Yahshua Pre-Incarnate II

The purpose of this study is to analyze several scriptures used to support the theological point of view that Yahshua the Anointed existed in a pre-incarnate state before his birth through a woman.

We will answer the following questions:

  • Did Yahshua pre-exist?
  • Did Yahshua give the commandments to Moshe?
  • Was Yahshua the Elohim of the old testament?
  • Was Yahshua the one seen on the mount by the elders?
  • What does it mean when Yahshua said "I and my father are one"?

The objective of this study is to address the theological notion prevalent in Christianity that the Messiah has existed since the beginning of time and played an active part in events that occurred throughout biblical history.

This belief has erroneously nullified the position of the one true creator and Most High, YAH, redirecting the praise and glory that only he deserves to another.

1 Corinthians 10:1-11

Now I would not have you ignorant, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; and were all purified into Moshe in the cloud and in the sea; and all ate the same spiritual food; (1 Corinthians 10:1-3 RNEB)

The cloud represents divine guidance, and the sea represents deliverance.

and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Anointed. (1 Corinthians 10:4 RNEB)

They received food and water by the spirit when they were at Mount Sinai. We have already seen it was an angel that did this, and shown Yahshua was not an angel. Every place Christendom places Yahshua [Jesus] in the old testament scripture tells us it was an angel.

Many versions of scripture translate this verse "the rock was the anointed," or the rock was Christ." Christ is not a name it simply means anointed. The verse should properly read "the rock was anointed," based on the word being used in the original language. Simply put the verse is saying the anointed one supplied all there needs in the wilderness.

Let’s see who the anointed one was.

"Behold, I SEND AN ANGEL BEFORE YOU, to keep you by the way, and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. Pay attention to him, and listen to his voice. Don’t provoke him, for he will not pardon your disobedience, FOR MY NAME IS IN HIM. (Exodus 23:20-21 RNEB)

It was an angel that went before Yisrael, and spoke on YAH’s behalf as an ambassador.

But if you indeed LISTEN TO HIS VOICE, AND DO ALL THAT I SPEAK, then I will be an enemy to your enemies, and an adversary to your adversaries. FOR MY ANGEL SHALL GO BEFORE YOU, and bring you in to the Amori, the Chittite, the Perizzi, the Kena`ani, the Chivvi, and the Yevusi; and I will cut them off. You shall not bow down to their elohims, nor serve them, nor follow their practices, but you shall utterly overthrow them and demolish their pillars. (Exodus 23:22-24 RNEB)

The Most High sent his angel to go before Yisrael to carry the message but it’s YAH’s word.

All the congregation of the children of Yisra’el traveled from the wilderness of Sin, by their journeys, according to YAH’s commandment, and encamped in Refidim; but there was no water for the people to drink. Therefore the people quarreled with Moshe, and said, "Give us water to drink." Moshe said to them, "Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test YAH?" The people were thirsty for water there; and the people murmured against Moshe, and said, "Why have you brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us, our children, and our livestock with thirst?" Moshe cried to YAH, saying, "What shall I do with these people? They are almost ready to stone me." YAH said to Moshe, "Walk on before the people, and take the elders of Yisra’el with you, and take the rod in your hand with which you struck the Nile , and go. BEHOLD, I WILL STAND BEFORE YOU THERE ON THE ROCK in Chorev. You shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink." Moshe did so in the sight of the elders of Yisra’el. (Exodus 17:1-6 RNEB)

It was an angel that went before Moshe when he went to strike the rock, which was acting as an ambassador of YAH. To better understand the workings of angels read the series of articles on the The Divine Order.

He called the name of the place Massah, and Merivah, because the children of Yisra’el quarreled, and because they tested YAH, saying, "Is YAH among us, or not?" (Exodus 17:7 RNEB)
It happened, when Par`oh had let the people go, that Elohim didn’t lead them by the way of the land of the Pelishtim, although that was near; for Elohim said, "Lest perhaps the people change their minds when they see war, and they return to Egypt;" but Elohim led the people around by the way of the wilderness by the Sea of Suf; and the children of Yisra’el went up armed out of the land of Egypt. Moshe took the bones of Yosef with him, for he had made the children of Yisra’el swear, saying, "Elohim will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones away from here with you." They took their journey from Sukkot, and encamped in Etam, in the edge of the wilderness. YAH went before them by day in a pillar of cloud, to lead them on their way, and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light, that they might go by day and by night: the pillar of cloud by day, and the pillar of fire by night, didn’t depart from before the people. (Exodus 13:17-22 RNEB)
THE ANGEL OF ELOHIM, WHO WENT BEFORE THE CAMP OF YISRA’EL, MOVED AND WENT BEHIND THEM; and the pillar of cloud moved from before them, and stood behind them. (Exodus 14:19 RNEB)
and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of A SPIRITUAL ROCK THAT FOLLOWED THEM, and the rock was the Anointed. (1 Corinthians 10:4 RNEB)

The source of the water was the anointed which followed them, which was an angel.

THE ANGEL OF ELOHIM, who went before the camp of Yisra’el, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud moved from before them, and stood behind them. It came between the camp of Egypt and the camp of Yisra’el; and there was the cloud and the darkness, yet gave it light by night: and the one didn’t come near the other all the night. Moshe stretched out his hand over the sea, AND YAH CAUSED THE SEA TO GO BACK by a strong east wind all the night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. (Exodus 14:19-21 RNEB)

Sha’ul is telling us the source of all this is Elohim, who sent an angel [malak] as his agent.

and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Anointed. However with most of them, Elohim was not well pleased, for they were overthrown in the wilderness. (1 Corinthians 10:4-5 RNEB)

Look what Sha’ul is saying about all Yisrael that came out of Egypt, they were guided by the cloud, had deliverance by the water, were given food and water by the spirit, yet it says Elohim was not pleased because they were overthrown in the wilderness.

Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. Neither be idolaters, as some of them were. As it is written, "The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play." Neither let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them committed, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell. NEITHER LET US TEST ELOHIM, as some of them tested, and perished by the serpents. (1 Corinthians 10:6-9 RNEB)

In many versions rather than saying test Elohim, they are rendered "let us not test Christ", however in this context the proper rendering is Elohim.

Why Elohim? It’s because the anointed Malak [angel] (verse 10:4) also called Elohim in the following verse (10:5), was the one who followed them and was the source of their deliverance as seen in verse 10:4; however, Elohim (YAH) is clearly in view in the following verses 5-8. If we leave it as Christ then we give the perception that Yahshua is in view when he isn’t.

This translation corresponds with the events and the originator of the Old Testament, and is in agreement with a variety of greek manuscripts.

Therefore the people quarreled with Moshe, and said, "Give us water to drink." Moshe said to them, "Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test YAH?" (Exodus 17:2 RNEB)
YAH sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and many people of Yisra’el died. The people came to Moshe, and said, We have sinned, because we have spoken against YAH, and against you; pray to YAH, that he take away the serpents from us. Moshe prayed for the people. YAH said to Moshe, Make you a fiery serpent, and set it on a standard: and it shall happen, that everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live. (Numbers 21:6-8 RNEB)

The sum of the matter is that it can be translated, YAH, Elohim or Christ depending on what Greek manuscript you defer to and the reasoning you choose.

We defer to Elohim and YAH because of several older manuscripts, the entity that Sha’ul was speaking of in the respective verses, and because it’s the most contextually correct.

Yahshua answered him, saying, "It is written, ’Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of Elohim.’" The devil, leading him up on a high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. The devil said to him, "I will give you all this authority, and their glory, for it has been delivered to me; and I give it to whomever I want. If you therefore will worship before me, it will all be yours." Yahshua answered him, "Get behind me Satan! For it is written, ’YOU SHALL WORSHIP YAH YOUR ELOHIM, AND HIM ONLY SHALL YOU SERVE.’" (Luke 4:4-8 RNEB)

Our focus should never be on worshipping Yahshua, the father always receives all glory and praise, as we see Yahshua himself saying in this verse. The scripture does not support the divinity of Yahshua [Jesus], so by worshipping him instead of the father were breaking the first two commandments.

Neither grumble, as some of them also grumbled, and perished by the destroyer. Now all these things happened to them by way of example, and they were written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the ages have come. Therefore let him who thinks he stands be careful that he doesn’t fall. No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. Elohim is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:10-13 RNEB)

What we’re seeing is if the Messiah did pre-exist it could have only been as an angel, because scripture specifically tells us it was an angel that did these things.

FOR TO WHICH OF THE ANGELS DID HE SAY AT ANY TIME, "YOU ARE MY SON. Today have I become your father?" and again, "I will be to him a Father, and he will be to me a Son?" Again, WHEN HE BRINGS IN THE FIRSTBORN INTO THE WORLD HE SAYS, "LET ALL THE ANGELS OF ELOHIM WORSHIP HIM." (Hebrews 1:5-6 RNEB)

There’s no way Yahshua could have been an angel in the old testament then become the first born.

When did Yahshua become the first born?

When he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, to whom he also testified, ’I have found David the son of Yishai, a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’ FROM THIS MAN’S SEED, ELOHIM HAS BROUGHT SALVATION TO YISRA’EL ACCORDING TO HIS PROMISE, (Acts 13:22-23 RNEB)

How is it possible that Yahshua is the son of David? This wouldn’t be possible if we try to make him more than a man, he had to be born of David’s seed who was a man. Some would say Mariam, Yahshua’s mother was in the lineage of David, however she could not pass on the seed, the seed comes from the male. The idea that Yahshua was not a man, when all the prophecies of old, and all the contextual witnesses in the new testament say other wise can only lead to a great deal of confusion. For a much more detailed understanding of this topic please read the articles on The Man Yahshua.

that Elohim has fulfilled the same to us, their children, in that he raised up Yahshua. As it is also written in the second psalm, ’YOU ARE MY SON. TODAY I HAVE BECOME YOUR FATHER.’ (Acts 13:33 RNEB)

This day you are born. When was he born as the son of Elohim? Yahshua was born as a man through a woman, which was his first birth and then he was born again when he was raised from the dead, which was his second birth.

Yochanan, to the seven assemblies that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace, from Elohim, who is and who was and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits who are before his throne; and from Yahshua the Anointed, the faithful witness, THE FIRSTBORN OF THE DEAD, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us, and washed us from our sins by his blood; (Revelation 1:4-5 RNEB)

Yahshua was the first born from the dead at his resurrection. When was he brought into the world?

Sha’ul, a servant of Yahshua the Anointed, called to be an emissary, set apart for the Good News of Elohim, which he promised before through his prophets in the holy Scriptures, CONCERNING HIS SON, WHO WAS BORN OF THE SEED OF DAVID ACCORDING TO THE FLESH, (Romans 1:1-3 RNEB)

His first birth was according to the flesh from the seed of David. This is when Yahshua came into existence, just like every other person born of a woman. The promise of his coming was prophesied by the prophets of old. Now lets look at his second birth.

WHO WAS DECLARED TO BE THE SON OF ELOHIM WITH POWER, ACCORDING TO THE SPIRIT OF HOLINESS, BY THE RESURRECTION FROM THE DEAD, Yahshua the Anointed our Master, (Romans 1:4 RNEB)

His second birth was at his resurrection, which was his spiritual birth when he became the son of Elohim.

For to which of the angels did he say at any time, "You are my Son. Today have I become your father?" and again, "I will be to him a Father, and he will be to me a Son?" (Hebrews 1:5 RNEB)
Again, when he brings in the firstborn into the world he says, "Let all the angels of Elohim worship him." (Hebrews 1:6 RNEB)
But which of the angels has he told at any time, "Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet?" (Hebrews 1:13 RNEB)

This was not communicated to any angel, but the son of prophecy, the one that was born of David’s loins, through Miriam, entered Sinaitic ministry for 3 1/2 years, was tortured to death, then raised from the grave on the third day.

Aren’t they all serving spirits, sent out to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation? (Hebrews 1:14 RNEB)

Hebrew 2:5-18

For he didn’t subject the world to come, of which we speak, to angels. But one has somewhere testified, saying, "What is man, that you think of him? Or the son of man, that you care for him? You made him a little lower than the angels. You crowned him with glory and honor. (Hebrews 2:5-7 RNEB)

This is speaking about Yahshua who was made a little lower than the angels, which is the position of man. It does not say he was god [Elohim], and then made himself a little lower than the angels, how would that even be possible?

You have put all things in subjection under his feet." For in that he subjected all things to him, he left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we don’t see all things subjected to him, yet. (Hebrews 2:8 RNEB)

The following verses which are in the KJV are not properly translated, they present a false understanding of what occurred. What will be doing is showing the king james and then a correct rendering of the original language.

But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. (Hebrews 2:9 KJV)

This reads as if Yahshua [Jesus] was made a little lower than the angel specifically to be killed, which presents us with a false understanding of this verse.

For it became him, FOR WHOM ARE ALL THINGS, AND BY WHOM ARE ALL THINGS, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me. Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted. (Hebrews 2:10-18 KJV)

These verses suggests that Yahshua did come out of heaven, not with his pre-existent nature as an angel, but he came out of heaven to take on the nature of a man, which is not what Sha’ul was saying.

Now lets look at the correct rendering.

But we see him who has been made a little lower than the angels, Yahshua, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of Elohim he should taste of death for everyone. (Hebrews 2:9 RNEB)

Yahshua was crowned with glory and honor by the Most High because he gave up his life.

For in bringing many sons to glory, it was only fitting that Elohim, the Creator and Preserver of everything, should bring the Initiator of their deliverance to the goal through sufferings. (Hebrews 2:10 RNEB)

Notice that "For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things" is not written in the original manuscripts, this line was added later by the redactors.

For both Yahshua, who sets people apart for Elohim, and the ones being set apart HAVE A COMMON ORIGIN - this is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers,(Hebrews 2:11 RNEB)

Their common origin is they were men.

In the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise." Again, "I will put my trust in him." Again, "Behold, here I am with the children whom Elohim has given me." Since then the children have shared in flesh and blood, he also himself in like manner shared the same, that through death he might bring to nothing him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and might deliver all of them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. FOR MOST CERTAINLY, IT IS OBVIOUS THAT HE DOES NOT TAKE HOLD OF ANGELS TO HELP THEM, BUT HE GIVES HELP TO THE SEED OF ABRAHAM. (Hebrews 2:12-16 RNEB)

Yahshua does not help angels, but helps the seed of Abraham. Job wrote that not even the stars are pure in his site (job 25:5), the stars refer to angels. We bow down to righteousness, and angels bow down to Yahshua now that he’s the first born from the dead, the coming ruler of the earth during the millennial age.

Therefore he was obligated in all things to be made like his brothers, that he might become a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to Elohim, to make atonement for the sins of the people. (Hebrews 2:17 RNEB)

The Most High didn’t bring Yahshua to be a king or governor, but a humble servant amongst the people.

For since he himself suffered death when he was put to the test, he is able to help those who are being tested now. (Hebrews 2:18 RNEB)

He was created from David’s loins as a common man, experiencing trials, temptations, pains, and sufferings. He shared in the passions, convictions and trials of man so he could be merciful and show compassion when he became our faithful High Priest and mediator at his resurrection from the dead.

Philippians 2:6-11

Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:6-11 KJV)

Remember, we already discussed what heaven man had authority over, it’s referring to the sky above us. We also know Yahshua received his glory when he was raised from the dead, which is when everyone did obeisance to him as a son of Elohim.

Who, being in the form of God, THOUGHT IT NOT ROBBERY TO BE EQUAL WITH GOD: (Philippians 2:6 KJV)

Remember man was made in the image of Elohim, there are also some problems with the way the translators presented this verse in the KJV and some other versions which will discuss in a moment.

Bel bows down, Nevo stoops; their idols are on the animals, and on the livestock: the things that you carried about are made a load, a burden to the weary [animal]. They stoop, they bow down together; they could not deliver the burden, but themselves are gone into captivity. Listen to me, house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Yisra’el, that have been borne [by me] from their birth, that have been carried from the womb; and even to old age I am he, and even to gray hairs will I carry you. I have made, and I will bear; yes, I will carry, and will deliver. TO WHOM WILL YOU LIKEN ME, AND MAKE ME EQUAL, AND COMPARE ME, THAT WE MAY BE LIKE? (Isaiah 46:1-5 RNEB)
"You are my witnesses," says YAH, "With my servant whom I have chosen; that you may know and believe me, and understand that I am he. BEFORE ME THERE WAS NO ELOHIM FORMED, NEITHER WILL THERE BE AFTER ME. (Isaiah 43:10 RNEB)

There was no elohim’s before YAH, and there won’t be any after him.

This is what YAH, the King of Yisra’el, and his Redeemer, YAH of Armies, says: "I am the first, and I am the last; AND BESIDES ME THERE IS NO ELOHIM. Who is like me? Who will call, and will declare it, and set it in order for me, since I established the ancient people? Let them declare the things that are coming, and that will happen. Don’t fear, neither be afraid. Haven’t I declared it to you long ago, and shown it? You are my witnesses. IS THERE A ELOHIM BESIDES ME? INDEED, THERE IS NOT. I DON’T KNOW ANY OTHER ROCK." (Isaiah 44:6-8 RNEB)

Let’s look at Philippians 2:6 again from a correct translation.

who, existing in the form of Elohim, he did not regard equality with Elohim something to be possessed by force, (Philippians 2:6 RNEB)

Notice how the meaning changes when properly presented, he didn’t regard equality with Elohim something to be possessed.

Regard - contemplate, eye, gaze at, stare at; watch, observe, view, or study.

but emptied himself, TAKING THE FORM OF A SERVANT, BEING MADE IN THE LIKENESS OF MEN. (Philippians 2:7 RNEB)

Yahshua made himself of no reputation, he didn’t try to make a name for himself through a governing position or political office like the Sadducees and Pharisees.

And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, yes, the death of the stake. THEREFORE ELOHIM ALSO HIGHLY EXALTED HIM, AND GAVE TO HIM THE NAME WHICH IS ABOVE EVERY NAME; (Philippians 2:8-9 RNEB)

Because Yahshua was obedient to death Elohim at his resurrection crowned him with glory and honor.

that at the name of Yahshua every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, (Philippians 2:10 RNEB)

In the book of Genesis it tells us what heaven and earth is, it’s talking about the sky above us and the earth beneath, meaning everything in this realm.

and that every tongue should confess that Yahshua the Anointed is Master, TO THE GLORY OF ELOHIM THE FATHER. (Philippians 2:11 RNEB)

Everything was done to glorify the father.

He has on his garment and on his thigh a name written, "KING OF KINGS, AND MASTER OF MASTERS." (Revelation 19:16 RNEB)

Yahshua is king and lord over all the kings and lords in this realm. The kingdoms of the earth have been put in subjection to him, he has no authority over the father.

Behold, one came to him and said, "Good teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?" He said to him, "WHY DO YOU CALL ME GOOD? NO ONE IS GOOD BUT ONE, THAT IS, ELOHIM. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments." (Matthew 19:16-17 RNEB)

Yahshua, when he was called good, immediately corrected the man and established Elohim as the one in authority. He then told him to receive eternal life he must keep the commandments, the law, which is found in the first five books of the bible.

Most certainly I tell you, a servant is not greater than his master, NEITHER ONE WHO IS SENT GREATER THAN HE WHO SENT HIM. (John 13:16 RNEB)

Yahshua was the prophet that was sent, and he is not greater, nor can he ever be than the one that sent him. Remember Yahshua didn’t give any regard to equality with Elohim.

Most certainly I tell you, he who believes in me, the works that I do, he will do also; and he will do greater works than these, because I am going to my Father. (John 14:12 RNEB)
You heard how I told you, ’I go away, and I come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I said ’I am going to my Father;’ FOR THE FATHER IS GREATER THAN I. (John 14:28 RNEB)

Revelation 1:8, 11, 17-18

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, SAITH THE LORD, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. (Revelation 1:8 KJV)

This verse is used to say Yahshua is calling himself Elohim, however when analyzing this verse we should notice it says the Almighty. This is not Yahshua speaking, many assume it is because the words are in red.

Let’s look at this verse properly transalted.

"I am the Alef and the Tav, " says YAH Elohim, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." (Revelation 1:8 RNEB)

It’s clear that the father, YAH is speaking.

Saying, I AM ALPHA AND OMEGA, THE FIRST AND THE LAST: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. (Revelation 1:11 KJV)

In this verse we have a sentence added that changes the meaning, which is not in the original text. Let’s look at the correct version found in other translations, such as the Complete Jewish Bible (CJB) and the Restored Name World English Bible (RNEB).

saying, "What you see, write in a book and send to the seven assemblies: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and to Laodicea." (Revelation 1:11 RNEB)

There is no "I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last."

When I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead man. He laid his right hand on me, saying, "Don’t be afraid. I AM THE FIRST AND THE LAST, and the Living one. I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amein. I have the keys of Death and of the grave. (Revelation 1:17-18 RNEB)

This is one of the verses used to promote the deity of Yahshua because it says "I am the first and the last...," this is seen in other places in scripture, lets look at them to see if we can see who it refers to.

For my name’s sake will I defer my anger, and for my praise will I refrain for you, that I not cut you off. Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have chosen you in the furnace of affliction. For my own sake, for my own sake, will I do it; for how should [my name] be profaned? and my glory I will not give to another. Listen to me, O Jacob, and Yisra’el my called: I am he; I AM THE FIRST, I ALSO AM THE LAST. Yes, my hand has laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand has spread out the heavens: when I call to them, they stand up together. (Isaiah 48:9-13 RNEB)
"Keep silent before me, islands, and let the peoples renew their strength. Let them come near, then let them speak. Let’s meet together for judgment. Who has raised up one from the east? Whom called him to his foot in righteousness? He hands over nations to him, and makes him rule over kings. He gives them like the dust to his sword, like the driven stubble to his bow. He pursues them, and passes by safely, Even by a way that he had not gone with his feet. Who has worked and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I, YAH, THE FIRST, AND WITH THE LAST, I AM HE." The islands have seen, and fear. The ends of the earth tremble. They approach, and come. Everyone helps his neighbor. They say to their brothers, "Be strong!" So the carpenter encourages the goldsmith. He who smoothes with the hammer encourages him who strikes the anvil, saying of the soldering, "It is good;" and he fastens it with nails, that it might not totter. "But you, Yisra’el, my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend, You whom I have taken hold of from the ends of the earth, and called from its corners, and said to you, ’You are my servant, I have chosen you and not cast you away;’ Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your Elohim. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. (Isaiah 41:1-10 RNEB)
For I, YAH your Elohim, will hold your right hand, saying to you, ’Don’t be afraid. I will help you.’ Don’t be afraid, you worm Jacob, and you men of Yisra’el. I will help you," says YAH, "and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Yisra’el. Behold, I have made you into a new sharp threshing instrument with teeth. You will thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and will make the hills like chaff. You will winnow them, and the wind will carry them away, and the whirlwind will scatter them. You will rejoice in YAH. You will glory in the Holy One of Yisra’el. The poor and needy seek water, and there is none. Their tongue fails for thirst. I, YAH, will answer them. I, the Elohim of Yisra’el, will not forsake them. I will open rivers on the bare heights, and springs in the midst of the valleys. I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. I will put cedar, shittim, myrtle, and oil trees in the wilderness. I will set fir trees, pine, and box trees together in the desert; that they may see, know, consider, and understand together, THAT THE HAND OF YAH HAS DONE THIS, AND THE HOLY ONE OF YISRA’EL HAS CREATED IT. (Isaiah 41:13-20 RNEB)
"I AM THE ALEF AND THE TAV, " says YAH elohim, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." (Revelation 1:8 RNEB)
When I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead man. He laid his right hand on me, saying, "Don’t be afraid. I AM THE FIRST AND THE LAST, and the Living one. I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amein. I have the keys of Death and of grave. (Revelation 1:17-18 RNEB)
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. I AM ALPHA AND OMEGA, THE BEGINNING AND THE ENDING, SAITH THE LORD, WHICH IS, AND WHICH WAS, AND WHICH IS TO COME, THE ALMIGHTY. (Revelation 1:7-8 KJV)

In the KJV and other versions, they use the term Lord here which many assume to mean Yahshua [Jesus], however we just looked at several scriptures throughout the bible that use similar language and descriptions, in each case it was YAH that was being referred to. The Almighty is another key to properly understanding this verse because there is only one almighty Elohim which we showed earlier in this study. The book of Revelation is not a brand new prophetic word, over 250 verses in this book can be found throughout the old testament, so a very clear understanding of this book can be obtained by studying what the prophets of old wrote with more detail and which corresponds to what has been re-stated and emphasized here.

Here is the correct rendering of this verse as seen in other translations and proven contextually.

Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, including those who pierced him. All the tribes of the earth will mourn over him. Even so, Amein. "I am the Alef and the Tav, " says YAH Elohim, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." (Revelation 1:7-8 RNEB)
He who overcomes will be arrayed in white garments, and I will in no way blot his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. (Revelation 3:5 RNEB)
He who overcomes, I will give to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father on his throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies." (Revelation 3:21-22 RNEB)

These last two references are clearly Yahshua speaking.

This is the Revelation of Yahshua the Anointed, WHICH ELOHIM GAVE HIM to show to his servants the things which must happen soon, which he sent and made known by his angel to his servant, Yochanan, (Revelation 1:1 RNEB)

This is the final piece, the first chapter of Revelation is Elohim speaking to us directly, they are not Yahshua’s words. Look at what we’re told in the very first verse, a revelation of Yahshua the Anointed, WHICH ELOHIM GAVE HIM to show his servants the things that must happen soon. Elohim was sending a message to all those who served him, so as we read this, we have to realize it’s Elohim speaking.

We can see the process of what took place in verse one, Elohim wanted to say something to his servants, so he went to Yahshua, who is the mediator between man and YAH to relay the message, Yahshua dispatched and angel to send it to Yochanan who would present it to the assemblies.

This is the Revelation of Yahshua the Anointed, which Elohim gave him to show to his servants the things which must happen soon, which he sent and made known by his angel to his servant, Yochanan, who testified TO ELOHIM’S WORD, and of the testimony of Yahshua the Anointed, about everything that he saw. Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things that are written in it, for the time is at hand. To him who loves us, and washed us from our sins by his blood; and he made us to be a Kingdom, priests to his Elohim and Father; to him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amein. Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, including those who pierced him. All the tribes of the earth will mourn over him. Even so, Amein. (Revelation 1:1-7 RNEB)

Elohim is the one who is, who was, and is to come. Yahshua the anointed was the faithful witness, the first to be resurrected from the dead. Notice as we read the next verse we can see this is Elohim’s prophecy.

"I am the Alef and the Tav, " says YAH Elohim, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." (Revelation 1:8 RNEB)

This is the Most High speaking.

Yahshua is the first and the last, which is different from the Alef and the Tav, which refers to YAH alone. Yahshua was the first born from the dead (Revelation 1:1), and he was the last to bear rule, the eternal king of the earth (Revelation 21:22-23).

Even though this verse refers to Yahshua, it’s the Most High speaking on his behalf. Lets look at another example of this.

"When the Counselor has come, whom I will send to you from the Father, THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH, WHO PROCEEDS FROM THE FATHER, HE WILL TESTIFY ABOUT ME. You will also testify, because you have been with me from the beginning. (John 15:26-27 RNEB)

The counselor is the spirit, and Yahshua will send him, but he’s from the Father. We just seen the same thing in Revelation, the Father had a message and Yahshua sent it to Yochanan for him by dispatching an angel. It then says the father sends the spirit of truth, however it testifies about Yahshua, it’s the father doing the speaking, again as we see happening in Revelation chapter one.

However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; BUT WHATEVER HE HEARS, HE WILL SPEAK. He will declare to you things that are coming. He will glorify me, for he will take from what is mine, and will declare it to you. (John 16:13-14 RNEB)
He said to me, "Write, ’Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’" He said to me, "THESE ARE TRUE WORDS OF ELOHIM." (Revelation 19:9 RNEB)

These are the words of Elohim, not Yahshua [Jesus].

I fell down before his feet to worship him. He said to me, "Look! Don’t do it! I am a fellow bondservant with you and with your brothers who hold the testimony of Yahshua. WORSHIP ELOHIM, for the testimony of Yahshua is the Spirit of Prophecy." (Revelation 19:10 RNEB)

We’re told to worship Elohim, not Yahshua [Jesus].

Now I, Yochanan, am the one who heard and saw these things. When I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel WHO HAD SHOWN ME THESE THINGS. He said to me, "See you don’t do it! I am a fellow bondservant with you and with your brothers, the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. WORSHIP ELOHIM." (Revelation 22:8-9 RNEB)

It’s an angel that is showing these things, which Yahshua sent for the father. Throughout scripture Yahshua said he only spoke those things he heard from the father, he was always delivering a message for the father. Elohim is the one speaking and giving himself glory, but at the same time lifting Yahshua up as well.

"Behold, I come quickly. My reward is with me, to repay to each man according to his work. I am the Alef and the Tav, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. (Revelation 22:12-13 RNEB)

These are Elohim’s words.

Blessed are those who do his commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. I, Yahshua, have sent my angel to testify these things to you for the assemblies. I AM THE ROOT AND THE OFFSPRING OF DAVID; the Bright and Morning Star." (Revelation 22:14-16 RNEB)

Yahshua says he’s the root and offspring of David, he is not the almighty, and never claimed to be.
