Elohim saw the earth, and saw that it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth. Elohim said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before me, for the earth is filled with violence through them. Behold, I will destroy them with the earth. (Genesis 6:12-13 RNEB)

YAH told Noah that he will destroy all flesh with the earth, however when YAH executed his vengeance upon the land with the flood he did not destroy the earth.

For thus says YAH who created the heavens, the Elohim who formed the earth and made it, who established it and didn’t create it a waste, who formed it to be inhabited: I am YAH; and there is no one else. (Isaiah 45:18 RNEB)

YAH created the earth in order for it to be inhabited. This is why he did not destroy the earth when he pronounced judgment on the land during Noah’s time, but destroyed all flesh within in it. The earth was not meant to be destroyed because it was created to be the dwelling place for mankind.

Then Peter answered, “Behold, we have left everything, and followed you. What then will we have?” Yahshua said to them, “Most certainly I tell you that you who have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on the throne of his glory, you also will sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Yisra’el. (Matthew 19:27-28 RNEB)

Since we have confirmed that there will not be anyone ascending or dwelling in heaven. We know the disciples will be sitting on their thrones and judging the twelve tribes of Yisrael on earth.

Attend to me, my people; and give ear to me, my nation: for a law shall go forth from me, and I will establish my justice for a light of the peoples. My righteousness is near, my salvation is gone forth, and my arms shall judge the peoples; the islands shall wait for me, and on my arm shall they trust. Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look on the earth beneath; for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment; and those who dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be forever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished. (Isaiah 51:4-6 RNEB)

YAH is saying that the earth will grow old like a garment, however, he also says that his salvation shall be forever. If the earth shall wax old like a garment, how can it be inhabited?

For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former things shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. (Isaiah 65:17 RNEB)
They shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them. (Isaiah 65:21 RNEB)
But, according to his promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells. (2 Peter 3:13 RNEB)
I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth have passed away, and the sea is no more. I saw the holy city, New Yerushalayim, coming down out of heaven from Elohim, made ready like a bride adorned for her husband. (Revelation 21:1-2 RNEB)

YAH will create a new earth, one that will replace the one that passed away.

Closing Comments

There is no RAPTURE. More importantly, since there is no rapture are we ready for the upcoming three-and-a-half years known as the tribulation period? Are we in the anointed walking righteously? This certainly is not a game, it’s important we understand Elohim’s word and walk in it, while holding the testimony of Yahshua the Anointed.

Scriptures warned about many false prophets and teachers going out into the world. We are in a time that’s very close to the end when there are many following the doctrines of devils. These are teachings that sound good and the superficial evidence provided in scripture is enough to grab those who are unlearned. They place their trust in what these self proclaimed “Men of God” teach, forgoing any discernment because they believe, “with so many followers” how can they be wrong?

The beliefs of the majority do not make something right or wrong. We were created with are own mind and the ability to reason and study. We should not be so quick to give this up. The only true guidance is Torah, Elohim’s word, no Other.

Man made religion may look like the real seed, but its fruit is very different. This religious body, for the most part is lawless and defiled before YAH.

For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but, having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside to fables. 2 Timothy 4:3-4 RNEB)
Not everyone who says to me, ‘Master, Master,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will tell me in that day, ‘Master, Master, didn’t we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?’ Then I will tell them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work lawlessness.’ (Matthew 7:21-23 RNEB)

What we see occurring today is an interpretation of scripture which is the very opposite of what was being taught by Yahshua and the Apostles. Christendom has adopted Greek thought and Gnostic rituals becoming completely lawless. The scriptures have been sanitized from their original cultural roots to further support the new Greek philosophies. The laws and ordinances of YAH have been wiped out, the old testament has become for then and not for now. The problem is exasperated further because those who partake in Christianity have no idea what has occurred.

If there arise in the midst of you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and he give you a sign or a wonder, and the sign or the wonder come to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, Let us go after other elohims, which you have not known, and let us serve them; YOU SHALL NOT LISTEN TO THE WORDS OF THAT PROPHET, OR TO THAT DREAMER OF DREAMS: FOR YAH YOUR ELOHIM PROVES YOU, TO KNOW WHETHER YOU LOVE YAH YOUR ELOHIM WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL. (Deuteronomy 13:1-3 RNEB)
Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of Elohim, BECAUSE MANY FALSE PROPHETS HAVE GONE OUT INTO THE WORLD. (1 John 4:1 RNEB)
But the Spirit says expressly that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons, (1 Timothy 4:1 RNEB)
Yahshua answered them, “Be careful that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Anointed,’ and will lead many astray. (Matthew 24:4-5 RNEB)
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves. (Matthew 7:15 RNEB)
For there will arise false messiahs, and false prophets, and they will show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones. (Matthew 24:24 RNEB)
Men will arise from among your own selves, SPEAKING PERVERSE THINGS, to draw away the disciples after them. (Acts 20:30 RNEB)
Let no one deceive you with empty words. For because of these things, the wrath of Elohim comes on the children of disobedience. (Ephesians 5:6 RNEB)
For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, MASQUERADING AS THE ANOINTED’S APOSTLES. And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light. It is no great thing therefore if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. (2 Corinthians 11:13-15 RNEB)
