Understanding Biblical Prosperity

The desire for wealth has existed since the fall of man, and with different degrees of wealth comes different social classes as well as ambition, jealousy, envy, coveting, and strife. There is also the frustration to excel in the areas of corporate recognition and promotions, besides the desires to achieve status according to the worlds standards and definitions of success.

We will look at who succeeds in the world system as a whole and why, will also look at the lamentations of the righteous to see the cause of their frustrations and determination.

The objective of this study is to answer the following questions.

  • Why do the unrighteous prosper?
  • Does the bible promise that the righteous will be rich?
  • What are the requirements for us to be righteous?
  • Should we be focusing on becoming rich in the world system?
  • Is it wrong to have riches in the world system?
  • How do we know where are treasure lies?
  • Who is in control of the world system?
  • Why are some individuals not being blessed and others are?

The first thing we need to understand is many don’t establish a stable lifestyle as a consequence of disobedience, slothfulness, lack of planning, prioritization, and the ability to conceptualize and achieve goals through diligence. We see many individuals in today’s society mismanaging their finances, making purchases that are not necessary, and they can’t afford rather than planning for their families future stability. We will always reap what we sow, and being prudent in all parts of our daily walk is crucial in establishing peace and stability in our household.

I have seen the wicked in great power, spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil. (Psalms 37:35 RNWEB)

The wicked grow, spread, and increase.

Righteous are you, YAH, when I contend with you; yet would I reason the cause with you: why does the way of the wicked prosper? why are all they at ease who deal very treacherously? (Jeremiah 12:1 RNWEB)

Notice how Jeremiah approached Elohim before asking his question, he makes sure he acknowledges that YAH is righteous. Then he asked why those who are unrighteous have been allowed to prosper with all their treachery.

We need to be very careful how we petition Elohim, this is his system, and there are many questions the righteous would like answered. The Torah tells us to be obedient, follow his code of ethics, and we will prosper. Even so, we see many prospering who don’t adhere to his laws, and many claiming to be righteous not prospering at all.

Those that live unrighteously are lying, stealing, backbiting, and contentious, yet they are still prospering. They shamelessly break the code of ethics given at Sinai, but there growing like a green tree, spreading themselves over the face of the earth.

Surely Elohim is good to Yisra’el, to those who are pure in heart. But as for me, my feet were almost gone. My steps had nearly slipped. For I was envious of the arrogant, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. (Psalms 73:1-3 RNWEB)

Solomon said there is nothing new under the sun, the way the sons of the covenant feel now is the same way they felt in the time of antiquity. Why those that are wicked prosper is a question that has been asked for thousands of years.

For there are no struggles in their death, but their strength is firm. They are free from burdens of men, neither are they plagued like other men. Therefore pride is like a chain around their neck. Violence covers them like a garment. THEIR EYES BULGE WITH FAT. Their minds pass the limits of conceit. (Psalms 73:4-7 RNWEB)

This is talking about men of great wealth and power that are cloaked in violence and wickedness, everything they see, they want.

They scoff and speak with malice. In arrogance, they threaten oppression. They have set their mouth in the heavens. Their tongue walks through the earth. Therefore their people return to them, and they drink up waters of abundance. They say, “How does Elohim know? Is there knowledge in the Most High?” Behold, these are the wicked. Being always at ease, they increase in riches. Surely in vain I have cleansed my heart, and washed my hands in innocence, FOR ALL DAY LONG HAVE I BEEN PLAGUED, AND PUNISHED EVERY MORNING. (Psalms 73:8-14 RNWEB)

The plaques were occurring on a righteous man. The most powerful men on the earth are wicked, there at ease with themselves because they own everything they desired, they are at odds with Elohim because they break all his laws and precepts, but these people are not burdened because their conscience has been seared, they have no remorse.

If I had said, “I will speak thus;” behold, I would have betrayed the generation of your children. When I tried to understand this, it was too painful for me; Until I entered Elohim’s sanctuary, and considered their latter end. Surely you set them in slippery places. You throw them down to destruction. How they are suddenly destroyed! They are completely swept away with terrors. As a dream when one wakes up, so, Master, when you awake, you will despise their fantasies. For my soul was grieved. I was embittered in my heart. I was so senseless and ignorant. I WAS A BRUTE BEAST BEFORE YOU. (Psalms 73:15-22 RNWEB)

He considered himself a brute beast because he was envious of those living unrighteously.

Nevertheless, I am continually with you. You have held my right hand. You will guide me with your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. Who do I have in heaven? There is no one on earth who I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart fails, but Elohim is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. For, behold, those who are far from you shall perish. You have destroyed all those who are unfaithful to you. But it is good for me to come close to Elohim. I have made YAH Elohim my refuge, that I may tell of all your works. (Psalms 73:23-28 RNWEB)
“Why do the wicked live, become old, yes, and grow mighty in power? (Job 21:7 RNWEB)

This question can be asked by all of us, if those who live unrighteously can grow old, prosper, and be in comfort during their lives, have we washed and cleansed our hearts for nothing? Only if were seeking our stability, comfort, and prosperity in the world system, with no hope of entering the Kingdom of Elohim.

Their child is established with them in their sight, their offspring before their eyes. Their houses are safe from fear, neither is the rod of Elohim upon them. Their bulls breed without fail. Their cows calve, and don’t miscarry. They send forth their little ones like a flock. Their children dance. They sing to the tambourine and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the pipe. They spend their days in prosperity. In an instant they go down to the grave. They tell Elohim, ’Depart from us, for we don’t want to know about your ways. What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? What profit should we have, if we pray to him?’ (Job 21:8-15 RNWEB)

Why are the wicked prospering and the children of the covenant not? Many believe it’s because Elohim is always chastening us, however he only does this when we have done something wrong, to correct us and bring us back to the truth.

There is something frustrating that occurs on earth, namely, that there are righteous people to whom things happen as if they were doing wicked deeds; and, again, there are wicked people to whom things happen as if they were doing righteous deeds. I say that this too is pointless. (Ecclesiastes 8:14 CJB)

We should eat, drink, and enjoy ourselves as we are diligent to work for as long as Elohim has given us to live. Thinking about what those who are unrighteous have obtained is senseless.

So there is nothing better for a man to do than eat, drink and and let himself enjoy the good that results from his work. I also realized that this is from Elohim’s hand. For who will eat and who will enjoy except me? For to the man who is good from [Elohim’s] viewpoint he gives wisdom, knowledge and joy; but to the sinner he gives the task of collecting and accumulating things to leave to him who is good from Elohim’s viewpoint. This too is pointless and feeding on wind. (Ecclesiastes 2:24-26 CJB)
that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust. (Matthew 5:45 RNWEB)

Rain falls on both the righteous and those who are unrighteous, the fields of both have the same opportunity to produce a prosperous crop.

In my pointless life, I’ve seen everything — from the righteous person perishing in his uprightness to the wicked one who lives a long life and keeps on doing wrong. (Ecclesiastes 7:15 CJB)
The righteous perishes, and no man lays it to heart; and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil [to come] (Isaiah 57:1 RNWEB)

Elohim can show his grace and favor by taking the righteous, so they don’t see the calamities he’s about to bring on the earth. Mankind is afraid of death because they know there unrighteous and are not ready to go. The righteous should be prepared at any given moment to go, this is why Shaul said, “Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of Elohim, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to Elohim, which is your reasonable service”.

He enters into peace; they rest in their beds, each one who walks in his uprightness. (Isaiah 57:2 RNWEB)

The state we die in is the same state we will be resurrected at judgment, we won’t be allowed to make any excuses or plead our case, we will have already been judged by the works of our hand, will just be there to hear the verdict. Now, why we’re living is when we have the opportunity to make things right and walk in righteousness.

DON’T LOVE THE WORLD, NEITHER THE THINGS THAT ARE IN THE WORLD. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love isn’t in him. For all that is in the world, THE LUST OF THE FLESH, THE LUST OF THE EYES, AND THE PRIDE OF LIFE, ISN’T THE FATHER’S, BUT IS THE WORLD’S. (1 John 2:15-16 RNWEB)

Lets break this down further:

  • Lust of the flesh – Sexual urges and carnal desires.
  • The lust of the eyes – Everything we see we want.
  • Pride of life – Pride in everything we have been able to obtain.

These are the fruits of the Adversary, Satan.

The world is passing away with its lusts, but he who does Elohim’s will remains forever. (1 John 2:17 RNWEB)
But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction. (1 Timothy 6:9 RNWEB)

Elohim doesn’t offer magic formulas for becoming rich, the word of Elohim is clear, we must learn to walk in righteousness and then through our obedience, he will show us favor according to his will in the situations and circumstances we may need to call on him. One of the rewards for righteousness is prosperity, which means that our needs will be met and there will be peace in our house. To be counted among the righteous we must be purified in the name of Yahshua the Anointed and be walking in the laws, precepts, and statutes of the Father, YAH.

Charge those who are rich in this present age that they not be haughty, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on the living Elohim, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy; (1 Timothy 6:17 RNWEB)
A certain ruler asked him, saying, “Good Rabbi, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” Yahshua asked him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good, except one–Elohim. (Luke 18:18-19 RNWEB)

There is only one that’s good and that’s Elohim not Man.

You know the commandments: ’Don’t commit adultery,’ ’Don’t murder,’ ’Don’t steal,’ ’Don’t give false testimony,’ ’Honor your father and your mother.’” (Luke 18:20 RNWEB)

The ruler asked what he needed to do to inherit eternal life, and Yahshua told him to keep all the commandments.

He said, “I have observed all these things from my youth up.” When Yahshua heard these things, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have, and distribute it to the poor. You will have treasure in heaven. Come, follow me.” (Luke 18:21-22 RNWEB)

Yahshua told him to distribute to the poor because this is written in the law, the ten commandments are only a summary of about 450 laws mandated in the Torah. Were supposed to help people that are ill fated in our community, and it’s not our place to judge them for the reason they are poor and lack basic necessities.

But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was very rich. Yahshua, seeing that he became very sad, said, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter into the Kingdom of Elohim! (Luke 18:23-24 RNWEB)

It’s hard for the rich because they have already obtained their kingdom within the world system, the kingdom we desire to be in is the one we strive for the hardest.

For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of Elohim.” (Luke 18:25 RNWEB)

This analogy is most likely referring to putting a rope through the eye of a needle, which in the time of the writing was generally made from camel hair.

Those who heard it said, “Then who can be saved?” But he said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with Elohim.” Peter said, “Look, we have left everything, and followed you.” He said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or wife, or brothers, or parents, or children, for the Kingdom of Elohim’s sake, who will not receive many times more in this time, and in the world to come, eternal life.” (Luke 18:26-30 RNWEB)
He entered and was passing through Yericho. There was a man named Zakkai. He was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. (Luke 19:1-2 RNWEB)

Tax collectors had bad reputations in the community because not only would they collect the tax, but they would also take extra money for themselves.

He was trying to see who Yahshua was, and couldn’t because of the crowd, because he was short. He ran on ahead, and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was to pass that way. When Yahshua came to the place, he looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zakkai, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.” He hurried, came down, and received him joyfully. When they saw it, they all murmured, saying, “He has gone in to lodge with a man who is a sinner.” Zakkai stood and said to the Master, “Behold, Master, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much.” Yahshua said to him, “Today, salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:3-10 RNWEB)

The rich young ruler refused to give to the poor, but Zakkai knows that giving to the poor is written in the law and his desire was to inherit eternal life, so he made a decision to make keeping the law first place in his life.

The poor person is shunned even by his own neighbor, but the rich person has many friends. (Proverbs 14:20 RNWEB)
For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits his own self? (Luke 9:25 RNWEB)

If this is the focus of someone’s life, they may have wealth in this world, but they won’t obtain entrance into the Kingdom of Elohim. Elohim has to be first place in our lives, coming before all other things. We make Elohim first place in our lives by keeping his law above all other things.

When you sit to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before you; put a knife to your throat, if you are a man given to appetite. Don’t be desirous of his dainties, seeing they are deceitful food. Don’t weary yourself to be rich. In your wisdom, show restraint. (Proverbs 23:1-4 RNWEB)

We should not strive to be rich, however there is nothing wrong with working and making a high income, as long as we do it righteously with Elohim’s laws in front of every thought, idea, and work, we set our hand to do.

I made myself great works. I built myself houses. I planted myself vineyards. I made myself gardens and parks, and I planted trees in them of all kinds of fruit. I made myself pools of water, to water from it the forest where trees were reared. I bought male servants and female servants, and had servants born in my house. I also had great possessions of herds and flocks, above all who were before me in Yerushalayim; I also gathered silver and gold for myself, and the treasure of kings and of the provinces. I got myself male and female singers, and the delights of the sons of men–musical instruments, and that of all sorts. So I was great, and increased more than all who were before me in Yerushalayim. My wisdom also remained with me. Whatever my eyes desired, I didn’t keep from them. I didn’t withhold my heart from any joy, for my heart rejoiced because of all my labor, and this was my portion from all my labor. THEN I LOOKED AT ALL THE WORKS THAT MY HANDS HAD WORKED, AND AT THE LABOR THAT I HAD LABORED TO DO; AND BEHOLD, ALL WAS VANITY AND A CHASING AFTER WIND, AND THERE WAS NO PROFIT UNDER THE SUN. (Ecclesiastes 2:4-11 RNWEB)

Solomon realized even though he had much and was able to obtain all things it was all futile, and had no depth or substance. Yahshua said, what is it for a man to gain the world, but lose his life . Solomon realized that he had taken his eyes off the prize, the larger picture, and the things he enjoyed didn’t compare to what he could lose.

For wisdom is a defense, even as money is a defense; but the excellency of knowledge is that wisdom preserves the life of him who has it. (Ecclesiastes 7:12 RNWEB)

Wisdom and money provide security, if we make good decisions and have financial resources in life, we receive some stability and peace. We shouldn’t be laboring to be rich, we labor to be comfortable, stable, and happy.

I know that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice, and to do good as long as they live. (Ecclesiastes 3:12 RNWEB)

Our lives have two points, life and death, and we are measured by everything we have done and said in between.

ALSO THAT EVERY MAN SHOULD EAT AND DRINK, AND ENJOY GOOD IN ALL HIS LABOR, IS THE GIFT OF ELOHIM.I know that whatever Elohim does, it shall be forever. Nothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it; and Elohim has done it, that men should fear before him. That which was is here already; and that which will be has already been, but Elohim seeks again that which is passed away. (Ecclesiastes 3:13-15 RNWEB)

There is nothing wrong with living within the financial means our labor brings in. We can purchase and enjoy anything that’s within our means while we are walking righteously. If we want a large house and can afford it, there’s nothing wrong with that, as long as we don’t partake of the pride of life by boasting about what we have and coveting our belongings.

IN THE DAY OF PROSPERITY BE JOYFUL, AND IN THE DAY OF ADVERSITY CONSIDER; yes, Elohim has made the one side by side with the other, to the end that man should not find out anything after him. (Ecclesiastes 7:14 RNWEB)

None of us has a problem rejoicing in the days of our prosperity, but if were wise we will consider the day of adversity, when things may turn. The wise will set resources aside to help them if adversity comes, such as the economy turning or some other form of calamity making things difficult. We live in the world and that’s just the way the system works. Elohim learns who we are when we are in adverse situations, that’s when everything hiding within us is exposed.

One of the multitude said to him, “Rabbi, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.” But he said to him, “Man, who made me a judge or an arbitrator over you?” He said to them, “Beware! KEEP YOURSELVES FROM COVETOUSNESS, FOR A MAN’S LIFE DOESN’T CONSIST OF THE ABUNDANCE OF THE THINGS WHICH HE POSSESSES.” (Luke 12:13-15 RNWEB)

In the world system, a man is measured by his life gains, however that’s not how we are measured by Elohim. We need to purge ourselves of covetousness, it’s a violation of the law and misdirects our attention to the things of this world. There is nothing wrong with having money and buying things that make us happy, as long as we keep Elohim first place in our life and follow all the laws of righteousness.

He spoke a parable to them, saying, “The ground of a certain rich man brought forth abundantly. He reasoned within himself, saying, ’What will I do, because I don’t have room to store my crops?’ He said, ’This is what I will do. I will pull down my barns, and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. I will tell my soul, “SOUL, YOU HAVE MANY GOODS LAID UP FOR MANY YEARS. TAKE YOUR EASE, EAT, DRINK, BE MERRY.”’ “But Elohim said to him, ’You foolish one, tonight your soul is required of you. The things which you have prepared–whose will they be?’ So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward Elohim.” (Luke 12:16-21 RNWEB)

The rich man was going to pull down his barns and build bigger ones, which there is nothing wrong with except, he was doing this to be able to gather more goods for himself, to have a strong surplus, when he already had ample goods put away, instead of helping people in his community that may have needed help.

“Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal; FOR WHERE YOUR TREASURE IS, THERE YOUR HEART WILL BE ALSO. (Matthew 6:19-21 RNWEB)

Whatever our primary thoughts are each day this is where our treasure lies. For example, if we spend most of our time talking about money and goods, even if it’s someone else’s, then our treasure is in the world system, things that are temporary. Our primary thoughts each day should be on the word of Elohim, walking in the fear of displeasing the father by not following his precepts of righteousness.

Not that I speak in respect to lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it. (Philippians 4:11 RNWEB)

We need to learn to be content in whatever condition we find ourselves, as long as we have the basic necessities. This does not mean we shouldn’t aspire to better ourselves, however we need to be careful that the force we use to drive ourselves does not contend with the righteous precepts of Elohim. It’s very easy to align ourselves with the world and forsake Elohim if were not careful.

But having food and clothing, we will be content with that. (1 Timothy 6:8 RNWEB)

We need the basic necessities, food, water, clothing and shelter. If we can meet these needs and then further grow in abundance, that’s good, as long as we don’t become high minded or lose focus on the things that are really important.

You shall remember all the ways which YAH your Elohim has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, TO TEST YOU, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments, or not. (Deuteronomy 8:2 RNWEB)

The test was to see what was in their heart as exhibited by their actions. It’s impossible to have one thing in your heart and exhibit something else in your works. When we are put under pressure all the hidden things of the mind are exposed by are actions and words.

He humbled you, and allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna, which you didn’t know, neither did your fathers know; that he might make you know that man does not live by bread only, but by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of YAH does man live. Your clothing didn’t grow old on you, neither did your foot swell, these forty years. You shall consider in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so YAH your Elohim chastens you. You shall keep the commandments of YAH your Elohim, to walk in his ways, and to fear him. For YAH your Elohim brings you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of springs, and underground water flowing into valleys and hills; a land of wheat and barley, and vines and fig trees and pomegranates; a land of olive trees and honey; a land in which you shall eat bread without scarceness, you shall not lack anything in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you may dig copper. You shall eat and be full, and you shall bless YAH your Elohim for the good land which he has given you. BEWARE LEST YOU FORGET YAH YOUR ELOHIM, IN NOT KEEPING HIS COMMANDMENTS, AND HIS ORDINANCES, AND HIS STATUTES, WHICH I COMMAND YOU THIS DAY: LEST, WHEN YOU HAVE EATEN AND ARE FULL, AND HAVE BUILT GOODLY HOUSES, AND LIVED THEREIN; AND WHEN YOUR HERDS AND YOUR FLOCKS MULTIPLY, AND YOUR SILVER AND YOUR GOLD IS MULTIPLIED, AND ALL THAT YOU HAVE IS MULTIPLIED; THEN YOUR HEART BE LIFTED UP, AND YOU FORGET YAH YOUR ELOHIM, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage; who led you through the great and terrible wilderness, [in which were] fiery serpents and scorpions, and thirsty ground where was no water; who brought you forth water out of the rock of flint; who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers didn’t know; that he might humble you, and that he might prove you, to do you good at your latter end: AND [LEST] YOU SAY IN YOUR HEART, MY POWER AND THE MIGHT OF MY HAND HAS GOTTEN ME THIS WEALTH. (Deuteronomy 8:3-17 RNWEB)

Elohim was warning them not to become high minded when they are prospering, forgetting him and exalting the works of their hand as if Elohim had no part in it.

But you shall remember YAH your Elohim, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth; that he may establish his covenant which he swore to your fathers, as it is this day. (Deuteronomy 8:18 RNWEB)

Elohim is the one who empowers us to get wealth and all he is asking in return is our obedience and to receive the glory, we need to thank him for what we have achieved, we didn’t do this ourselves.

There are some who pretend to be rich, yet have nothing. There are some who pretend to be poor, yet have great wealth. (Proverbs 13:7 RNWEB)
“To the angel of the assembly in Laodicea write: “The Amein, the Faithful and True Witness, the Head of Elohim’s creation, says these things: “I KNOW YOUR WORKS, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or hot. (Revelation 3:14-15 RNWEB)

Notice it was the WORKS of the Laodiceans that were being judged. We are known by our works, not what we claim to believe in our heart.

So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of my mouth. (Revelation 3:16 RNWEB)

The state of being lukewarm refers to people walking the line, they may be interested in learning, but never partake of the covenant through purification, they don’t make the commitment because they are too comfortable in the world system.

Because you say, ’I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing;’ and don’t know that you are the wretched one, miserable, poor, blind, and naked; (Revelation 3:17 RNWEB)

In Laodicea there was a considerable amount of wealth and many of the converts would have had an abundance of material things. Apparently, their mind was more focused on money than it was the word of Elohim. They were poor, blind, and naked because there was absolutely no spiritual substance, the people were trying to serve two masters, Elohim and Mammon.

I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, that you may become rich; and white garments, that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see. As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me. He who overcomes, I will give to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father on his throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.” (Revelation 3:18-22 RNWEB)
in whom the elohim of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of the Anointed, who is the image of Elohim, should not dawn on them. (2 Corinthians 4:4 RNWEB)

The power of this world has blinded the mind of the unbelieving.

Yahshua, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Yarden, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness for forty days, being tempted by the devil. He ate nothing in those days. Afterward, when they were completed, he was hungry. The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of Elohim, command this stone to become bread.” Yahshua answered him, saying, “It is written, ’Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of Elohim.’” The devil, leading him up on a high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. The devil said to him, “I will give you all this authority, and their glory, for it has been delivered to me; and I give it to whomever I want. (Luke 4:1-6 RNWEB)

The adversary gave Yahshua a vision and showed him all the kingdoms of the world. Elohim is not the only one that can give us a vision, the god of this world system can give visions also, as well as an abundance of wealth. We serve him by being antagonistic to the covenant, the counterpoint of Elohim’s righteousness. The god of this world offered Yahshua wealth, power, and glory to worship him. The adversary also said all the wealth of the world belonged to him, and he can give it, to whoever he wants.

If you therefore will worship before me, it will all be yours.” Yahshua answered him, “Get behind me Satan! For it is written, ’You shall worship YAH your Elohim, and him only shall you serve.’” (Luke 4:7-8 RNWEB)
The great dragon was thrown down, the old serpent, he who is called the devil and Satan, THE DECEIVER OF THE WHOLE WORLD. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. (Revelation 12:9 RNWEB)

Satan has deceived the world, more than 70% of what the world calls righteousness is really unrighteousness according to the word of Elohim. The people of this world have been trained to go to war with Elohim!

We know that we are of Elohim, and THE WHOLE WORLD LIES IN THE POWER OF THE EVIL ONE. (1 John 5:19 RNWEB)

The entire world is in the power of the Adversary, the devil, and many are easily seduced and caught up in his ways. Remember what Yahshua said, “for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter in by it” (Matt 7:13).

You adulterers and adulteresses, don’t you know that friendship with the world is enmity with Elohim? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of Elohim. (James 4:4 RNWEB)

If we embrace any part of the world system were embracing wickedness, we are told in scripture to live as vagabonds and sojourners, living outside the main stream system realizing that we can’t fully participate without striving against Elohim.

The earth is given into the hand of the wicked. He covers the faces of the judges of it. If not he, then who is it? (Job 9:24 RNWEB)

Everyone we interact with outside the covenant is wicked and unclean in the eyes of Elohim.

Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never goes forth; for the wicked surround the righteous; therefore justice goes forth perverted. (Habakkuk 1:4 RNWEB)

The law has no power and justice never occurs because everywhere we go there is wickedness. So there is no law, justice or peace because we live and work amongst the wicked.

In YAH, I take refuge. How can you say to my soul, “Flee as a bird to your mountain!” FOR, BEHOLD, THE WICKED BEND THEIR BOWS. THEY SET THEIR ARROWS ON THE STRINGS, THAT THEY MAY SHOOT IN DARKNESS AT THE UPRIGHT IN HEART. (Psalms 11:1-2 RNWEB)

The wicked come after the righteous as prey, we need to be very discerning, the scripture says the righteous man chooses his friends very carefully. A wise man will see calamity coming and avoid it, where the foolish man won’t be looking and will suffer because of it.

The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to kill him. (Psalms 37:32 RNWEB)

We need to drink water out of our own well and be content with what Elohim provides for us in moderation and humility. If we do more than this were seeking after world values and standards, which rest in wickedness.

in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the powers of the air, THE SPIRIT WHO NOW WORKS IN THE CHILDREN OF DISOBEDIENCE; (Ephesians 2:2 RNWEB)
When they had come to Peterr-Nachum, those who collected the didrachma coins came to Peter, and said, “Doesn’t your teacher pay the didrachma?” He said, “Yes.” When he came into the house, Yahshua anticipated him, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth receive toll or tribute? From their children, or from strangers?” Peter said to him, “From strangers.” Yahshua said to him, “Therefore the children are exempt. (Matthew 17:24-26 RNWEB)

We’re not children of the world system, so we won’t be exempt from its levies. We are the strangers, those who are persecuted for seeking righteousness and putting it first place in our life when we find it. The wicked and lawless who prosper are the sons of Helel and move throughout the world system without fear of recompense.

Behold, these are the wicked. Being always at ease, they increase in riches. Surely in vain I have cleansed my heart, and washed my hands in innocence, FOR ALL DAY LONG HAVE I BEEN PLAGUED, AND PUNISHED EVERY MORNING. (Psalms 73:12-14 RNEB)

Helel goes after the sons of Elohim to overthrow them. His own children are rewarded with their hearts desire.

How you have fallen from heaven, Helel, son of the dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, who laid the nations low! (Isaiah 14:12 RNWEB)
You will not join them in burial, because you have destroyed your land. You have killed your people. The seed of evil-doers will not be named forever. (Isaiah 14:20 RNWEB)

Helel received possession of the entire earth, and he corrupted it, he deceived everyone into practicing unrighteousness and blessed them for it. He then killed his own people by teaching prosperity doctrines, convincing them that they have a holy spirit and didn’t need to read the bible, that the law has been nailed to the cross and god talks to them through the spirit. There is no need to study and no accountability, just the way those who walk in lawlessness like it.

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them and embraced them from afar, AND HAVING CONFESSED THAT THEY WERE STRANGERS AND PILGRIMS ON THE EARTH. (Hebrews 11:13 RNWEB)

They never tied into the world system, because everything in it is wickedness and manifestations of uncleanness.

For those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a country of their own. If indeed they had been thinking of that country from which they went out, they would have had enough time to return. But now they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore Elohim is not ashamed of them, to be called their Elohim, for he has prepared a city for them. (Hebrews 11:14-16 RNWEB)
