The Truth About Grace

Grace is defined as the free and unmerited assistance, favour, energy or saving presence of YAH in his dealings with humanity…”. Grace is a gift of Elohim and is not considered to be deserved by any individual.

In this study we will show that grace has existed since the fall of man and answer the following questions.

  • Is the grace of the old testament the same as the new testament?
  • What does it mean to be justified by grace?
  • Does the availability of grace give us permission to sin?
  • What does it mean to serve Elohim?
  • How do we show obedience to Elohim’s word?
  • How do we become part of the remnant who are faithful?

Many in Christianity believe that grace is a new provision provided for in the new testament, which was not available before the anointed Yahshua arrived. The fact is, YAH’s grace has been available to transgressors of the law (sinners) since the fall of Adam. Any time a repentant sinner approaches Elohim grace and mercy were and are freely provided.

Lets look at script ures that show grace was available prior to the Anointed.

Grace was given to Noah

But Noah found favor in YAH’s eyes. (Genesis 6:8 RNEB)

Grace was given to Lot.

See now, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have magnified your loving kindness, which you have shown to me in saving my life. I can’t escape to the mountain, lest evil overtake me, and I die. (Genesis 19:19 RNEB)

Grace was given to Mosheh

Moshe said to YAH, “Behold, you tell me, ‘Bring up this people:’ and you haven’t let me know whom you will send with me. Yet you have said, ‘I know you by name, and you have also found favor in my sight.’ Now therefore, if I have found favor in your sight, please show me now your ways, that I may know you, so that I may find favor in your sight: and consider that this nation is your people.” (Exodus 33:12-13 RNEB)
For how would people know that I have found favor in your sight, I and your people? Isn’t it in that you go with us, so that we are separated, I and your people, from all the people who are on the surface of the earth?” YAH said to Moshe, “I will do this thing also that you have spoken; for you have found favor in my sight, and I know you by name.” (Exodus 33:16-17 RNEB)
He said, “If now I have found favor in your sight, Master, please let YAH go in the midst of us; although this is a stiff-necked people; pardon our lawlessness and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.” (Exodus 34:9 RNEB)

Grace was given to Gid`on.

He said to him, If now I have found favor in your sight, then show me a sign that it is you who talk with me. (Judges 6:17 RNEB)

Grace was given to David.

For YAH Elohim is a sun and a shield. YAH will give grace and glory. He withholds no good thing from those who walk blamelessly. (Psalms 84:11 RNEB)
Surely he mocks the mockers, but he gives grace to the humble. (Proverbs 3:34 RNEB)

Grace was given to the exiles.

Now for a little moment grace has been shown from YAH our Elohim, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our Elohim may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage. (Ezra 9:8 RNEB)

Grace was given to Yerushalayim.

I will pour on the house of David, and on the inhabitants of Yerushalayim, the spirit of grace and of supplication; and they will look to me whom they have pierced; and they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for his only son, and will grieve bitterly for him, as one grieves for his firstborn. (Zechariah 12:10 RNEB)

Grace was given to Yisrael.

Thus says YAH, The people who were left of the sword found favor in the wilderness; even Yisra’el, when I went to cause him to rest. (Jeremiah 31:2 RNEB)

Grace Through Yahshua

In the new testament, we find that the grace of Elohim that was present in the days of antiquity was now being channeled through the anointed Yahshua, however it’s still the exact same grace.

who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in the Anointed Yahshua before times eternal, (2 Timothy 1:9 RNEB)
For the Torah was given through Moshe. Grace and truth came through Yahshua the Anointed. (John 1:17 RNEB)
For the grace of Elohim has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, (Titus 2:11 RNEB)
I always thank my Elohim concerning you, for the grace of Elohim which was given you in the Anointed Yahshua; (1 Corinthians 1:4 RNEB)
that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in the Anointed Yahshua; (Ephesians 2:7 RNEB)

In other words, the Apostles believed that anyone could find grace in YAH Elohim, just as the ancients did.

But we believe that we are saved through the grace of Master Yahshua, just as they are.” (Acts 15:11 RNEB)

Justified By Grace

Justified is defined as, to prove or show to be just, right, or reasonable. Simply, if you are justified it is like you never transgressed the law (sinned).

No man is justified by obedience, we are justified by grace through faith in the anointed Yahshua. Being obedient, no matter how well it is done cannot blot out sins of the past. Sin (transgression of law) can only be punished or forgiven. When a repentant sinner approaches the Father through Yahshua, YAH forgives that sin, he extends grace to the sinner. Yahshua died to pay our price for sin. In times past animals needed to be sacrificed regularly each time someone transgressed the law (sinned), now it has been done for all time through the anointed Yahshua. This is only possible on account of the love, mercy, and grace of YAH.

for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of Elohim, (Ephesians 2:8 RNEB)
that, being justified by his grace, we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. (Titus 3:7 RNEB)

Grace Isn’t Permission to Sin

It would be foolish to assume that because we are justified by grace through faith that we are given a license to sin (disobey the law). If we are under grace, we should have victory over sin, living holy (set-apart) lives. Sin should not have any dominion over us, breaking the commandments and disobeying the law should be deplorable to us.

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? May it never be! We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer? (Romans 6:1-2 RNEB)
For sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace. What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under law, but under grace? May it never be! (Romans 6:14-15 RNEB)
How much worse punishment, do you think, will he be judged worthy of, who has trodden under foot the Son of Elohim, and has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? (Hebrews 10:29 RNEB)

We should by no means be deceived into thinking that obedience to the ten commandments and the law is unnecessary because we are saved by grace. If anything, our obedience should be more evident.

Being made free from sin, you became BONDSERVANTS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS. I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh, for as you presented your members as servants to uncleanness and to wickedness upon wickedness, even so now PRESENT YOUR MEMBERS AS SERVANTS TO RIGHTEOUSNESS FOR SANCTIFICATION. (Romans 6:18-19 RNEB)

To be righteous is to be free from sin, to be free of sin requires us to be obedient to the laws of Elohim, for sin is lawlessness.

Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness. (1 John 3:4 RNEB)

If grace means we are not under obligation to keep Elohim’s laws, then grace grants us permission to sin. YAH forbid!

Will you steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense to Ba`al, and walk after other elohims that you have not known, and come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered; that you may do all these abominations? (Jeremiah 7:9-10 RNEB)

We find the answer in the next verse.

I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brothers, even the whole seed of Efrayim. (Jeremiah 7:15 RNEB)

Being law observant does not earn our salvation as we have seen. However, in the same respect there is no reward given for paying your taxes, not stealing, for keeping the peace or just being kind hearted. Nevertheless, obedience to his way of life shows our gratitude for his atoning sacrifice of our past sins. Disobedience on the other hand reveals an indifference toward what Elohim has done for us and more seriously, a contempt for YAH himself. Following through with are example, if we don’t pay taxes, or if we disturb the peace, we will face punishment. Similarly, Elohim says.

Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of Elohim. (Galatians 5:19-21 RNEB)

If we practice sin (violate the law ) we will not inherit the kingdom! Truly, if we love YAH, we will keep his commandments.

If you love me, keep my commandments. (John 14:15 RNEB)
One who has my commandments, and keeps them, that person is one who loves me. One who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will reveal myself to him.” (John 14:21 RNEB)

We complete our faith by following through with actions (works). A faith that is truly sincere is proven by the fruit it produces.

Serving YAH

There are many in Christianity that believe they receive eternal life by believing in a savior. However, is there any more to this? A popular term in the Christian church is “Saved”. They say, “are you saved”? or “I am saved”! Though their simplification of the matter causes problems, the question remains what does it mean to be saved? Are you serving YAH?

Lets see what wisdom we can learn from scripture about this subject.

One who believes in the Son has eternal life, but one who disobeys the Son won’t see life, but the wrath of Elohim remains on him.” (John 3:36 RNEB)

It seems pretty simple, if we just believe will receive everlasting life. Even so, lets look at what it means to believe.

“Don’t think that I will accuse you to the Father. There is one who accuses you, even Moshe, on whom you have set your hope. For if you believed Moshe, you would believe me; for he wrote about me. But if you don’t believe his writings, how will you believe my words?” (John 5:45-47 RNEB)

Yahshua is telling the Scribes and Pharisees that if they had believed Moshe, then they would recognize him as the Anointed one. Now we know they believed that Moshe wrote what he wrote. However, was it understood and properly practiced in their lives? It’s apparent there was more to believing than just acknowledging someone exists.

Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself. Yes, a man will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without works, and I by my works will show you my faith. You believe that Elohim is one. You do well. The demons also believe, and shudder. But do you want to know, vain man, that faith apart from works is dead? (James 2:17-20 RNEB)

Someone that is serving YAH does believe, but the evidence that shows that they do is their works.

Works are defined as – activity in which one exerts strength or faculties to do or perform something. Now, lets see what works are being spoken about.

Wasn’t Abraham our father justified by works, in that he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? You see that faith worked with his works, and by works faith was perfected; and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed Elohim, and it was accounted to him as righteousness;” and he was called the friend of Elohim. You see then that by works, a man is justified, and not only by faith. (James 2:21-24 RNEB)

Obedience to YAH’s word requires actions or works. Abraham was willing to give up his son, what are we willing to do to walk in obedience? YAH expects us to give up our own will and conform to his will. He wants us to love him and love others.

One of them, a Torah scholar, asked him a question, testing him. “Rabbi, which is the greatest commandment in the Torah?” Yahshua said to him, “‘You shall love YAH your Elohim with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. A second likewise is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ The whole Torah and the Prophets depend on these two commandments.” (Matthew 22:35-40 RNEB)

If we just love him and love our neighbors that’s all we need to do? Yes as long as we understand and have been instructed in how to love YAH and our neighbors. The law and the ten Commandments were given to us to provide instruction on how we can live an obedient life and serve YAH, Elohim.

Lets review the Commandments.

You shall have no other elohims before me. “You shall not make an engraved image for yourself, [nor] any likeness [of anything] that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: you shall not bow down yourself to them, nor serve them; for I, YAH, your Elohim, am a jealous Elohim, visiting the lawlessness of the fathers on the children, and on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me; and showing loving kindness to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments. “You shall not take the name of YAH your Elohim in vain: for YAH will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain. “Observe the day of Sabbath, to keep it holy, as YAH your Elohim commanded you. Six days shall you labor, and do all your work; but the seventh day is a Sabbath to YAH your Elohim: [in it] you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates; that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you. You shall remember that you were a servant in the land of Egypt, and YAH your Elohim brought you out of there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm: therefore YAH your Elohim commanded you to keep the day of Sabbath. “Honor your father and your mother, as YAH your Elohim commanded you; that your days may be long, and that it may go well with you, in the land which YAH your Elohim gives you. “You shall not murder. “Neither shall you commit adultery. “Neither shall you steal. “Neither shall you give false testimony against your neighbor. “Neither shall you covet your neighbor’s wife; neither shall you desire your neighbor’s house, his field, or his male servant, or his female servant, his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.” (Deuteronomy 5:7-21 RNEB)

Notice the first four deal with loving YAH, while the last six apply to loving our neighbors. The anointed Yahshua often emphasized these commandments in his teachings because they were often ignored by the religious leaders of his day.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint, dill, and cumin, and have left undone the weightier matters of the Torah: justice, mercy, and faith. But you ought to have done these, and not to have left the other undone. (Matthew 23:23 RNEB)

Yahshua makes a clear statement “These need to have been done”. Today, most of Christianity ignores the first four commandments, many make and bow to idols (Crosses, Statues, Pictures, etc..), a large majority are taking Elohim’s name in vain without realizing it, and are not keeping the Sabbath. Sadly, the Sabbath has either been changed or ignored. Most people seem to only be concerned with loving their neighbor, but it’s just as important, if not more important for us to show our love for YAH! Part of loving YAH is worshiping him in the way he desires us to. This requires us to follow the law, the instructions he provided for us to live righteously and set-apart (holy) before him. He wants us to keep all Sabbath days, his appointed times (Feasts, convocations) and honor him with our obedience.

The law is not a heavy burden, understanding how YAH wants us to serve and love him brings liberty. We cannot serve him with things that seem right in our own eyes, but we need to honor him by doing things that are right in his eyes.

YAH’s law is perfect, restoring the soul. YAH’s testimony is sure, making wise the simple. (Psalms 19:7 RNEB)
For this is the love of Elohim, that we keep his commandments. His commandments are not grievous. (1 John 5:3 RNEB)
If you love me, keep my commandments. I will pray to the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, that he may be with you forever,– the Spirit of truth, whom the world can’t receive; for it doesn’t see him, neither knows him. You know him, for he lives with you, and will be in you. (John 14:15-17 RNEB)
“Why do you call me, ‘Master, Master,’ and don’t do the things which I say? Everyone who comes to me, and hears my words, and does them, I will show you who he is like. He is like a man building a house, who dug and went deep, and laid a foundation on the rock. When a flood arose, the stream broke against that house, and could not shake it, because it was founded on the rock. But he who hears, and doesn’t do, is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream broke, and immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great.” (Luke 6:46-49 RNEB)

The one who built his house on a rock was obedient to YAH’s word as his foundation. The one who built his house on the sand only acknowledged his words and did not act on them. Lets go deeper, there is more than just knowing and keeping the commandments. There are many doing this but all in pretense (an inadequate or insincere attempt). Someone who loves YAH and his neighbor will show this love in their personality and the overall spirit about them. If we have truly dedicated ourselves to serving YAH, we will have been implanted with his seed, and the fruit (characteristics) of that seed should be evident in our lives. Lets look at what characteristics we should be displaying as YAH’s people.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to the Anointed have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts. If we live by the Spirit, let’s also walk by the Spirit. (Galatians 5:22-25 RNEB)

This is the heart of the law and commandments. If we are walking in the love of YAH, which is expressed in the spirit and truth of the law, the fruit of the spirit would be evident in our lives, and we would be living and walking in the spirit. The true disciple (follower) would not transgress the law, because they would despise any act that was contrary to YAH’s will.

YAH’s People Are Few

Not all small groups are serving YAH, but his people are few in number.

One said to him, “Master, are they few who are saved?” He said to them, “Strive to enter in by the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will seek to enter in, and will not be able. When once the master of the house has risen up, and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside, and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Master, Master, open to us!’ then he will answer and tell you, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’ Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’ He will say, ‘I tell you, I don’t know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of lawlessness.’ (Luke 13:23-27 RNEB)
Not everyone who says to me, ‘Master, Master,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will tell me in that day, ‘Master, Master, didn’t we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?’ Then I will tell them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work lawlessness.’ (Matthew 7:21-23 RNEB)
“Enter in by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter in by it. How narrow is the gate, and restricted is the way that leads to life! Few are those who find it. (Matthew 7:13-14 RNEB)

We must “find it”, that means we have to be looking for it. The narrow gate is the way of truth and only a few are looking for it, let alone finding it! It’s much easier to go in the same direction as everyone else, it may even make us feel safe, with the belief all these people can’t be wrong, truly they love Elohim. However, scripture is telling us that the “narrow path” will not be the way of the many (few there will be that find it).

The faithful followers are the ones diligently seeking the truth. YAH seeks those whose heart is perfect toward him.

Elohim is speaking in the next verse to an unruly king.

For the eyes of YAH run back and forth throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong on the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein you have done foolishly; for from henceforth you shall have wars. (2 Chronicles 16:9 RNEB)

At this point you may still have not been convicted to keep the Sabbath, follow the law, or use the true name of our creator. YAH makes allowances for lack of knowledge, he’s looking for those whose heart is perfect toward him. Those that are walking in the truth that has been revealed to them and are continually seeking more.

Elohim looks at the heart, but we also need to be aware that we can’t just follow our hearts.

The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: who can know it? (Jeremiah 17:9 RNEB)

Those that are blind to certain truths are still without sin, lets see what Yahshua said.

Those of the Pharisees who were with him heard these things, and said to him, “Are we also blind?” Yahshua said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, ‘We see.’ Therefore your sin remains. (John 9:40-41 RNEB)

If a person is blind in an area that has not been revealed to them, they have no sin. But we must be aware that if we claim to know the truth the sin remains. It’s the perfect heart that YAH seeks. We will put forth fruit in accordance with what is in our heart, which will be either good or bad.

How do we keep from being blind to the truth?

But he answered, “Every plant which my heavenly Father didn’t plant will be uprooted. Leave them alone. They are blind guides of the blind. If the blind guide the blind, both will fall into a pit.” (Matthew 15:13-14 RNEB)

We must be careful to stay away from blind leaders, and we should never trust a man or denomination for our salvation or for the knowledge of how to achieve it.

Thus says YAH: Cursed is the man who trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from YAH. (Jeremiah 17:5 RNEB)

If a person is being passive and not seeking YAH, then there’s no excuse. YAH’s people should be continually seeking truth to avoid becoming lukewarm. Lets look at an example.

“To the angel of the assembly in Laodicea write: “The Amein, the Faithful and True Witness, the Head of Elohim’s creation, says these things: “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or hot. So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of my mouth. Because you say, ‘I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing;’ and don’t know that you are the wretched one, miserable, poor, blind, and naked; I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, that you may become rich; and white garments, that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see. As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me. He who overcomes, I will give to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father on his throne. (Revelation 3:14-21 RNEB)

Historically, this assembly of believers was in a wealthy city, most were very comfortable in earthly things. It’s easy to see how they became lukewarm, they were never really denying YAH, but they were also not seeking him and being zealous for his ways. Since they had all their needs met this was an easy situation for them to fall into. It’s very easy to forget YAH when things are going well, but then we don’t realize how wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked we have become! So, what should we do?

  • I advise you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire so that you become rich in the true, living faith, which is purified in the furnace of affliction.
  • Buy white garments, so that you become dressed, so the shame of your nakedness might not be shown; Be Set-Apart (Holy, Sanctified).
  • Anoint your eyes with ointment, so that you see truth, the Wisdom provided by YAH liberally for those who ask with a sincerity of heart.

If we don’t do these things we will be spewed from his mouth. Simply put, he will separate us from his body, the true assembly of Elohim.

However Elohim’s firm foundation stands, having this seal, “YAH knows those who are his,” and, “Let every one who names the name of YAH depart from unrighteousness.” (2 Timothy 2:19 RNEB)

The Pursuit of truth is the key to finding it. If YAH can find one person in Yerushalayim that seeks truth, he will save the entire city.

Run you back and forth through the streets of Yerushalayim, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places of it, if you can find a man, if there are any who does justly, who seeks truth; and I will pardon her. (Jeremiah 5:1 RNEB)

We can see the importance of knowing truth.

But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such to be his worshippers. Elohim is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4:23-24 RNEB)

The Spirit guides us into all truth.

the Spirit of truth, whom the world can’t receive; for it doesn’t see him, neither knows him. You know him, for he lives with you, and will be in you. (John 14:17 RNEB)
“When the Counselor has come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will testify about me. (John 15:26 RNEB)
However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming. (John 16:13 RNEB)

To Be led into truth, we must continue to obey the truth that has already been given.

We are His witnesses of these things; and so also is the Holy Spirit, whom Elohim has GIVEN TO THOSE WHO OBEY HIM.” (Acts 5:32 RNEB)
Seeing you have purified your souls IN YOUR OBEDIENCE TO THE TRUTH THROUGH THE SPIRIT in sincere brotherly affection, love one another from the heart fervently: (1 Peter 1:22 RNEB)

Those that ignore his ways (his method of doing) will never find him, even though they may seek him.

“How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? How long will mockers delight themselves in mockery, and fools hate knowledge? Turn at my reproof. Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you. I will make known my words to you. Because I have called, and you have refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no one has paid attention; but you have ignored all my counsel, and wanted none of my reproof; I also will laugh at your disaster. I will mock when calamity overtakes you; when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when your disaster comes on like a whirlwind; when distress and anguish come on you. Then will they call on me, but I will not answer. They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me; because they hated knowledge, and didn’t choose the fear of YAH. They wanted none of my counsel. They despised all my reproof. (Proverbs 1:22-30 RNEB)
I love those who love me. Those who seek me diligently will find me. (Proverbs 8:17 RNEB)
You shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13 RNEB)

Summing Up

We can see that YAH’s true followers are a small remnant of people that are scattered throughout the earth. What truly matters is our hearts, are we ignoring him or diligently seeking him? The scriptures are readily available in this age, so we may learn about YAH, and seek him. If we are obedient to the truth we know the spirit of truth will continue to reveal more truth. If we love YAH, we will not take pleasure in unrighteousness.

For the mystery of lawlessness ALREADY WORKS. Only there is one who restrains now, until he is taken out of the way. Then the lawless one will be revealed, whom YAH will kill with the breath of his mouth, and destroy by the manifestation of his coming; even he whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deception of wickedness for those who are being lost, BECAUSE THEY DIDN’T RECEIVE THE LOVE OF THE TRUTH, that they might be saved. Because of this, Elohim sends them a working of error, that THEY SHOULD BELIEVE A LIE; that they all might be judged who didn’t believe the truth, BUT HAD PLEASURE IN UNRIGHTEOUSNESS. (2 Thessalonians 2:7-12 RNEB)

Taking pleasure in unrighteousness is the same as not obeying the truth he has given us. The mystery of lawlessness, law is equated with truth and the mystery is the lie that we can serve YAH without adhering to the law which is the truth.

Closing Comments

Yahshua taught the essence of the Law and the Prophets was love. Many in Christendom believe this sets them free from following the law. Yahshua was not teaching this at all, in fact if we don’t obey the commandments we are not really walking in love.

If you look at what scripture says about the time Yahshua lived you will see the problems that were occurring within the assemblies were not entirely the same as they are today. Yahshua never had to teach people to keep Sabbaths, Festivals, or to eat clean foods, theses were already being kept.

What he did teach were commandments having to do with loving our neighbor which were being ignored for the folly of following traditions of men. In fact by this time over 1000 additional oral ordinances were added by the priests, these were never intended to be included by YAH. We must always base our understanding on the written word of YAH.

What we see occurring today is an interpretation of scripture which is the very opposite of what was being taught by Yahshua and the Apostles. Christendom has been engrafted into Greek thought and pagan rituals completely forsaking the laws of Elohim. The problem escalates further in that those who partake in Christendom have no idea what has occurred.

When reading the following scripture who does it apply to? Islam, Hinduism, or perhaps Buddhism?

Not everyone who says to me, ‘Master, Master,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will tell me in that day, ‘Master, Master, didn’t we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?’ Then I will tell them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work lawlessness.’ (Matthew 7:21-23 RNEB)

It appears obvious the only ones who would approach the Master bragging about mighty works and are walking in lawlessness not realizing they don’t have a relationship with the true creator are members of Christianity.
