The Seventy Weeks of Daniel I

The objective of this study is to examine the seventy prophetic weeks given to Daniel which foretells of the events leading up to the establishment of a theocratic kingdom. Many theologians use the seventy weeks of Daniel to give a timeline to the antichrist and the rapture. We will examine what the apostles and the prophets had to say regarding these seventy weeks, and what they actually address. We will be answering the following questions.

  • What does the seventy weeks represent?
  • What events started the fulfillment of the seventy weeks?
  • What events must be fulfilled during the seventy weeks?
  • What did the temple veil being pulled apart represent?
  • What laws did the anointed fulfill?
  • What’s ushered in after the seventy weeks?
  • What is the abomination of desolation?

Many things have been taught on this subject, primarily by Christian prophecy teachers. They have taught that the antichrist will make a seven year covenant with the Jews in Yisrael. They believe in the middle of that period the covenant will be broken and an end put to sacrifices and oblation. Their theological position requires, first that the true Hebrew Yisraelites are returned to the land, most of the nation of Yisrael is now occupied by gentile nations. The Jews would also have to build a temple and start the sacrificial process again if their theology is correct. There are a number of things that must be considered that are generally not, for example lineage is crucial, animal sacrifices would need to be done by people in the lineage of Aharon, there are many professing priests in Yisrael, however the different lineages are never considered. The temple would also have to be rebuilt by Levite’s as they were given charge in all things concerning the temple, in Ezra’s time the Hebrews refused help from other nations in rebuilding the temple because they did not want it defiled. We will look at these issues from a purely scripture standpoint and reveal what Elohim has really said to His people.

yes, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gavri’el, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening offering. He instructed me, and talked with me, and said, Daniyel, I am now come forth to give you wisdom and understanding. At the beginning of your petitions the commandment went forth, and I am come to tell you; for you are greatly beloved: therefore consider the matter, and understand the vision. Seventy weeks are decreed on your people and on your holy city, to finish disobedience, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for lawlessness, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy. (Daniel 9:21-24 RNEB)

We will try to approach this study in chronological order so the sequence of events is very clear.

Seventy weeks are decreed on your people and on your holy city, to finish disobedience, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for lawlessness, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy. (Daniel 9:24 RNEB)

Seventy weeks, in weeks of years is equivalent to four hundred and ninety years. Therefore, we have 490 years to anoint the most holy, finish transgression, make reconciliation for iniquity, bring in everlasting righteousness, and finally to seal up the prophecy.

Now this is the copy of the letter that the king Artachshasta gave to Ezra the Priest, the scribe, even the scribe of the words of the commandments of YAH, and of his statutes to Yisra’el: Artachshasta, king of kings, to Ezra the Priest, the scribe of the law of the Elohim of heaven, perfect and so forth. I make a decree, that all those of the people of Yisra’el, and their priests and the Levites, in my realm, who are minded of their own free will to go to Yerushalayim, go with you. Because you are sent of the king and his seven counselors, to inquire concerning Judah and Yerushalayim, according to the law of your Elohim which is in your hand, and to carry the silver and gold, which the king and his counselors have freely offered to the Elohim of Yisra’el, whose habitation is in Yerushalayim, and all the silver and gold that you shall find in all the province of Babel, with the freewill offering of the people, and of the priests, offering willingly for the house of their Elohim which is in Yerushalayim; (Ezra 7:11-16 RNEB)

At this point the Hebrews are just coming out of Babylonian captivity, Nevukhadnetzar was gone, his son Belshatzar after him had fallen, then Darius and Cyrus of Medo-persia reigned, and now King Artachshasta.

therefore you shall with all diligence buy with this money bulls, rams, lambs, with their meal offerings and their drink offerings, and shall offer them on the altar of the house of your Elohim which is in Yerushalayim. (Ezra 7:17 RNEB)

The house had to be rebuilt because Nevukhadnetzar had torn it down.

Whatever shall seem good to you and to your brothers to do with the rest of the silver and the gold, that do you after the will of your Elohim. The vessels that are given you for the service of the house of your Elohim, deliver you before the Elohim of Yerushalayim. Whatever more shall be needful for the house of your Elohim, which you shall have occasion to bestow, bestow it out of the king’s treasure house. I, even I Artachshasta the king, do make a decree to all the treasurers who are beyond the River, that whatever Ezra the Priest, the scribe of the law of the Elohim of heaven, shall require of you, it be done with all diligence, to one hundred talents of silver, and to one hundred measures of wheat, and to one hundred baths of wine, and to one hundred baths of oil, and salt without prescribing how much. Whatever is commanded by the Elohim of heaven, let it be done exactly for the house of the Elohim of heaven; for why should there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons? Also we inform you, that touching any of the priests and Levites, the singers, porters, temple servants , or servants of this house of Elohim, it shall not be lawful to impose tribute, custom, or toll, on them. (Ezra 7:18-24 RNEB)
It happened in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artachshasta the king, when wine was before him, that I took up the wine, and gave it to the king. Now I had not been [before] sad in his presence. The king said to me, Why is your face sad, seeing you are not sick? this is nothing else but sorrow of heart. Then I was very sore afraid. I said to the king, Let the king live forever: why should not my face be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers’ tombs, lies waste, and the gates of it are consumed with fire? Then the king said to me, For what do you make request? So I prayed to the Elohim of heaven. I said to the king, If it please the king, and if your servant have found favor in your sight, that you would send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers’ tombs, that I may build it. The king said to me (the queen also sitting by him), For how long shall your journey be? and when will you return? So it pleased the king to send me; and I set him a time. Moreover I said to the king, If it please the king, let letters be given me to the governors beyond the River, that they may let me pass through until I come to Judah; and a letter to Asaf the keeper of the king’s forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the castle which appertains to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. The king granted me, according to the good hand of my Elohim on me. Then I came to the governors beyond the River, and gave them the king’s letters. Now the king had sent with me captains of the army and horsemen. (Nehemiah 2:1-9 RNEB 457 BC)

Were laying a foundation for the events that led to the start of the fulfillment of the seventy weeks.

Know therefore and discern, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Yerushalayim to the Anointed One, the prince, shall be seven weeks, and sixty-two weeks: it shall be built again, with street and moat, even in troubled times. (Daniel 9:24-25 RNEB)

Seventy weeks is decreed on Yisrael and the Holy city.

(Daniel 9:25 RNEB)

Doing the Math

The approximate time of the commandment to build the city was between 457-458 BC, were told it will take seven weeks, which equates to 49 years (7 days x 7 weeks, in weeks of years is 49) to rebuild the city. Therefore, if the year is 457 BC, and we subtract the 49 years we get a rebuild date for the city of 408 BC. Now from the time the city is rebuilt the Anointed comes on the scene in 62 weeks, which is 434 years, so we subtract this from the 408 BC, and get 26 CE as the year the Anointed was going to appear.

Lets look at what secular history has to say about this. Yahshua the Anointed was born between 3-4 BC.

Herod’s reign ended in terror. The monastery at Qumran, the home of the Essenes, suffered a violent and deliberate destruction by fire in 8 BCE, for which Herod may have been responsible. When the king fell ill, two popular teachers, Judas and Matthias, incited their pupils to remove the golden eagle from the entrance of the Temple: after all, according to the Ten Commandments, it was a sin to make idols. The teachers and the pupils were burned alive.

A horrible disease (probably a cancer-like infection called Fournier’s gangrene) made acute the problem of Herod’s succession, and the result was factional strife in his family. Shortly before his death Herod decided against his sons Aristobulus and Antipater, who were executed in 7 and 4 BCE, causing the emperor Augustus to joke that it was preferable to be Herod’s pig (hus) than his son (huios) – a very insulting remark to any Jew.

However, the emperor confirmed Herod’s last will. After his death in 4 BCE, the kingdom was divided among his sons. Herod Antipas was to rule Galilee and the east bank of the Jordan as a tetrarch; Philip was to be tetrarch of the Golan heights in the north-east; and Archelaus became the ethnarch (‘national leader’) of Samaria and Judaea. Herod was buried in one of the fortresses he had built, Herodion. Few will have wept. (Modern literature: Nikos Kokkinos, The Herodian Dynasty. Origins, Role in Society and Eclipse (1998 Sheffield) and D.W. Roller)

According to our historical information Herod’s death was in 4 BCE.

Now when Yahshua was born in Beit-Lechem of Judah in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Yerushalayim, saying, “Where is he who is born King of the Hebrews? For we saw his star in the east, and have come to reverence him.” When Herod the king heard it, he was troubled, and all Yerushalayim with him. Gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he asked them where the Anointed would be born. They said to him, “In Beit-Lechem of Judah, for thus it is written through the prophet, ‘You Beit-Lechem, land of Judah, are in no way least among the princes of Judah: for out of you shall come forth a governor, who shall shepherd my people, Yisra’el.'” Then Herod secretly called the wise men, and learned from them exactly what time the star appeared. He sent them to Beit-Lechem, and said, “Go and search diligently for the young child. When you have found him, bring me word, so that I also may come and reverenced him.” They, having heard the king, went their way; and behold, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, until it came and stood over where the young child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. They came into the house and saw the young child with Miriam, his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Opening their treasures, they offered to him gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Being warned in a dream that they shouldn’t return to Herod, they went back to their own country another way. Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of YAH appeared to Yosef in a dream, saying, “Arise and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and stay there until I tell you, for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.” He arose and took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt, and was there until the death of Herod; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by YAH through the prophet, saying, “Out of Egypt I called my son.” Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked by the wise men, was exceedingly angry, and sent out, and killed all the male children who were in Beit-Lechem and in all the surrounding countryside, from two years old and under, according to the exact time which he had learned from the wise men. Then that which was spoken by Yirmeyahu the prophet was fulfilled, saying, “A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children; she wouldn’t be comforted, because they are no more.” But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of YAH appeared in a dream to Yosef in Egypt, saying, (Matthew 2:1-19 RNEB)

Remember our historical references say Herod died in 4 BC, however was Yahshua born in 4 BCE, or before?

“Arise and take the young child and his mother, and go into Eretz-Yisra’el, for those who sought the young child’s life are dead.” He arose and took the young child and his mother, and came into Eretz-Yisra’el. But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judah in the place of his father, Herod, he was afraid to go there. Being warned in a dream, he withdrew into the region of the Galil, (Matthew 2:20-22 RNEB)

Our historical references state the emperor confirmed Herod’s last will, and after his death in 4 BC the kingdom was divided among his sons. Herod Antipas was to rule Galilee and the east bank of the Jordan as a tetrarch, Philip was to be tetrarch of the Golan heights in the north-east, and Archelaus became the ethnarch (‘national leader’) of Samaria and Judea.

The historians recorded an accurate account of events.

But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judah in the place of his father, Herod, he was afraid to go there. Being warned in a dream, he withdrew into the region of the Galil, and came and lived in a city called Nazareth; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophets: “He will be called a Natzri.” (Matthew 2:22-23 RNEB)

If Herod’s death occurred in 4 BC, based on this Yahshua was probably born before 4 BC, in fact it is most likely 3 BC. If this is the case, think back to our prophecy concerning the Anointed according to our numbers, subtracting 434 years (62 weeks of years) from 408 BC (Temple completion) gives us the year 26 CE. Remember this number and that the most Holy (Yahshua) needed to be anointed within Daniel’s seventy week period (490 years).

Now it happened, when all the people were purified, Yahshua also had been purified, and was praying. The sky was opened, and the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily form as a dove on him; and a voice came out of the sky, saying “You are my beloved Son. In you I am well pleased.” Yahshua himself, WHEN HE BEGAN TO TEACH, WAS ABOUT THIRTY YEARS OLD, being the son (as was supposed) of Yosef, the son of Eli, (Luke 3:21-23 RNEB)

Yahshua was just about thirty years old when he was anointed. The Hebraic custom for counting the age of the child started at conception, rather than at the actual birth.

Know therefore and discern, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Yerushalayim to the Anointed One, the prince, shall be seven weeks, and sixty-two weeks: it shall be built again, with street and moat, even in troubled times. (Daniel 9:25 RNEB)

We just dealt with this prophecy, we took seven weeks of the seventy weeks.

70 weeks (490 years)
7 weeks (49 years)
63 weeks (441 years)

Now we need to take 62 of the remaining 63 weeks to bring about the Anointed.

AFTER THE SIXTY-TWO WEEKS THE ANOINTED ONE SHALL BE CUT OFF, AND SHALL HAVE NOTHING: AND THE PEOPLE OF THE PRINCE WHO SHALL COME SHALL DESTROY THE CITY AND THE SANCTUARY; and the end of it shall be with a flood, and even to the end shall be war; desolations are determined. He shall make a firm covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease; and on the wing of abominations [shall come] one who makes desolate; and even to the full end, and that determined, shall [wrath] be poured out on the desolate. (Daniel 9:26-27 RNEB)

Who shall confirm the covenant? Most religious leaders say were going to have a political leader (the antichrist) that will rise and make a covenant with Yisrael for seven years.

The preceding scripture (verse 26) deals with the Anointed, and the people of the prince which destroys the sanctuary and the city.

Most religious leaders teach that the seven year tribulation period is dictated in verse twenty seven for the end of the age. They believe the antichrist will come on the seen, but just before this happens, they will be raptured off into heaven where they will have a seven year feast with the Anointed (AKA Jesus).

Lets see if were talking about an antichrist or someone else.

“Behold, I send my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me; and YAH, whom you seek, will suddenly come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, behold, he comes!” says YAH of Armies. (Malachi 3:1 RNEB)

The messenger that’s going to prepare the way is Yochanan the purifier (AKA John the baptist).

for I tell you, I will not drink at all again from the fruit of the vine, until the Kingdom of Elohim comes.” He took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and gave to them, saying, “This is my body which is given for you. Do this in memory of me.” Likewise, he took the cup after supper, saying, “THIS CUP IS THE NEW COVENANT IN MY BLOOD, which is poured out for you. (Luke 22:18-20 RNEB)

Yahshua the Anointed is the messenger of the covenant, who died on the first day of unleavened bread.

But he, because he lives forever, has his priesthood unchangeable. Therefore he is also able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to Elohim through him, seeing that he lives forever to make intercession for them. For such a High Priest was fitting for us: holy, guiltless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; (Hebrews 7:24-26 RNEB)
But now he has obtained a more excellent ministry, by so much as he is also the mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises. (Hebrews 8:6 RNEB)
so the Anointed also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, without sin, to those who are eagerly waiting for him for salvation. (Hebrews 9:28 RNEB)
For the Torah, having a shadow of the good to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect those who draw near. Or else wouldn’t they have ceased to be offered, because the worshippers, having been once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins? But in those sacrifices there is yearly reminder of sins. FOR IT IS IMPOSSIBLE THAT THE BLOOD OF BULLS AND GOATS SHOULD TAKE AWAY SINS. (Hebrews 10:1-4 RNEB)

The blood of bulls and goats obviously did something for sin, that’s why YAH ordained the process. However, remember what Shaul said, if a woman be married to two men she shall be called an adulterous, the woman is subject to the law of her husband while he lives. Therefore, we have become dead to the law of propitiation so that we can be married to another and not be called an adulterous. We have two covenants, Yahshua ushered in one covenant, and we received the other on Mount Sinai which was inclusive of the Levitical ordinances, which were also known as the temple sacrificial laws.

For this reason he is the mediator of a new covenant, since a death has occurred for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, that those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. For where a last will and testament is, there must of necessity be the death of him who made it. For a will is in force where there has been death, for it is never in force while he who made it lives. Therefore even the first covenant has not been dedicated without blood. For when every commandment had been spoken by Moshe to all the people according to the Torah, he took the blood of the calves and the goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, saying, “This is the blood of the covenant which Elohim has commanded you.” Moreover he sprinkled the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry in like manner with the blood. According to the Torah, nearly everything is cleansed with blood, and apart from shedding of blood there is no remission. (Hebrews 9:15-22 RNEB)

This is where we are regarding what has to be fulfilled during the seventy weeks.

  • The Anointing of the most Holy – We covered this.
  • Making an end of sin and reconciliation for iniquity – This is what were covering here.
  • To finish transgressions – About to cover.
It was necessary therefore that the copies of the things in the heavens should be cleansed with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For the Anointed hasn’t entered into holy places made with hands, which are representations of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of Elohim for us; nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the High Priest enters into the holy place year by year with blood not his own, or else he must have suffered often since the foundation of the world. But now once at the end of the ages, HE HAS BEEN REVEALED TO PUT AWAY SIN BY THE SACRIFICE OF HIMSELF. (Hebrews 9:23-26 RNEB)

Here we see the end of transgression, the putting away of sin. The confirmation for this is from Shaul himself, a Hebrew Yisraelite who said in verse twenty six “or else he must have suffered often since the foundation of the world. But now once at the end of the ages, he has been revealed to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.”

We still need to deal with the Anointed and the prophecy in the book of Daniel.

According to the New Testament Yahshua’s sacrifice would put an end to sins. This was part of what needed to take place during the seventy prophetic weeks of Daniel.

About the ninth hour Yahshua cried with a loud voice, saying, “`Eli, `Eli, lima shavakhtani?” That is, “My Elohim, my Elohim, why have you forsaken me?” Some of them who stood there, when they heard it, said, “This man is calling Eliyahu.” Immediately one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him a drink. The rest said, “Let him be. Let’s see whether Eliyahu comes to save him.” Yahshua cried again with a loud voice, and yielded up his spirit. BEHOLD, THE VEIL OF THE TEMPLE WAS TORN IN TWO FROM THE TOP TO THE BOTTOM. THE EARTH QUAKED AND THE ROCKS WERE SPLIT. (Matthew 27:46-51 RNEB)

The veil that was torn was what separated the Holy place from the most Holy place. The priest went behind the veil just once every year to offer up the sacrifice for the iniquity of the children of Yisrael. After Yahshua died the veil was torn by an angel, it didn’t happen by itself, so lets see why it happened.

Having therefore, brothers, boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Yahshua, (Hebrews 10:19 RNEB)

We are now able to step behind the veil by the blood of Yahshua. The veil that only a sanctified priest of the line of Aharon could cross just once each year before this event.

by the way which he dedicated for us, A NEW AND LIVING WAY, THROUGH THE VEIL, that is to say, his flesh; (Hebrews 10:20 RNEB)

The veil is now the Anointed’s flesh.

Or don’t you know, brothers (for I speak to men who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man for as long as he lives? (Romans 7:1 RNEB)

Shaul is only speaking to people who know the law, that leaves out almost all the people who read scripture today. Then he goes on to say that man is under the law while he lives, this contradicts those who say that Shaul teaches the law has passed away. The only law he teaches was nullified is the sacrificial laws, when Yahshua died, he put an end to these ordinances.

For the woman that has a husband is bound by law to the husband while he lives, but if the husband dies, she is discharged from the law of the husband. So then if, while the husband lives, she is joined to another man, she would be called an adulteress. But if the husband dies, she is free from the law, so that she is no adulteress, though she is joined to another man. Therefore, my brothers, you also were made dead to the law through the body of the Anointed, that you would be joined to another, to him who was raised from the dead, that we might bring forth fruit to Elohim. (Romans 7:2-4 RNEB)

Shaul qualified which law was done away with.

What then is the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the seed should come to whom the promise has been made. It was ordained through angels by the hand of a mediator. (Galatians 3:19 RNEB)

It was the law added on account of transgressions, sin. Aharon mediated the old covenant that was bound and sealed by blood, those that addressed the remission of sin by the shedding of blood. So, the original covenant used animal sacrifices, and the new covenant deals with a human sacrifice to put away iniquity [lawlessness]. It addresses and does what the old sacrificial system was supposed to do.

But the Scriptures imprisoned all things under sin, that the promise by faith in Yahshua the Anointed might be given to those who believe. BUT BEFORE FAITH CAME, WE WERE KEPT IN CUSTODY UNDER THE LAW, confined for the faith which should afterwards be revealed. (Galatians 3:22-23 RNEB)

Before the Anointed came, we were commanded to sacrifice.

So that the law has become our tutor to bring us to the Anointed, that we might be justified by faith. But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. (Galatians 3:24-25 RNEB)
He shall make a firm covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease; and on the wing of abominations [shall come] one who makes desolate; and even to the full end, and that determined, shall [wrath] be poured out on the desolate. (Daniel 9:27 RNEB)

Yahshua confirmed the covenant for one week, after three and a half years on the first day of unleavened bread Yahshua died, when this happened the temple veil was torn as a sign that the sacrifices and oblation had ended and would no longer be accepted.

It says the temple will be desolate.

Hear the word of YAH, you rulers of Sedom! Listen to the law of our Elohim, you people of `Amorah! “What are the multitude of your sacrifices to me?,” says YAH. “I have had enough of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed animals. I don’t delight in the blood of bulls, or of lambs, or of male goats. When you come to appear before me, who has required this at your hand, to trample my courts? BRING NO MORE VAIN OFFERINGS. Incense is an abomination to me; new moons, Sabbaths, and convocations: I can’t bear with evil assemblies. My soul hates your New Moons and your appointed feasts. They are a burden to me. I am weary of bearing them. When you spread forth your hands, I will hide my eyes from you. Yes, WHEN YOU MAKE MANY PRAYERS, I WILL NOT HEAR. Your hands are full of blood. Wash yourselves, make yourself clean. Put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes. Cease to do evil. (Isaiah 1:10-16 RNEB)

Remember the scripture says, the sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to YAH. If the temple remained Yisrael would have continued to sacrifice. While it was up, they were sacrificing, however they were not keeping his commandments, they believed they could walk in complete disobedience and still have their sacrifices accepted. This is the reason Samuel said to King Shaul, obedience is better than sacrifice.

The purpose of the seventy weeks prophecy is to look at the children of Yisrael and the theocratic age that YAH will usher in through them, by anointing the most Holy, putting an end to sin, purging iniquity, and putting an end to transgressions. As we have seen in scripture putting an end to transgressions leads to a desolation, and we discovered it was the temple that would be desolate. We referenced Daniel chapter eight to confirm the covenant, and found it is the New Covenant which is referenced in Jeremiah 31:31 as YAH said, “Behold, the days come, saith YAH, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was a husband unto them, saith YAH: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith YAH, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and I will be their Elohim, and they shall be my people.” The uniqueness of the new covenant is we only have one opportunity to for all past sins to be purged, all past lawlessness cleansed. Consequently, we need to be very aware of everything we say and do, which leaves us no other choice but to focus on the laws of Elohim. This is how YAH begins to write his law in our hearts and minds, because it now must be a focal point. In other words, under the New Covenant with Yahshua dying just one time and being purified in his Holy name, which is how we wash away all our iniquity. We must walk very carefully, as Shaul said we can’t sacrifice the Anointed again.

Now were up to Daniel 9:27, we stopped at midpoint where it reads he shall make a firm covenant with many for one week: Which we have shown was talking about Yahshua the Anointed who confirmed the covenant. It says in verse twenty six, and after threescore and two weeks the Anointed shall be killed, we know he had three and a half years of ministry, 3 1/2 + 3 1/2 equals seven, and seven is one week. Therefore, amid the week he was cut off (killed), at his death, he put an end to sacrifice, however the temple was still standing, did YAH have respect for the offering of the priests?

“A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If I am a father, then where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is the respect due me? Says YAH of Armies to you, PRIESTS, WHO DESPISE MY NAME. You say, ‘HOW HAVE WE DESPISED YOUR NAME?’ YOU OFFER POLLUTED BREAD ON MY ALTAR. You say, ‘How have we polluted you?’ IN THAT YOU SAY, ‘YAH’S TABLE CONTEMPTIBLE.’ When you offer the blind for sacrifice, isn’t that evil? And when you offer the lame and sick, isn’t that evil? Present it now to your governor! Will he be pleased with you? Or will he accept your person?” says YAH of Armies. “Now, please entreat the favor of Elohim, that he may be gracious to us. With this, will he accept any of you?” says YAH of Armies. (Malachi 1:6-9 RNEB)
“But you profane it, in that you say, ‘YAH’s table is polluted, and its fruit, even its food, is contemptible.’ You say also, ‘Behold, what a weariness it is!’ and you have sniffed at it,” says YAH of Armies; “and you have brought that which was taken by violence, the lame, and the sick; thus you bring the offering. SHOULD I ACCEPT THIS AT YOUR HAND?” SAYS YAH. “BUT THE DECEIVER IS CURSED, who has in his flock a male, and vows, and sacrifices to YAH a blemished thing; for I am a great King,” says YAH of Armies, “and my name is awesome among the nations.” (Malachi 1:12-14 RNEB)
“Now, you priests, this commandment is for you. If you will not listen, and if you will not lay it to heart, to give glory to my name,” says YAH of Armies, “then will I send the curse on you, and I will curse your blessings. Indeed, I have cursed them already, because you do not lay it to heart. (Malachi 2:1-2 RNEB)

Between the years 457-454 BC, there was a lot taking place. At this time the Romans had control of the land, and they were appointing the priests over Yisrael. The priests office was a covenant given to Aharon and his sons, no one else could enter that office to perform the duties of a priest. Doing so would constitute a violation of the covenant, a trespass, an act of uncleanness, and an abomination before YAH. During this time there were Benjamites and Simionites appointed as priests, which for the most part were Hellenists, Hebrews who had adopted the Greek culture and thought, and at this point were careless about their own culture. When Yahshua had come on the seen the temple and priesthood had already been severely corrupted and was an abomination to Elohim.

It’s the temple that was made desolate.

AFTER THE SIXTY-TWO WEEKS THE ANOINTED ONE SHALL BE CUT OFF, AND SHALL HAVE NOTHING: AND THE PEOPLE OF THE PRINCE WHO SHALL COME WILL DESTROY THE CITY AND THE SANCTUARY; and the end of it shall be with a flood, and even to the end shall be war; desolations are determined. (Daniel 9:26 RNEB)

After the Anointed dies and nullifies the sacrifices and oblations then a desolator will come to destroy the city and temple. We have another example of the temple being made desolate in Yisrael’s history, and things tend to repeat themselves. Lets look at the scripture.

Yes, it magnified itself, even to the prince of the army; and it took away from him the continual [burnt offering], and the place of his sanctuary was cast down. The army was given over [to it] together with the continual [burnt offering] through disobedience; and it cast down truth to the ground, and it did [its pleasure] and prospered. Then I heard a holy one speaking; and another holy one said to that certain one who spoke, HOW LONG SHALL BE THE VISION [CONCERNING] THE CONTINUAL [BURNT OFFERING], AND THE DISOBEDIENCE THAT MAKES DESOLATE, TO GIVE BOTH THE SANCTUARY AND THE ARMY TO BE TRODDEN UNDER FOOT? HE SAID TO ME, TO TWO THOUSAND AND THREE HUNDRED EVENINGS [AND] MORNINGS; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed. (Daniel 8:11-14 RNEB)

Antioch Epiphanies came in and sacked Yerushalayim, he defiled the temple by sacrificing a pig on the alter and erecting a statue to Zeus in the temple.

Sacrifices ended spiritually after the death of Yahshua, however people continued to sacrifice in the temple. YAH said the temple will not stand, so he sent in the Romans to destroy the temple, the sanctuary, and the city.

When he drew near, he saw the city and wept over it, saying, “If you, even you, had known today the things which belong to your peace! But now, they are hidden from your eyes. For the days will come on you, when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, surround you, pressing you in on every side, (Luke 19:41-43 RNEB)

Yahshua is prophesying that the Hebrews enemies shall lay a barricade around them, keep them in on every side. This prophecy is not found anywhere in the old covenant which makes it all the more profound.

and will dash you and your children within you to the ground. THEY WILL NOT LEAVE IN YOU ONE STONE ON ANOTHER, because you didn’t know the time of your visitation.” (Luke 19:44 RNEB)

Yisrael is standing on the mount, Yahshua is saying your enemies will build a barrier encircled around you, keeping you in the city on every side. Then they will press in and will not leave one stone upon another, in other words they will tear down the walls.

Historical Events About The Seige of 70 AD

Assault troops attempt to breach the wall using a variety of methods – stone-hurling ballistas, spear throwing “scorpion” catapults, mantlets, siege towers, battering rams, and the testudo method of interlocking shields for attempt at undermining the wall’s strength. Jewish defenders, with covering fire from 340 artillery pieces of their own (captured after the Battle of Beth-horon and the taking of the Antonia Fortress four years earlier), attempt many sallies outside the walls of the city in a desperate attempt to drive the armies back.

With the 10th Legion providing covering fire, the 5th, 12th, and 15th roll over three massive siege towers against the Third Wall — each determined to be the first to create a breach. Battering rams are employed against the wall, and are countered by sacks lowered from the top of the wall intended to soften the blows.

The rams kept up their work, day in and day out, creating a massive din which troubled the sleep of the defenders.

On May 25, the wall gave way in all three locations. Legionaries scrambled up the crumbling walls to face the defenders, and eventually succeeded in opening the Jaffa Gate to the waiting Romans outside. The defenders were forced to flee behind the Second Wall — which dated back to 37 B.C. The second wall was much higher and thicker than the Third. Though it didn’t have as many towers as the Third, it incorporated the bastions of the Temple to the east and Herod’s Palace on the western side of the city.

Titus positions the battering rams to attack the central northern tower of the Second Wall. The tower crumbles, and a section of the wall adjacent to the tower collapsed. The defenders then retreated inside the First Wall. Josephus is used at this juncture to implore the partisans to surrender, promising honorable treatment at the hands of the Romans. The defenders, in response, threaten death to any of the hundreds of thousands of refugees still inside should they attempt to surrender.

Thousands of legionaries poured inside the ruined section of the wall, only to be caught up in a maze of narrow streets inside. Suddenly, gates opened in the First Wall and the Romans were overwhelmed and forced to retreat behind the Second Wall.

Titus orders sustained ramming operations and succeeds in opening several new breaches. When the Romans retake the Second Wall, the Jews are forced to again retreat inside the first wall. All buildings between the two walls are then demolished by the Romans. Titus then suspends the siege.

Over the next four days, the legions were parades in full-dress uniforms as Titus ceremoniously doled out the pay of every legionary. This was done in full view of the people, in an attempt to awe the defenders into surrender. People crowded the walls and windows of the city to watch the process. Josephus was sent again to negotiate a surrender — to no avail. The starving masses inside began resorting to any method of satisfying their hunger. Armed bands roved the city violently taking food from the women, children and aged — killing all who resisted. Jews caught foraging for food outside the walls were whipped and crucified. Upwards of 500 people a day were crucified until there were no more crosses to accommodate the victims.

In order to protect the camps, supply lines, and seal in the defenders of the city, Titus order the erection of a wall which would encircle the entire city — sealing in the inhabitants and sealing the fate of Yerushalayim.

The circumvallation made of five miles of trench and wall, with over a dozen forts built along its length. Certainly, the Third Wall was plundered for supplies. Those inside the city were astonished to see the entire project completed in just three days. This engineering and construction feat is a marvel of the ancient world and explains why Rome conquered the known world.

With this development civil war inside the city intensified. Josephus called once more for surrender. This time, he was hit on the head with a stone and was presumed dead, though he revived and resumed his peace efforts. (Visual timeline of the Roman-Jewish War)

Daniel said the people of the prince shall come to destroy the city and the sanctuary. Yahshua also gave us more clarification.

Yahshua went out from the temple, and was going on his way. His disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple. But he answered them, “Don’t you see all of these things? Most certainly I tell you, THERE WILL NOT BE LEFT HERE ONE STONE ON ANOTHER, THAT WILL NOT BE THROWN DOWN.” (Matthew 24:1-2 RNEB)

This corresponds to our secular History that said they uprooted all the stones. Titus and his army continued to move stones because when they burned the city gold started dripping from the walls of the temple. To be able to obtain all the gold, they moved every stone to gather it.

As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, WHEN WILL THESE THINGS BE? WHAT IS THE SIGN OF YOUR COMING, AND OF THE END OF THE AGE?” (Matthew 24:3 RNEB)

Yahshua was given three questions he needed to address.

  1. When will these things be?
  2. What is the sign of your coming?
  3. What is the sign of the end of the age?

Lets see his response.

Yahshua answered them, “Be careful that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Anointed,’ and will lead many astray. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you aren’t troubled, for all this must happen, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines, plagues, and earthquakes in various places. But all these things are the beginning of birth pains. Then they will deliver you up to oppression, and will kill you. You will be hated by all of the nations for my name’s sake. Then many will stumble, and will deliver up one another, and will hate one another. Many false prophets will arise, and will lead many astray. Because lawlessness will be multiplied, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end, the same will be saved. This Good News of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come. “WHEN, THEREFORE, YOU SEE THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION, WHICH WAS SPOKEN OF THROUGH DANIYEL THE PROPHET, STANDING IN THE HOLY PLACE (LET THE READER UNDERSTAND), (Matthew 24:4-15 RNEB)

Many religious leaders try to take verse fifteen and apply it to this age, however this is not applicable to our age, it has already happened.

then let those who are in Judah flee to the mountains. Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take out things that are in his house. Let him who is in the field not return back to get his clothes. But woe to those who are with child and to nursing mothers in those days! Pray that your flight will not be in the winter, nor on a Sabbath, for then there will be great oppression, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever will be. Unless those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved. But for the sake of the chosen ones, those days will be shortened. “Then if any man tells you, ‘Behold, here is the Anointed,’ or, ‘There,’ don’t believe it. For there will arise false messiahs, and false prophets, and they will show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones. “Behold, I have told you beforehand. If therefore they tell you, ‘Behold, he is in the wilderness,’ don’t go out; ‘Behold, he is in the inner chambers,’ don’t believe it. For as the lightning flashes from the east, and is seen even to the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For wherever the carcass is, there is where the vultures gather together. (Matthew 24:16-28 RNEB)

Yahshua told all the Hebrews, when you shall see the abomination of desolation, it’s the abomination that desolates spoken of by Daniel the prophet.

Yahshua has just finished answering the question when shall these things take place, in respect to the destruction of Yerushalayim, the city and the people in it. He told them when you see the abomination of desolation.

The Hebrews and historical references tell us a number of people heeded Yahshua’s warning and left the city in 66 CE when they saw C.F. Galus approaching the city. This event occurred during the Holy season, so there were many more people than normal in the city, who became part of the slaughter.

As some were talking about the temple and how it was decorated with beautiful stones and gifts, he said, “As for these things which you see, the days will come, in which there will not be left here one stone on another that will not be thrown down.” They asked him, “Rabbi, so when will these things be? What is the sign that these things are about to happen?” He said, “Watch out that you don’t get led astray, for many will come in my name, saying, ‘I AM,’ and, ‘The time is at hand.’ Therefore don’t follow them. When you hear of wars and disturbances, don’t be terrified, for these things must happen first, but the end won’t come immediately.” Then he said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines, and plagues in various places. There will be terrors and great signs from heaven. But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you, delivering you up to synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for my name’s sake. (Luke 21:5-12 RNEB)

These events have already occurred in the context of scripture, it was the apostles that were heavily persecuted, who is persecuting us now? We are not going through persecution, when was the last time someone tried to stone someone for witnessing about Yahshua?

It will turn out as a testimony for you. Settle it therefore in your hearts not to meditate beforehand how to answer, for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to withstand or to contradict. You will be handed over even by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends. They will cause some of you to be put to death. You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake. (Luke 21:13-17 RNEB)

Yahshua was explaining what would be occurring in the first thirty years of the assembly and the first few centuries afterwards.

And not a hair of your head will perish. “By your endurance you will win your lives. “BUT WHEN YOU SEE YERUSHALAYIM SURROUNDED BY ARMIES, THEN KNOW THAT ITS DESOLATION IS AT HAND. (Luke 21:18-20 RNEB)

The city was surrounded by armies between 66-70 CE.

Then let those who are in Judah flee to the mountains. Let those who are in the midst of her depart. Let those who are in the country not enter therein. FOR THESE ARE DAYS OF VENGEANCE, THAT ALL THINGS WHICH ARE WRITTEN MAY BE FULFILLED. Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who nurse infants in those days! For there will be great distress in the land, and wrath to this people. They will fall by the edge of the sword, AND WILL BE LED CAPTIVE INTO ALL THE NATIONS. YERUSHALAYIM WILL BE TRAMPLED DOWN BY THE GENTILES, UNTIL THE TIMES OF THE GENTILES ARE FULFILLED. (Luke 21:21-24 RNEB)

When the time of the gentiles is fulfilled YAH will bring Yisrael back into the land. The Gentiles [Indo Eurasians] took control of the city in 70 CE, and they will have possession of the city until their time is fulfilled and Yahshua comes back to judge them.

We need to realize that most of these events already occurred and have been documented by Flavios Josephus a historian of the time. He documented that over one million Hebrew Yisraelites were killed during the siege of Titus on Yerushalayim and 100,000 survivors were sold into slavery and driven to other nations.

For you, brothers, became imitators of the assemblies of Elohim which are in Judah in the Anointed Yahshua; for you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, even as they did from the Hebrews; who killed both Master Yahshua and their own prophets, and drove us out, and didn’t please Elohim, and are contrary to all men; forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved; to fill up their sins always. But wrath has come on them to the uttermost. (1 Thessalonians 2:14-16 RNEB)
In the first year of Belshatzar king of Babel Daniyel had a dream and visions of his head on his bed: then he wrote the dream and told the sum of the matters. Daniyel spoke and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the sky broke forth on the great sea. Four great animals came up from the sea, diverse one from another. (Daniel 7:1-3 RNEB)

The four great beasts represent four empires, the first beast is the Babylonian Empire, the second Medo-Persia, the third Greece, then Rome, and the sea represents people. When we look at Daniel 9:26 it says “the people of the prince who shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end of it shall be WITH A FLOOD,” flood, here is specifically talking about people, a large multitude.

Remember what Yahshua said, You are going to be extracted from Yerushalayim, and it shall be trampled down by the gentiles. Look at Yisrael today, where are the ethnic Hebrews? There are less than five thousand in the nation, out of a population of almost 7 million.

Behold, YAH’s hand is not shortened, that it can’t save; neither his ear heavy, that it can’t hear: but your iniquities have separated between you and your Elohim, and your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with lawlessness; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue mutters wickedness. None sues in righteousness, and none pleads in truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth lawlessness. They hatch adders’ eggs, and weave the spider’s web: he who eats of their eggs dies; and that which is crushed breaks out into a viper. Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of lawlessness, and the act of violence is in their hands. Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of lawlessness; desolation and destruction are in their paths. The way of peace they don’t know; and there is no justice in their goings: they have made them crooked paths; whoever goes therein does not know peace. Therefore is justice far from us, neither does righteousness overtake us: we look for light, but, behold, darkness; for brightness, but we walk in obscurity. We grope for the wall like the blind; yes, we grope as those who have no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the twilight; among those who are lusty we are as dead men. We roar all like bears, and moan sore like doves: we look for justice, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us. For our transgressions are multiplied before you, and our sins testify against us; for our transgressions are with us, and as for our iniquities, we know them: transgressing and denying YAH, and turning away from following our Elohim, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. Justice is turned away backward, and righteousness stands afar off; for truth is fallen in the street, and uprightness can’t enter. Yes, truth is lacking; and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. YAH saw it, and it displeased him who there was no justice. He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his own arm brought salvation to him; and his righteousness, it upheld him. He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on his head; and he put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a mantle. According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, wrath to his adversaries, recompense to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompense. So shall they fear the name of YAH from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy comes in like a flood, the spirit of YAH shall lift up a standard against him. (Isaiah 59:1-19 RNEB)

Flood can only mean a large number of people in this scripture.

I love you, YAH, my strength. YAH is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my Elohim, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower. I call on YAH, who is worthy to be praised; and I am saved from my enemies. The cords of death surrounded me. THE FLOODS OF UNOBEDIENCE MADE ME AFRAID. (Psalms 18:1-4 RNEB)

Yahshua told Yochanan in the book of Revelation not to even measure the outer courts of the temple because it was given to the gentiles. This was because the gentiles would trample the entire area, there would be a flood of gentiles and all of them would commit abominations, they brought in images, idols, and lawless doctrines.

After the sixty-two weeks the Anointed One shall be cut off, and shall have nothing: and the people of the prince who shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end of it shall be with a flood, and even to the end shall be war; DESOLATIONS ARE DETERMINED. (Daniel 9:26 RNEB)

Desolations in this verse is plural, so we have a desolator that will come in and perform many desolations.

Lets look at historical events that occurred 45 to 50 years after Yerushalayim fell so we can see the gentile rule and continued desolations.

Hadrian Augustus 117-138 AD – However there was a rush of hope among the Hebrews that better times were ahead. Hadrian visiting Judea in the years 130-131 seem to favor rebuilding the city of Yerushalayim, and restoration of the temple. The hopes of the Jewish population were soon dashed, rather than a new Yerushalayim and temple dedicated to the Elohim of the Hebrews the emperor revealed that instead he would rebuild the city as a Roman colony to be renamed Aelia Capitolina the name being a combination of his own name and that of the Roman god Jupiter Capitolinus. HE STARTED TO BUILD A TEMPLE TO JUPITER IN PLACE OF THE JEWISH HOLY TEMPLE. Not content with his victory Hadrian determined to eradicate the slightest possible of any future Judean uprising. Those Jews who did not manage to flee the land were killed or enslaved. Yerushalayim became a ROMANIZED CITY COMPLETELY RESETTLED BY GENTILES AND WITH A STATUE OF HADRIAN AND THE TEMPLE TO JUPITER PLACED ON THE SITE OF THE FORM HOLY OF HOLIES.

All the things we have covered in the prophecy have all happened as we have shown through historical documentation. Unlike many religious leaders believe, the prophetic events covered have already occurred, and we shouldn’t expect them to reoccur at the end of this age.

Lets look at the same verse in the Tanakh.

During one week he will make a firm covenant with many. For half a week he will put a stop to the sacrifice and the meal offering. AT THE CORNER [of the altar] will be an appalling abomination until the decreed destruction will be poured down upon the appalling thing. (Daniel 9:27 Tanakh)

In Josephus’s account as he documented some of the other witnesses, they were able to look from Masada, a higher point overlooking Yerushalayim, and the only wall left standing at the time was the supporting wall of Fort Antonio which was built by Herod for his legion. Another interesting point when we look at Daniel 9:27 is he says, even to the full end, and that determined, shall [wrath] be poured out on the desolate. The legion that came into Yerushalayim and killed numerous Hebrews, the vast majority of them were vacationing for the Holy days.

Another Historical Reference

The Western Wall in the midst of the Old City in Yerushalayim is the section of the Western supporting wall of the Temple Mount which has remained intact since the destruction of the Second Yerushalayim Temple (70 C.E.). It became the most sacred spot in Jewish religious and national consciousness and tradition by virtue of its proximity to the Western Wall of the Holy of Holies in the Temple, from which, according to numerous sources, THE DIVINE PRESENCE NEVER DEPARTED. It became a center of mourning over the destruction of the Temple and Israel’s exile, on the one hand, and of religious – in 20th century also national – communion with the memory of Israel’s former glory and the hope for its restoration, on the other. Because of the former association, it became known in European languages as the “Wailing Wall”. Since the Holy of Holies was destroyed, the notion of eternal Divine Presence became associated with the Western Wall of the Temple Mount. The Romans slew about 6000 on the spot, the temple was totally burned and only smoldering ruble remained along with the western wall. Those priests that did escape to the wall went without food for days and finally had to surrender and Titus ordered them killed. He said priests must fall with their temple. The Roman standard was raised in the ruins and they sacrificed to there pagan gods in the holy place.

The scripture says desolations are determined. Usepa said in the account of 70 CE at last the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophets was implanted in the very temple of god (the Essential usbius, Mentor Omega books 1966)

The Anointed died in the midst of the week, he put an end to sacrifices from a spiritual perspective, and Elohim then sent in the Romans “the people of the prince”, to tear down the temple, “desolations would be determined.” When this occurred there were a massive amount of people coming into the city “a flood.”

Yahshua said in the book of Luke, “you [Hebrews] will be led captive into all the nations. Yerushalayim will be trampled down by the gentiles, until the times of the gentiles are fulfilled.” The time of the gentiles is fulfilled at the return of the Anointed.

Were working with a prophetic week of seven years, the first three and a half of those years were centered around Yahshua’s ministry and have already been fulfilled. There is now three and a half years left to be fulfilled to complete the seventy weeks given to Daniel. Were going to look in the book of Revelation which was written in 96 CE, Rome was still in power during its writing and Yochanan was exiled to the island of Patamos and had a vision about 26 years after the temple had already been destroyed.

A reed like a rod was given to me. Someone said, “Rise, and measure Elohim’s temple, and the altar, and those who worship in it. Leave out the court which is outside of the temple, and don’t measure it, for it has been given to the nations. They will tread the holy city under foot for forty-two months. (Revelation 11:1-2 RNEB)

Yochanan was told not to measure the court because it was given to the gentiles, and the number was uncountable.

I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.” These are the two olive trees and the two menorot, standing before YAH of the earth. If anyone desires to harm them, fire proceeds out of their mouth and devours their enemies. If anyone desires to harm them, he must be killed in this way. (Revelation 11:3-5 RNEB)

There are two witnesses in Yerushalayim during these last three and a half years and their giving witness of Elohim and Yahshua, telling everyone to confess, repent, be purified, and keep the law.

We are missing three and a half years from the seventy weeks of Daniel, in the midst of the week he caused the sacrifice and oblation to stop. We have been able to account for sixty two weeks in the fulfillment of bringing about Yahshua and seven weeks in the building of the city, totaling sixty nine weeks, leaving us just the final week. In Daniel 9:27 we accounted for half of the final week, and now in Revelation were looking at another three and a half years, the second half of the week.

These have the power to shut up the sky, that it may not rain during the days of their prophecy. They have power over the waters, to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every plague, as often as they desire. When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and overcome them, and kill them. Their dead bodies will be in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sedom and Egypt, where also their Master was crucified. From among the peoples, tribes, languages, and nations people will look at their dead bodies for three and a half days, and will not allow their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb. Those who dwell on the earth rejoice over them, and they will be glad. They will give gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth. (Revelation 11:6-10 RNEB)

In the final part, we will conclude explaining the seventy weeks, which ends prophecy, and brings us into the theocratic age. To enter the theocratic age were going to have to deal with the last power that is raised on the earth and makes war against the lamb and the saints.
