The Seed Sown II

In this study we will examine the fruit of the seed in a systematic approach to continue to substantiate what the seed is that’s designed to bring about a character of holiness. We will also be answering the following questions.

  • What does the heart represent?
  • What standard are we judged by?
  • What is spiritual fruit?
  • What happens if we don’t produce spiritual fruit?
  • How do we receive the newness of life?
  • How do we know we are children of Elohim?
  • What is the word of Elohim?
  • How does Elohim perform a good work in us?
  • What has the power to manifest change in our lives?

In addition, we will continue to address the argument and theological notion that when a man becomes a believer in the Anointed he is endowed with the Holy Spirit which then assists him with his walk of righteousness.

Now the parable is this: THE SEED IS THE WORD OF ELOHIM. Those along the road are those who hear, then THE DEVIL COMES, AND TAKES AWAY THE WORD FROM THEIR HEART, that they may not believe and be saved. (Luke 8:11-12 RNEB)

The heart is the mind, it is in the mind where the seed or word dwells. As we think about what we hear and form a conclusion, it then begins to create an emotion or feeling. The term heart is used to describe the emotions that are produced after the mind receives information. Therefore, we must realize everything begins with the mind where we receive and process information, then an emotion is generated, the emotion will be manifested as a work or fruit.

Those on the rock are they who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; but these have no root, WHO BELIEVE FOR A WHILE, then fall away in time of temptation. (Luke 8:13 RNEB)

They received the word for a while, or moment, however it did not take root. Temptation in this verse means to be tested, which illustrates the writers intention much better. For example, someone hears what it means to be lawless, they understand it and realize how misguided they have been, but when they are put in a situation where they have to take a stand for what they heard, they can’t, it is too difficult, so they fall away.

That which fell among the thorns, these are those who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity. (Luke 8:14 RNEB)

These are the people who think the culture is too restrictive, the cares of this world are constantly putting them in positions where they are at odds with Elohim’s laws. Things like the need for riches have beguiled them, and the pleasures they seek are contrary to the standards that have been mandated by Elohim.

That in the good ground, these are such as in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, hold it tightly, and bring forth fruit with patience. (Luke 8:15 RNEB)

These are those that truly want to understand and practice the laws and precepts of Elohim. They hear the word and hold onto it tightly, as a result it bares fruit in their life because they seek understanding, the word roots in them, and they apply it. This takes patience, the manifestation of the word does not occur immediately, it requires time to grow.

The meaning of the word seed is a source or beginning; A Germ; Offspring; Progeny. The word is the seed of Elohim and it can take us several years to even start showing any type of fruit from the seed, this is not something that will happen quickly. One of the reasons for this is that we end up spending a lot of time questioning if the traditions that we were raised under are indeed wrong. We will be constantly challenging the law, reconciling in our mind what is truth and what is not based on what we already believe. It will only be by repetition and redundancy that we begin to see more of the truth and slowly walk out of darkness.

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves. BY THEIR FRUITS YOU WILL KNOW THEM. Do you gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles? (Matthew 7:15-16 RNEB)

We have to measure each other by the standards of Elohim, looking at each other as situations and opportunities arise for us to determine the others allegiance to the word of Elohim. If we don’t see the fruit of the spirit we know the word has not taken root. In other words, even though someone understands the theocratic process, they may have no motivation or incentive to follow it. Yahshua said, his brothers and sisters were those who know the word of Elohim and do it.

Even so, EVERY GOOD TREE PRODUCES GOOD FRUIT; but the corrupt tree produces evil fruit. A GOOD TREE CAN’T PRODUCE EVIL FRUIT, NEITHER CAN A CORRUPT TREE PRODUCE GOOD FRUIT. Every tree that doesn’t grow good fruit is cut down, and thrown into the fire. (Matthew 7:17-19 RNEB)

The tree represents the people, and the fruit is their works. Now all the fruit on every tree will not be perfect, however we should be looking for a very high yield of good fruit. We are not going to be perfect while we walk in these fleshly bodies, however Yahshua tells us to be perfect, strive for perfection as our father in heaven is perfect. We need to analyze and internalize the word if were going to act in accordance with the expectations of the Father, YAH.

Therefore, by their fruits you will know them. (Matthew 7:20 RNEB)
Now there were some present at the same time who told him about the Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. Yahshua answered them, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, no, but, unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way. Or those eighteen, on whom the tower in Shiloach fell, and killed them; do you think that they were worse offenders than all the men who dwell in Yerushalayim? I tell you, no, but, unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.” He spoke this parable. “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it, and found none. He said to the vine dresser, ‘Behold, these three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and found none. Cut it down. Why does it waste the soil?’ He answered, ‘Master, leave it alone this year also, until I dig around it, and fertilize it. If it bears fruit, fine; but if not, after that, you can cut it down.'” (Luke 13:1-9 RNEB)

First were told Pilate had killed some Galileans that had animal sacrifices, then Yahshua says to them,”Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered such things? He said no, but, unless you repent, you will perish the same way, and he continues in his exhortation. Ultimately, we learn that unless we repent and turn back to the laws and precepts of Elohim the end will always be the same.

We also have a parable of a man who planted a fig tree which produced no fruit for three years, so he told the vine dresser to cut it down, however the vine dresser who represents Yahshua, our mediator and High Priest intercedes for the tree which represents the people, and gets them another opportunity to bare fruit. We can see the same example when Moshe interceded on Yisrael’s behalf each time they turned from YAH, they were not producing any fruit and YAH wanted to cut them down, however Moshe interceded and softened the hand of YAH’s wrath.

Let me sing for my well beloved a song of my beloved about his vineyard. My beloved had a vineyard on a very fruitful hill. He dug it up, gathered out its stones, planted it with the choicest vine, built a tower in its midst, and also cut out a winepress therein. He looked for it to yield grapes, but it yielded wild grapes. “Now, inhabitants of Yerushalayim and men of Judah, please judge between me and my vineyard. What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? Why, when I looked for it to yield grapes, did it yield wild grapes? Now I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard. I WILL TAKE AWAY ITS HEDGE, AND IT WILL BE EATEN UP. I WILL BREAK DOWN ITS WALL OF IT, AND IT WILL BE TRAMPLED DOWN. (Isaiah 5:1-5 RNEB)

Elohim offered Yisrael peace, wealth within their necessity, and stability, but since they wanted to bring forth ungodly fruit, he removed the hedge that protected them so anyone could come in. The scripture says in the book of Ezekiel that Elohim gave them ordinances, statutes, judgments, and laws that were not good for them, but he did it because it was what the people wanted, so that’s what he gave them. Ultimately, Yisrael was dispersed from their land for their unrighteous ways. We need to be careful to follow the laws and precepts of Elohim as there presented in the first five books of the bible, or we may find ourselves being trampled down.

I will lay it a wasteland. It won’t be pruned nor hoed, but it will grow briers and thorns. I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain on it.” For the vineyard of YAH of Armies is the house of Yisra’el, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for justice, but, behold, oppression; for righteousness, but, behold, a cry of distress. (Isaiah 5:6-7 RNEB)

Elohim always looks at the fruit, which is how he knows what seed took root. There are many that are ever learning but never coming to the knowledge of truth. What fruit do you suppose is being produced in this case?

Now after I had delivered the deed of the purchase to Barukh the son of Neriyah , I prayed to YAH, saying, Ah Master YAH! behold, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm; there is nothing too hard for you, who show loving kindness to thousands, and recompense the lawlessness of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them; the great, the mighty Elohim, YAH of Armies is his name; great in counsel, and mighty in work; whose eyes are open on all the ways of the sons of men, to give everyone according to his ways, and ACCORDING TO THE FRUIT OF HIS DOINGS: (Jeremiah 32:16-19 RNEB)

The fruit of their doings refers to their works.

and they came in, and possessed it, BUT THEY DIDN’T OBEY YOUR VOICE, NEITHER WALKED IN YOUR TORAH; they have done nothing of all that you commanded them to do: THEREFORE YOU HAVE CAUSED ALL THIS EVIL TO COME ON THEM. (Jeremiah 32:23 RNEB)
To YAH our Elohim belong mercies and forgiveness; for we have rebelled against him; neither have we obeyed the voice of YAH our Elohim, TO WALK IN HIS LAWS, which he set before us by his servants the prophets. (Daniel 9:9-10 RNEB)

Enoch walked with Elohim and was translated by him. Noah walked with Elohim and was perfect, blameless, just, and upright before him. Abraham walked with Elohim and was called his friend because he kept his laws, statutes, commandments, and ordinances. Nowhere in scripture does it state these people had a holy spirit in them, they had the word of Elohim and chose to be obedient to it.

Yes, all Yisra’el have transgressed your law, even turning aside, that they should not obey your voice: therefore has the curse been poured out on us, and the oath that is written in the Torah of Moshe the servant of Elohim; for we have sinned against him. He has confirmed his words, which he spoke against us, and against our judges who judged us, by bringing on us a great evil; for under the whole sky has not been done as has been done on Yerushalayim. As it is written in the Torah of Moshe, all this evil is come on us: yet have we not entreated the favor of YAH our Elohim, that we should turn from our iniquities, and have discernment in your truth. Therefore has YAH watched over the evil, and brought it on us; for YAH our Elohim is righteous in all his works which he does, and we have not obeyed his voice. (Daniel 9:11-14 RNEB)

YAH was saying that there would not be any interceding by his hand on their behalf because when they practiced righteousness they were doing it to seek a return. They were not doing it because they were righteous and the law had become part of their character, their hearts were corrupt.

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? May it never be! We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer? Or don’t you know that all we who were purified into the Anointed Yahshua were purified into his death? We were buried therefore with him through immersion to death, that just like the Anointed was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life. (Romans 6:1-4 RNEB)

Yahshua provides us with a newness of life, as long as we have been purified in his name and acknowledge him as an example of how we should walk, which is in obedience to the laws of Elohim.

For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of his resurrection; (Romans 6:5 RNEB)
knowing this, THAT OUR OLD MAN WAS CRUCIFIED WITH HIM, THAT THE BODY OF SIN MIGHT BE DONE AWAY WITH, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin. (Romans 6:6 RNEB)

During the purification process, we are going down as the old man and coming up a new man cleansed from all our past iniquities.

For he who has died has been freed from sin. But if we died with the Anointed, we believe that we will also live with him; knowing that the Anointed, being raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no more has dominion over him! For the death that he died, he died to sin one time; but the life that he lives, he lives to Elohim. Thus also consider yourselves also to be dead to sin, but alive to Elohim in the Anointed Yahshua our Master. Therefore don’t let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. Neither present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to Elohim, as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to Elohim. For sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace. What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under law, but under grace? May it never be! DON’T YOU KNOW THAT TO WHOM YOU PRESENT YOURSELVES AS SERVANTS TO OBEDIENCE, HIS SERVANTS YOU ARE WHOM YOU OBEY; WHETHER OF SIN TO DEATH, OR OF OBEDIENCE TO RIGHTEOUSNESS? (Romans 6:7-16 RNEB)

Deuteronomy six says if we keep his laws, ordinances, and commandments it will be accounted to us as righteousness. The laws he’s talking about in this verse are the sacrificial ordinances that were nullified at Yahshua’s death and resurrection. We are no longer under the propitiation ordinances that required an animals blood, but were under the grace given us through Yahshua who has removed us from the Levitical ordinances and the animal sacrifices that once were the atonement for sin.

But thanks be to Elohim, that, whereas you were bondservants of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching whereunto you were delivered. Being made free from sin, you became bondservants of righteousness. I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh, for as you presented your members as servants to uncleanness and to wickedness upon wickedness, even so now present your members as servants to righteousness for sanctification. For when you were servants of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. What fruit then did you have at that time in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now, being made free from sin, and HAVING BECOME SERVANTS OF ELOHIM, YOU HAVE YOUR FRUIT OF SANCTIFICATION, AND THE RESULT OF ETERNAL LIFE. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of Elohim is eternal life in the Anointed Yahshua our Master. (Romans 6:17-23 RNEB)

If we are not rooted in the word of Elohim, will first stumble, then will fall away.

You blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and of the platter, that the outside of it may become clean also. (Matthew 23:26 RNEB)

We have to cleanse what’s on the inside, speaking about our mind. Before we can realize any type of external work, there must first be an internal work.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitened tombs, WHICH OUTWARDLY APPEAR BEAUTIFUL, BUT INWARDLY ARE FULL OF DEAD MEN’S BONES, AND OF ALL UNCLEANNESS. (Matthew 23:27 RNEB)
Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, BUT INWARDLY YOU ARE FULL OF HYPOCRISY AND LAWLESSNESS. (Matthew 23:28 RNEB)
The Father himself, who sent me, has testified about me. You have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his form. You don’t have his word living in you; because you don’t believe him whom he sent. (John 5:37-38 RNEB)

Yahshua was trained in this culture and was able to impress many of the elders as he recited the scriptures in the temple at twelve years of age, having the engrafted word dwelling in him richly to produce spiritual works.

BLESSED IS THE MAN WHO ENDURES TEMPTATION, FOR WHEN HE HAS BEEN APPROVED, he will receive the crown of life, which the Master promised to those who love him. (James 1:12 RNEB)

Elohim will weigh our commitment and spiritual alliance with him based on how we perform in different situations and circumstances as it is measured by his law and code of ethics. Everyone will go through this process until death. We will receive the crown of life if we endure this testing and love him, because if we love him, we will keep his commandments.

Whoever believes that Yahshua is the Anointed is born of Elohim. Whoever loves the father also loves the child who is born of him. BY THIS WE KNOW THAT WE LOVE THE CHILDREN OF ELOHIM, WHEN WE LOVE ELOHIM AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. FOR THIS IS THE LOVE OF ELOHIM, THAT WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. His commandments are not grievous. (1 John 5:1-3 RNEB)

If we love him, will keep his commandments which are not grievous.

and whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight. (1 John 3:22 RNEB)

There are only two types of works, the works of righteousness and the works of unrighteousness. If we have the seed of Elohim will do works of righteousness, however if we have the seed of the adversary will be rebellious and inconsistent. We carry the seed or word of the one we serve.

How you have fallen from heaven, Helel, son of the dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, who laid the nations low! You said in your heart, “I will ascend into heaven! I will exalt my throne above the stars of Elohim! I will sit on the mountain of assembly, in the far north! I will ascend above the heights of the clouds! I will make myself like the Most High!” Yet you shall be brought down to grave, to the depths of the pit. Those who see you will stare at you. They will ponder you, saying, “Is this the man who made the earth to tremble, who shook kingdoms; who made the world like a wilderness, and overthrew its cities; who didn’t release his prisoners to their home?” All the kings of the nations, sleep in glory, everyone in his own house. But you are cast away from your tomb like an abominable branch, clothed with the slain, who are thrust through with the sword, who go down to the stones of the pit; like a dead body trodden under foot. You will not join them in burial, because you have destroyed your land. You have killed your people. THE SEED OF EVIL-DOERS WILL NOT BE NAMED FOREVER. Prepare for slaughter of his children because of the lawlessness of their fathers, that they not rise up and possess the earth, and fill the surface of the world with cities. (Isaiah 14:12-21 RNEB)

The adversary, Satan is the seed of all evil-doers.

Let no man say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by Elohim,” for Elohim can’t be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one. (James 1:13 RNEB)

Elohim does not tempt anyone.

But each one is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed. (James 1:14 RNEB)

When we are tempted it is because of our own weakness, being drawn away by the bait of our own desires. We can only be tempted by things that are already enticing to us. For example, we can’t be tempted to eat a donut if we don’t like donuts, we already have to have a taste for them to be enticed by them.

Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin; and the sin, when it is full grown, brings forth death. Don’t be deceived, my beloved brothers. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow. OF HIS OWN WILL HE BROUGHT US FORTH BY THE WORD OF TRUTH, THAT WE SHOULD BE A KIND OF FIRST FRUITS OF HIS CREATURES. (James 1:15-18 RNEB)
So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger; for the anger of man doesn’t produce the righteousness of Elohim. Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, RECEIVE WITH HUMILITY THE IMPLANTED WORD, WHICH IS ABLE TO SAVE YOUR SOULS. (James 1:19-21 RNEB)

It’s the word of Elohim that saves us if we receive it, and it becomes rooted in us, then we will begin to manifest the fruit of the word, which is the works, responses, and actions that we are all judged by.

But be doers of the word, and not only hearers, deluding your own selves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his natural face in a mirror; (James 1:22-23 RNEB)

The word of Elohim allows us to do a self evaluation and situational analysis daily. In other words, by knowing and understanding the law it allows us to keep ourselves under constant scrutiny by being able to analyze whether we have committed a trespass or an offense.

Be therefore imitators of Elohim, as beloved children. Walk in love, even as the Anointed also loved you, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to Elohim for a sweet-smelling fragrance. But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes holy ones; nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not appropriate; but rather giving of thanks. Know this for sure, that no sexually immoral person, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the Kingdom of the Anointed and Elohim. Let no one deceive you with empty words. For because of these things, the wrath of Elohim comes on the children of disobedience. Therefore don’t be partakers with them. For you were once darkness, but are now light in YAH. Walk as children of light, for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth, proving what is well pleasing to YAH. HAVE NO FELLOWSHIP WITH THE UNFRUITFUL WORKS OF DARKNESS, BUT RATHER EVEN REPROVE THEM. For the things which are done by them in secret, it is a shame even to speak of. But all things, when they are reproved, are revealed by the light, for everything that reveals is light. Therefore he says, “Awake, you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and the Anointed will shine on you.” THEREFORE WATCH CAREFULLY HOW YOU WALK, NOT AS UNWISE, BUT AS WISE; REDEEMING THE TIME, BECAUSE THE DAYS ARE EVIL. Therefore don’t be foolish, but understand what the will of YAH is. Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs; singing, and singing praises in your heart to YAH; giving thanks always concerning all things in the name of our Master Yahshua the Anointed, to Elohim, even the Father; subjecting yourselves one to another in the fear of the Anointed. (Ephesians 5:1-21 RNEB)
For there is no partiality with Elohim. For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without the law. As many as have sinned under the law will be judged by the law. For it isn’t the hearers of the law who are righteous before Elohim, but the doers of the law will be justified (Romans 2:11-13 RNEB)

For as many that have sinned without acknowledging, confessing, and seeking the indwelling of the law, shall be damned without the law. Those who have fallen into lawlessness acknowledging and confessing their trespass by the law shall be made righteous.

James said, be not a hearer of the word, but be a doer of the word, which is able to save you. We know if a person has the word, and it’s in them by their fruits, which are exhibited by their actions.

for when Gentiles who don’t have the law do by nature the things of the law, these, not having the law, are a law to themselves, (Romans 2:14 RNEB)

Everyone may not receive the law from Sinai, however notice what it says, “if they do by nature the things of the law,” this is specifically talking about the moral laws, the laws that instruct us in proper human relations. Remember what Shaul said to Timothy, the law is not made for a righteous man, because he will keep the precepts of the law by nature, he does not need an outline of the law book to show him what is righteous. In other words, if the law is already in our mind, heart, and nature, we are already walking in righteousness and don’t need the written law to direct us.

IN THAT THEY SHOW THE WORK OF THE LAW WRITTEN IN THEIR HEARTS, their conscience testifying with them, and their thoughts among themselves accusing or else excusing them) (Romans 2:15 RNEB)

Lets look at the meaning of conscience, it is an intangible spiritual essence that governs, directs, and judges our behavior as we are going through the decision making process on whether to do what’s right or wrong. It has a standard that it follows, it is a combination of what is intellectual and emotional.

There are many that can’t distinguish doing right from doing wrong, their conscience is supposed to guide them, however by continually choosing to ignore the moral guidance of their inward voice, or any number of possible other influences they have reprogrammed their inherent ability to distinguish what’s right from what’s wrong. This is the reason Shaul said in the latter days some shall depart from the faith by paying attention to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, commanding people to abstain from meats and forbidding to marry having their conscience seared with a hot iron. The searing of the conscience represents the hardening of the heart, once this occurs people can do and say things with nothing to regulate their behavior, they have nothing to help them properly determine what’s right or wrong.

in the day when Elohim will judge the secrets of men, according to my Good News, by Yahshua the Anointed. Indeed you bear the name of a Hebrew, and rest on the law, and glory in Elohim, AND KNOW HIS WILL, AND APPROVE THE THINGS THAT ARE EXCELLENT, BEING INSTRUCTED OUT OF THE TORAH, (Romans 2:16-18 RNEB)

We can only know the mind or will of Elohim if we have been instructed out of the law, which means if we don’t know the law we don’t know the will of Elohim.

and are confident that you yourself are a guide of the blind, a light to those who are in darkness, a corrector of the foolish, a teacher of babies, having in the law the form of knowledge and of the truth. You therefore who teach another, don’t you teach yourself? You who preach that a man shouldn’t steal, do you steal? (Romans 2:19-21 RNEB)

If we are instructed out of the law we can be confident that we are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness, a corrector of the foolish, and a teacher of babes, since in the Torah, we have the embodiment of knowledge and truth.

If we are teaching others were also teaching ourselves, Shaul said we should study to show ourselves approved, he also said he didn’t press on because he had already obtained, but continues to march on to obtain the mark of perfection. These are things we must do daily, just as we require food and water, we must also study daily to satisfy our hunger. The scriptures tell us to meditate on the word day and night, in other words the laws, precepts, and ordinances of Elohim should be constantly before our mind. We need to provide the proper resources for the word to take root, if it only rained once per month will the grass grow, will the crops yield in their strength? Reading, studying, and discussing the word of Elohim daily further roots the word and will allow it to yield in strength, which will show in the works of our hand and the transformation of our minds.

This scroll of the Torah shall not depart out of your mouth, BUT YOU SHALL MEDITATE ON IT DAY AND NIGHT, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success. (Joshua 1:8 RNEB)
I WILL MEDITATE ON YOUR PRECEPTS, and consider your ways. (Psalms 119:15 RNEB)
Though princes sit and slander me, YOUR SERVANT WILL MEDITATE ON YOUR STATUTES. (Psalms 119:23 RNEB)
My eyes stay open through the night watches, THAT I MIGHT MEDITATE ON YOUR WORD. (Psalms 119:148 RNEB)

To meditate on, means to consider something carefully, to focus one’s mind for a period of time.

You who say a man shouldn’t commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? You who glory in the law, through your disobedience of the law do you dishonor Elohim? (Romans 2:22-23 RNEB)

We may keep some of the laws but do we attend to all of them? For example, are we keeping:

  • The law to provide food for the poor?
  • The law if you borrow a thing, it must be returned by sundown?
  • The law to not let the sun go down on our anger?
  • The law to restore and reconcile relationships when there is an offense or trespass?

There is a process of lawlessness that will begin to develop if we don’t completely keep Elohim’s code of ethics. With relationships we need to reconcile, restore, keep the peace, and move on, if we are holding grudges or resentment in any form were breaking the law. How many other things are we ignoring? It’s the matters we give little or no thought to that could keep us out of the kingdom.

For “the name of Elohim is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you,” just as it is written. For circumcision indeed profits, if you are a doer of the law, but if you are a transgressor of the law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision. ? (Romans 2:24-26 RNEB)

If the uncircumcised keep the righteous requirements, there uncircumcision will be counted for circumcision. Righteous requirements are the laws and ordinances of Elohim that everyone one is under, we can say were not under law, however we will still be judged by the law.

Indeed, the man who is physically uncircumcised, but obeys the law, judge you, who with the Torah and circumcision are a transgressor of the law? For he is not a Hebrew who is one outwardly, neither is that circumcision which is outward in the flesh; BUT HE IS A HEBREW WHO IS ONE INWARDLY, AND CIRCUMCISION IS THAT OF THE HEART, IN THE SPIRIT NOT IN THE LETTER; WHOSE PRAISE IS NOT FROM MEN, BUT FROM ELOHIM. (Romans 2:27-29 RNEB)
Sha’ul and Timothy, servants of Yahshua the Anointed; To all the holy ones in the Anointed Yahshua who are at Philippi, with the overseers: Grace to you, and peace from Elohim, our Father, and Master Yahshua the Anointed. I thank my Elohim whenever I remember you, always in every request of mine on behalf of you all making my requests with joy, for your partnership in furtherance of the Good News from the first day until now; being confident of this very thing, THAT HE WHO BEGAN A GOOD WORK IN YOU WILL COMPLETE IT UNTIL THE DAY OF YAHSHUA THE ANOINTED. It is even right for me to think this way on behalf of all of you, because I have you in my heart, because, both in my bonds and in the defense and confirmation of the Good News, you all are partakers with me of grace. (Philippians 1:1-7 RNEB)

Elohim performs a good work in us when we accept his seed, which is his word.

Therefore, PREPARE YOUR MINDS FOR ACTION, be sober and SET YOUR HOPE FULLY ON THE GRACE THAT WILL BE BROUGHT TO YOU AT THE REVELATION OF YAHSHUA THE ANOINTED– as children of obedience, not conforming yourselves according to your former lusts as in your ignorance, but just as he who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all of your behavior; because it is written, “You shall be holy; for I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:13-16 RNEB)

If we don’t practice the laws and precepts of Elohim we will be lost, however if we practice his principals we can hope to be brought to maturity, which means having a deeper understanding and proper application of Elohim’s word. There is never any guarantee of receiving the reward in the end, it depends on if we completely followed all his laws, precepts, and ordinances diligently. We must be holy in all aspects of our behavior, for were required to be holy as he is holy. Holiness is not subjective, just like righteousness there is a standard set forth in the Torah, the first five books of the bible.

If you call on him as Father, who without respect of persons judges according to each man’s work, pass the time of your living as foriegners here in reverent fear: knowing that you were redeemed, not with corruptible things, with silver or gold, from the useless way of life handed down from your fathers, but with precious blood, as of a faultless and pure lamb, the blood of the Anointed; who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was revealed at the end of times for your sake, who through him are believers in Elohim, who raised him from the dead, and gave him glory; so that your faith and hope might be in Elohim. SEEING YOU HAVE PURIFIED YOUR SOULS IN YOUR OBEDIENCE TO THE TRUTH THROUGH THE SPIRIT IN SINCERE BROTHERLY AFFECTION, LOVE ONE ANOTHER FROM THE HEART FERVENTLY: (1 Peter 1:17-22 RNEB)
having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of Elohim, which lives and remains forever. (1 Peter 1:23 RNEB)

This is speaking of being born of the word, it’s the word that changes and transforms us into new creatures. If we don’t have his seed in us, which is the word of Elohim, there is no way we can be transformed, born of an incorruptible seed, not the corruptible seed of the adversary.

For you yourselves know, brothers, our visit to you wasn’t in vain, but having suffered before and been shamefully treated, as you know, at Philippi, we grew bold in our Elohim to tell you the Good News of Elohim in much conflict. For our exhortation is not of error, nor of uncleanness, nor in deception. But even as we have been approved by Elohim to be entrusted with the Good News, so we speak; NOT AS PLEASING MEN, BUT ELOHIM, WHO TESTS OUR HEARTS. For neither were we at any time found using words of flattery, as you know, nor a cloak of covetousness (Elohim is witness), nor seeking glory from men (neither from you nor from others), when we might have claimed authority as apostles of the Anointed. (1 Thessalonians 2:1-6 RNEB)

The apostles were just carrying out their mandate with their only motivation being not to trespass against the word of Elohim.

But we were gentle among you, like a nursing mother cherishes her own children. Even so, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you, not the Good News of Elohim only, but also our own souls, because you had become very dear to us. For you remember, brothers, our labor and travail; for working night and day, that we might not burden any of you, we preached to you the Good News of Elohim. You are witnesses with Elohim, how holy, righteously, and blamelessly we behaved ourselves toward you who believe. As you know, we exhorted, comforted, and implored every one of you, as a father does his own children, to the end that you should walk worthily of Elohim, who calls you into his own Kingdom and glory. For this cause we also thank Elohim without ceasing, that, when YOU RECEIVED FROM US THE WORD OF THE MESSAGE OF ELOHIM, YOU ACCEPTED IT NOT AS THE WORD OF MEN, BUT, AS IT IS IN TRUTH, THE WORD OF ELOHIM, WHICH ALSO WORKS IN YOU WHO BELIEVE. (1 Thessalonians 2:7-13 RNEB)
BEHOLD, HOW GREAT A LOVE THE FATHER HAS BESTOWED ON US, THAT WE SHOULD BE CALLED CHILDREN OF ELOHIM! For this cause the world doesn’t know us, because it didn’t know him. (1 John 3:1 RNEB)

If were born of Elohim we are a child of Elohim, and if were a child of Elohim we will display the fruit of Elohim. This is why Yahshua said to Thomas, have I been so long with you that you have not seen the Father, if you have seen me you have seen the father. Yahshua displayed the attributes of Elohim, just as we are supposed to display his attributes in the fruit we produce.

Beloved, now we are children of Elohim, and it is not yet revealed what we will be. But we know that, when he is revealed, we will be like him; for we will see him just as he is. Everyone who has this hope set on him purifies himself, even as he is pure. Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness. You know that he was revealed to take away our sins, and in him is no sin. Whoever remains in him doesn’t sin. Whoever sins hasn’t seen him, neither knows him. Little children, let no one lead you astray. He who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of Elohim was revealed, that he might destroy the works of the devil. WHOEVER IS BORN OF ELOHIM DOESN’T COMMIT SIN, BECAUSE HIS SEED REMAINS IN HIM; AND HE CAN’T SIN, BECAUSE HE IS BORN OF ELOHIM. In this the children of Elohim are revealed, and the children of the devil. Whoever doesn’t do righteousness is not of Elohim, neither is he who doesn’t love his brother. (1 John 3:2-10 RNEB)

If we are born of Elohim we don’t commit lawlessness because the word of Elohim is in us!

If then you were raised together with the Anointed, seek the things that are above, where the Anointed is, seated on the right hand of Elohim. SET YOUR MIND ON THE THINGS THAT ARE ABOVE, NOT ON THE THINGS THAT ARE ON THE EARTH. For you died, and your life is hidden with the Anointed in Elohim. When the Anointed, our life, is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him in glory. PUT TO DEATH THEREFORE YOUR MEMBERS WHICH ARE ON THE EARTH: sexual immorality, uncleanness, depraved passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry; for which things’ sake the wrath of Elohim comes on the children of disobedience. You also once walked in those, when you lived in them; but now you also put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and shameful speaking out of your mouth. Don’t lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings, (Colossians 3:1-9 RNEB)

We need to be purified by the word. Before we can be purified in water, we need to be washed by the word of Elohim. In other words, if we are purified by the word, we will then show the internal commitment by an outward expression of water purification. Yahshua said we need to be clean on the inside before we worry about washing on the outside.

and have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator, (Colossians 3:10 RNEB)

We must be renewed after the image of YAH, he expresses his image and character in his word, which are the laws, precepts, ordinances, and ethical code set forth in the first five books.

where there can’t be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondservant, freeman; but the Anointed is all, and in all. Put on therefore, as Elohim’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as the Anointed forgave you, so you also do. Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of Elohim rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of the Anointed dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to YAH. WHATEVER YOU DO, IN WORD OR IN DEED, DO ALL IN THE NAME OF MASTER YAHSHUA, GIVING THANKS TO ELOHIM THE FATHER, THROUGH HIM. (Colossians 3:11-17 RNEB)
For to this you were called, because the Anointed also suffered for us, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps, who did not sin, “neither was deceit found in his mouth.” Who, when he was cursed, didn’t curse back. When he suffered, didn’t threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously; (1 Peter 2:21-23 RNEB)
Simon Peter, a servant and emissary of Yahshua the Anointed, to those who have obtained a like precious faith with us in the righteousness of our Elohim and Savior, Yahshua the Anointed: Grace to you and peace be multiplied in the knowledge of Elohim and of Yahshua our Master, seeing that his divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and obedience, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue; by which he has granted to us his precious and exceedingly great promises; THAT THROUGH THESE YOU MAY BECOME PARTAKERS OF THE DIVINE NATURE, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust. Yes, and for this very cause adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence; and IN MORAL EXCELLENCE, KNOWLEDGE; AND IN KNOWLEDGE, SELF-CONTROL; AND IN SELF-CONTROL PATIENCE; AND IN PATIENCE OBEDIENCE; AND IN OBEDIENCE BROTHERLY AFFECTION; AND IN BROTHERLY AFFECTION, LOVE. FOR IF THESE THINGS ARE YOURS AND ABOUND, THEY MAKE YOU TO BE NOT IDLE NOR UNFRUITFUL TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF OUR MASTER YAHSHUA THE ANOINTED. (2 Peter 1:1-8 RNEB)

If the word of Elohim is in us, we will produce these types of fruit.

For he who lacks these things is blind, seeing only what is near, having forgotten the cleansing from his old sins. Therefore, brothers, be more diligent to make your calling and election sure. FOR IF YOU DO THESE THINGS, YOU WILL NEVER STUMBLE. (2 Peter 1:9-10 RNEB)

It begins with the seed, being born of the word of Elohim.

who having become callous gave themselves up to lust, to work all uncleanness with greediness. BUT YOU DID NOT LEARN THE ANOINTED THAT WAY; IF INDEED YOU HEARD HIM, AND WERE TAUGHT IN HIM, EVEN AS TRUTH IS IN YAHSHUA: that you put away, as concerning your former way of life, the old man, that grows corrupt after the lusts of deceit; and THAT YOU BE RENEWED IN THE SPIRIT OF YOUR MIND, (Ephesians 4:19-23 RNEB)

The word equates to spirit, if the word is in us, we will see the fruit of it and will no longer walk in the ways that are evil before Elohim.

and put on the new man, who in the likeness of Elohim has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth. (Ephesians 4:24 RNEB)

It’s impossible to have the fruit of the spirit if we don’t have the word of Elohim.

“Either make the tree good, and its fruit good, or make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt; for THE TREE IS KNOWN BY ITS FRUIT. (Matthew 12:33 RNEB)

It always comes down to this choice, either we make the tree good by the word of Elohim or the tree is bad and so is the fruit.

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? May it never be! However, I WOULDN’T HAVE KNOWN SIN, EXCEPT THROUGH THE LAW. For I wouldn’t have known coveting, unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.” But sin, finding occasion through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of coveting. For apart from the law, sin is dead. I was alive apart from the law once, but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. The commandment, which was for life, this I found to be for death; for sin, finding occasion through the commandment, deceived me, and through it killed me. (Romans 7:7-11 RNEB)

Shaul is explaining how the animal sacrifices didn’t do anything for his heart, and while he had the Levitical sacrificial system he continued to find excuses to commit iniquity. When the commandment came to be purified in the name of Yahshua the Anointed to wash our sins away, sin revived, and he died, because he had no other recourse, Yahshua could not be sacrificed again, there is only one opportunity to be washed of all past sin, so fear came on him.

Therefore the law indeed is holy, and the commandment holy, and righteous, and good. Did then that which is good become death to me? May it never be! BUT SIN, THAT IT MIGHT BE SHOWN TO BE SIN, BY WORKING DEATH TO ME THROUGH THAT WHICH IS GOOD; THAT THROUGH THE COMMANDMENT SIN MIGHT BECOME EXCEEDING SINFUL. For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am fleshly, sold under sin. For I don’t know what I am doing. For I don’t practice what I desire to do; but what I hate, that I do. But if what I don’t desire, that I do, I consent to the law that it is good. So now it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me. For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don’t find it doing that which is good. For the good which I desire, I don’t do; but the evil which I don’t desire, that I practice. But if what I don’t desire, that I do, it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me. I find then the law, that, to me, while I desire to do good, evil is present. FOR I DELIGHT IN ELOHIM’S LAW AFTER THE INWARD MAN, BUT I SEE A DIFFERENT LAW IN MY MEMBERS, WARRING AGAINST THE LAW OF MY MIND, AND BRINGING ME INTO CAPTIVITY UNDER THE LAW OF SIN WHICH IS IN MY MEMBERS. (Romans 7:12-23 RNEB)

There is a warring in the mind between our flesh and the law after the inward man. If we renew our mind with the word of Elohim, so the inward man’s predominant thoughts are on the laws and precepts of Elohim, sin will be put to rest, because the flesh cannot do anything the mind does not allow it to. The seed of Elohim is implanted in the mind, when it takes roots we will start to see its fruit manifest in our flesh. The fruit of iniquity can only come when the mind gives in to carnality.

What a wretched man I am! Who will deliver me out of the body of this death? I thank Elohim through Yahshua the Anointed, our Master! SO THEN WITH THE MIND, I MYSELF SERVE ELOHIM’S LAW, BUT WITH THE FLESH, I AM A SLAVE OF SIN’S LAW. (Romans 7:24-25 RNEB)
And take the helmet of salvation, and THE SWORD GIVEN BY THE SPIRIT, THAT IS, THE WORD OF ELOHIM; (Ephesians 6:17 RNEB)

The Spirit is the word of Elohim, we need to stop thinking we have a Holy Spirit that will make us righteous, it is only by learning, understanding, and applying the word that we can be righteous. As James said, it’s only the implanted word that is able to save our soul (James 1:21).

Blessed is the man who trusts in YAH, and whose trust YAH is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, who spreads out its roots by the river, and shall not fear when heat comes, but its leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. THE HEART IS DECEITFUL ABOVE ALL THINGS, AND IT IS EXCEEDINGLY CORRUPT: WHO CAN KNOW IT? (Jeremiah 17:7-9 RNEB)

The heart is only deceitful and exceedingly corrupt when it follows emotions that are driven by the flesh rather than being grounded in the word of Elohim.

I, YAH, search the mind, I try the heart, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings. (Jeremiah 17:10 RNEB)
FOR THE WORD OF ELOHIM IS LIVING, AND ACTIVE, AND SHARPER THAN ANY TWO-EDGED SWORD, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, AND IS ABLE TO DISCERN THE THOUGHTS AND INTENTIONS OF THE HEART. (Hebrews 4:12 RNEB)

The word is living with the power to accomplish and manifest change. It can divide the flesh from the mind, allowing the mind to rule when it is renewed with the word of Elohim.

There is no creature that is hidden FROM HIS SIGHT, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him with whom we have to do. (Hebrews 4:13 RNEB)

Elohim dwells in us with his word, notice the word of Elohim is referred to here as “he” when it says “from his sight”. The word is spirit because when it is applied it’s an intangible force, however it is not a spiritual entity unto itself.

If we indeed have the word of Elohim and we are born of his word, then we will begin to manifest the fruits of Elohim.

It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. THE WORDS THAT I SPEAK TO YOU ARE SPIRIT, AND ARE LIFE. (John 6:63 RNEB)

The seed of Elohim is his word, the code of ethics which is supposed to dwell in our mind. A rebirth or renewal starts in the mind and once it takes root the fruit or works of the spirit will be manifested.
